What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Eaten today
A couple cubes chocolate

Eggs and cheese thrown in microwave

I was out a good few hours so in my nosebag I had a sausage, slices of bacon, 3 babybel cheeses, 2 boiled eggs, which I dipped into during the day.

Came home and had 2 small chicken drumsticks, a handful of frozen blueberries with double cream on top.
A wee bit more chocolate....okay I own up...a wee bit more than a wee bit...

Coffee with cream
Several cups of tea
Water with either pinch salt or a bit of lemon in

How dare I be anything but overwhelmingly grateful that by an accident of history I can type this entry at my leisure rather than be preparing to be shot at, wounded or killed in Normandy. Perspective helps sometimes. Just tea and coffee until around 13.30. NE1 was 4 flaxseed crackers as sandwiches - fillings were tongue and sandwich ham. Also had mozzarella and tomato salad with 1 spring onion and OO and ACV dressing. NE2 around 18.40 was avocado and egg salad with h/m mayo. Like me the food was imperfect, idiosyncratic, not to everyone's taste but never intentionally harmful.

Evening everyone. Very quiet in here tonight.

Today's menu looked like this...

B. Coffee chia pudding with cocoa, cacao nibs and hazelnut topping. Coffee.
L: Nothing for me, Mr B had leftover butter chicken and cauliflower rice.
D: Pan-fried paprika pork fillet with mushrooms, served with asparagus and celeriac parmentier. SF jelly. Decaf coffee and cream.

Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries and cream washed down with a black coffee.
Lunch: gouda and chorizo rollitos with cauliflower and broccoli salad followed by Greek yoghurt and raspberries.
Mid afternoon: coffee chia pudding and black coffee.
Dinner: chicken, lemongrass and coconut stir fry followed by SF jelly, cream and LC chocolate granola.

Quick check in for me - still away on hols. Have found that a large breakfast - the sort hotels do so well - will keep me full til dinner and mostly avoid big spikes. Notable exception was the finding of Stornoway black pudding @maglil55. I was so chuffed to see it the first morning and didn’t bother testing at 2 hrs. Second morning I remembered to check and saw a 7.7 so that’s the last of that delicacy for me sadly.
Don’t want to bore everyone with the last few days’ food but today was special - lobster! Fresh this afternoon. We haven’t had lobster since our honeymoon it was delicious. Had a bottle of Picpoul with it - a white I used to enjoy but I found it too sweet now. Shame or good thing? Bit of both probably.
It turned out we didn’t have to pay for it: Mr C got stuck in the gents and they had to break the door to get him out! I’m still laughing but he’s in a huff that I didn’t send a search party. I assumed he’d gone out for a sneaky cig ( he’s supposed to have given up) or had a phone call but I did think he’d been a while! Anyway they were v apologetic and gave us the wine for free - result! ( I’ll have to shut him in more often!)

Haha! Something similar happened here, when my parents visited!
We were all sitting waiting for her to come back from the loo so we could finish watching a film...
and we waited...
And waited...
And eventually I went to check and heard a little voice saying ‘help!’
The dicky door handle that Mr B and I knew exactly how to turn, did it automatically, and never even remembered to warn them about...
We fixed it the next day.
:hilarious:

Today:
NE1: LC hot choc
NE2: cheesy mince
NE3: pork ribs (small portion) followed by blue cheese (fancy name I can’t spell) and butter :D

Belated congratulations to @Goonergal and @Brunneria! Long may your patience run unabated.
Beautiful tribute @ianpspurs . I must say, I would happily have sat down with your meals if you let me bring my smoked mozzarella to make the samdwiches! I join the II Club you've (unwittingly) started.
@DJC3 Picpoul! I chatted with a lady who had a dozen bottles of it in her shopping cart today-- told her I wanted to come to her party please. I've never heard of it but to see such a (to me) unusually-named wine twice in one day! Cool. Sorry about Mr C but I'm laughing too. Why didn't he call you?? (Oh wait. His phone was in your purse, I bet....) @Brunneria it's rampant! My mom AND (separately!) one of my kids' friends got stuck in the bathroom of the family vacation house because during the summer you have to pull up on the old type lever door latch while pulling down on the top of the door (humidity....). Neither was tall enough to do that anyway!
Stress condensing from the air and falling like bar bells onto my head around here. Declining mom and entitled adult (so called) autistic son. Arrgh.
What do we fight stress with? All together now, ladies-- chocolate!! It seems that if I eat my choccie after noon or so, it doesn't do much to BG. I'm all for that!
Today:
NE 1 1/2 avocado, 4 castelvetrano lolives, sm handful pecans, DWSAC. I think after about an hour I got desperate and had a piece of choc.
NE2 6-7 lolives that wouldn't fit in the mason jar, 3 sq 90% choc, DWH&H, 4 more sq choc <shock and awe>....
NE3 after discovering bg 5.5: Castelvetrano snipped wilted spinach with peanut dijon sauce. I couldn't get the "sweet" out of the sauce despite more and more mustard, plus some olive brine. Probably the hm balsamic vinaigrette I used for the base. When it was too late I bethought me of the limes in the icebox (good southern usage if I just can't write "fridge" with a straight face). Ah well. And Probably something flax-y if I can get out from under this cat. At this point only for the fiber. I am not hungry.
Making an old family recipe for above son's birthday cake Sunday: chocolate wafer cookies shaped into a log with whipped cream. Have found an LC adaptable recipe for the wafers, so there will be some for me too!

I bought me a Celtic lap harp @gennepher ! Going to use it to entertain Mom with. And my long-time friends and musical colleagues at the local harp store have invited me to make an appointment, bring Mom in, and she can play with the actual full-size pedal harps !!!!! I'm sure we'll get a mini recital out of it too.
Hope for an hour's walking before the next storm comes rolling through... if only this darn cat would stop being so squishy and sweet on my lap!

Wow. That is brilliant! Absolutely amazing!
That will be something different for your mum.
Let me know how it goes!
Take care
Have fun

Sounds like you have a lot on your plate at the moment @zauberflote , thank heaven for a squishy cat on your lap to help you feel at peace with the world.
I had to re-read your sentence “at the local harp store” as if that’s a normal thing like a local butcher’s you must be living in a musician’s paradise! I’m sure your mom will love the outing and it’ll do her the world of good.
I’ve seen something along the lines of your wafer/ cream cake - if you manage a lc version I’d be very interested in seeing the recipe ( I am following you on CMT so will look out for it)

Ps Mr C’s phone was in his jacket pocket - hung over the back of his chair. I did try texting him at one point but just heard the ping in his pocket. He reckons he was in there nearly an hour but I don’t think he can have been - surely I’d have missed him before then? He got in an even bigger huff later when it transpired I’d texted our daughters and told them about it and they all started sending him lavatory based jokes

Lunch yesterday: Danish blue cheese on HB toast.
Dinner: Pork chops again, baked veggies, gravy.
Breakfast: Cheese and mushroom omelette, bacon, tomato, spudlite.

Drinks: Black coffee / tea, water.
Great menu and just noticed the A1c for June '19 - fantastic result. Top, top bloke.

Best not to suggest a day out in Looe any time soon

Yesterday.
Breakfast. Boiled egg, LC slice of bread, assorted cheese. Tea.
Home alone (at the pension) I only had some babybel, almonds to eat and tea and water to drink. . No energy to go in search of more food.
Evening, a wine tasting was arranged with a traditional farmer’s tea. Fabulous looking bread (I didn’t) lots of different meats, wurst salad, smoked schwarzwälder ham, cheese. And lots of delicious Baden wine with interesting info about it all.

Short food entry today. Tea, 1 CWC. Lunch/NE1 was egg mayo. NE2/dinner was cheese, cucumber and 2 double sized flaxseed crackers and butter. NE2 was taken with me on baby sitting expedition. Have also eaten 2 slices sandwich ham and 2 pieces of kebab meat and about 28 gms kaltbach cheese.

Food today

Some chocolate

Eggs and cheese thrown in microwave.

Frozen red berries in wine with double cream on.

Some chocolate and coffee with cream

Had to go out at 3 pm and put prescription for meds in which I had totally forgotten, and there was a fish and chip shop next door. I bought one piece of fish, took all the batter off, and ate the fish while watching you tube on my phone in the car...delicious...

Fancied some more of these delicious frozen berries when I got home and put cream on. Ate a lump of cheese with it.

Not quite what I planned today. But I did spend all day with cat in the potting shed. And rejoined cat when I got back in..:

Drinks:
Cups tea
Mugs black coffee
Water with lemon juice or pinch salt in
