We had thunder and lots of lightening from Thursday afternoon through to Friday lunchtime, but, as far as I could tell, no rain at all. Neil disconnected the router to prevent damage so we had no wifi for that time. I disconnected as many things as possible to prevent any damage, but had to leave the TV - the socket is right at the back of a cupboard, which I can't get to. No problems though. My sister in law was telling me that they had the same storms in Ayrshire, where a house had a hole punched through its roof by the lightening and another family nearby had to evacuate rapidly as their house caught fire and was pretty well destroyed. Poor souls. SIL was the same as me - disconnected everything but the TV (for the same reason).
In terms of "the virus" I am still up and down. Every time I think it has gone, it gives me another blast. Lungs very sore today. Not to worry though. My main worry is the potential return of bowel cancer - missed a colonoscopy in April due to cancelled appointments and my bowel is really playing up at present. I will ask the GP about that when I talk to him/her about the blood test results towards the end of next week.
I am still trying to eat very little carbohydrate. However, I am finding that my weight is increasing and I need more insulin than before these days. In terms of weight, I guess, despite eating fewer meals, and often not finishing them, I must still be taking in too many calories for my level of activity. That means, I'll have to cut out the cream/cheese/fatty meat and try to eat more veg! (Not a good idea at present.)
Only tea so far today but I will have some of the gumbo later (the amount I made filled 4 freezer dishes with another helping left over). That means very little carb - just the tiny amount in the veg and 1/5 of the dessertspoon of waterchestnut flour in the roux. I'll try to leave it at that for the rest of the day.
Edit - PS just saw the pic of your new car - looks very smart.
