Hi All
@shelley262 well done on the weight loss my BMI has been stuck on 26 for the last three years but I got to a dress size 12 after being a 16 on dx so I am happy with that for an old bird! Your Welsh trip sounds just the ticket. I am longing to go to Cornwall but am still not ready to do it.
@annabell1 your cauli fritters look amazing, will defo give them a go soon.
Today’s food as follows
Breakfast: usual slice HiLo toast, tea.
Lunch: egg mayo salad, using lettuce and radishes from the garden.
Supper will be pan fried halibut steaks and broccoli.
A couple of gin & sodas outside beforehand outside hopefully. My current bottle is Whitleys Blood Orange which is clear in colour but really nice.
I've not had gin with just soda water. does it taste good with the whitely blood orange gin. Might try it as have a bottle of that gin at home but Ive been going through a few other brands of Gin before opening it.

Last night I made some ricotta cheese gnocchi and homemade tomato chilli basil sauce for dinner but did not enjoy the gnocchi for some reason which is strange because I've made them before. Sometimes I don't like the taste of food strange though but believe it maybe related to either my Crohn's colitis but wonder if it is also from T2D so wondering Does anyone else have the same problem? Or am I just weird haha.

Once again Had problems sleeping had body aches headaches and feeling queasy wondering if its because I'm lowering my dose of my thyroxine as doctor said was high my thyroid readings have been out of whack since beginning of last year I often wonder if it is from doing low carb mmm the thing is the last month or so my body joint aches have been bothering me more and just not feeling up to par but I'm going for a blood test tomorrow for a few tests results so see what results are as think maybe I have gone down dose to far.

Today Sunday woke up early 9am well for me that's early lol these days bahahaha my BSL was 5.6 mmol/L . Brekie made a 2 egg omelet with a few cooked mushrooms 1/4 tin cherry tin tomatoes some baby spinach and bit of grated tasty cheese with a slice of sourdough toast butter and a black coffee. Then About 2.30pm started feeling queasy again and had a headache and neck spine ache and got really fatigued so thought maybe my BS was low or even high as had 1/2 cup of juice an hour ago but when tested my BSL it was 5.8mmol/L. So decided to have a black coffee and whilst rummaging through my freezer found a banana muffin not a good choice so nuked it and had it with my coffee and spread some butter on it I thought it would settle my queasy feeling but it hasn't. I think I'm going to have a liedown see if that may help if not might take some panadol osteo and anti-nausa tablets if it doesn't settle down.

For Dinner tonight whilst rummaging through my freezer I found some lamb that I had cut up for kebabs a while ago so will cook them and have a side salad with iceberg lettuce and tomatoes and avocado dressed with my garlicky lemon dressing.

Sorry I feel like I'm sounding a bit like a hyperchonderac at the moment.

People who think they know everything.
@annabell1 - your breakfast sounds lovely - how do your BGs react to the sourdough?

Very windy here today. All my lovely fully out roses along the side wall hedge in the garden have lost their petals overnight! Plenty of buds are on their way but at the moment it looks a bit sad.

Breakfast: usual Sunday morning brunch - chaffle, eggs, mushrooms and 100g baked beans
Lunch: Actimel drink
Dinner: leftover salads from yesterdays - 1. Greek butter beans, 2. cucumber and red pepper (think sort of bite size chunky tzatziki) with chopped mint and proper Greek yogurt , 3. peas, tiny broad beans and artichoke hearts in a lemon zest, garlic and olive oil dressing, and 4. Greek salad (beefsteak tomatoes, feta and olives in a fresh oregano and fruity olive oil dressing) plus mixed lettuce leaves and probably some houmous

A glass or two of red wine will definitely be consumed plus lots of water. All other drinks (except for strong black decaffeinated coffee) seem to taste sweet in a not very nice way at the moment.

All herbs and the lettuce from the garden - just need to nip out there to pick them between showers. Can't wait for my first tomatoes - the plants are weighed down with fruit but they are all green. I will definitely be eating h/g courgettes this week but they are a bit small today. We have planted far too much chard and mangetout!

@annabell1 thanks for the ingredients for the fritters, surprised about the hazelnuts in there and might use almond flour instead. It looks like a recipe that could have different combos. Sorry you have had a horrible day of pain and queasiness, hope you are better now. I like orange flavoured gin. My favourite is the Aldi Persian Lime & Seville orange but the Blood Orange from Whitley Neil is nice, not sweet. I couldnt drink ordinary gin without diet tonic though.
Yesterday’s food was
Usual breakfast Hilo toast and tea.
Lunch was sliver of farm shop bread Piled high with egg mayo and side salad.
Supper was oriental veg and rmp strips stirfried with Teriyaki sauce and shredded fresh ginger.
Today had same breakfast.
Lunch was egg mayo and salad, couple of slices salami Milano.
Supper will be selection from bbq of chicken mini fillets, high meat sausages, beef and lamb burgers and probs side salad.
I had the most spectacular leek in my farm shop box yesterday. It must be 2 ft high. I am thinking of using the two thirds green parts to make soup with added broccoli which I have a lot of. Might be nice for lunch a couple of days now the weather has cooled.
For some reason they sent me 3 giant tomatoes, the size of apples, together weighing 660g which is both startling and not what I wanted. I think one or even half would be too carby in one go. It was an odd order as they upscaled the weights of the 3 meats I ordered by up to 100g which is too much. They are usually on point, maybe its a new member of staff.

@shelley262 & @DJC3 - I spent my 45th Anniversary cleaning the car only for it to be delayed until Monday (some delay with the registration documentation thanks to changing cars). Still it's nice and clean now and all ready for tomorrow. I didn't even have a drink. I could have but didn't feel like it. Never mind will have a drink today instead. Hubby wanted to get me something sapphire but I refused. How do you think he would take it if I asked for a new bridge instead?

@DCUKMod - the gap is between 1/4 and 1/2 ins. Amazon have them.

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Zeerkeer-C...t+slicer&qid=1593347999&sprefix=meat+&sr=8-74

Cuts quite a few things. Only difference is mine has the SPAM brand on it.

Thanks Maglil, I saw several on Amazon, but none of them gave the dimensions for the slices. Of course, any cheese wire would work, but heck who can beat a decent gadget?

@Chook - the wind has whipped up here too. I had a quick trip to Lidl this morning (Hubby wanted a cordless hedge trimmer that came in today). We have a few shrubs needing a good haircut! Ended up getting glow in the dark pebbles as well and another 3 Hostas. Hostas were a good size for £3.99 each. Also noticed they are getting Sodastream in from Thursday for £39.99. I'm also going to get the Homedics facial spa on Thursday as it has an attachment for sinuses.
Today - Sunday Bed 8.1 FBG 7.6. BGs sitting high again but I feel OK.
B. TAG and a couple of GF crackers and pate.
L. 2 tomato sausages (air fried of course) and a fried egg.
D. Chicken breast stuffed with Monterrey Jack and wrapped in Parma ham. Broad beans, mushroom and celeriac parmentier. DGF bakewell with cherries. Usual campari and soda and a wee prosecco I think.

I was allowed to watch the Downtown Abbey movie last night. I do mean "allowed" as not Hubby's cup of tea but I enjoyed it.

It actually seems to be quite handy. Hubby had a banana in it for the boys yesterday followed by apple. It will certainly deal with the Spam and other tinned meats for that matter. These big avocados as well. I like the fact it's multiple slices. I've always had the small egg version but I never envisaged a large version.

Maglil, if you're looking at the Sodastream, it could be worthwhile looking at the Soda Splash whilst finalising your decision?

https://www.creamsupplies.co.uk/soda-splash-carbonator-infuser

I currently have an organy (I hope!) gin just in it's minute or two waiting period, after it's 30 second infusion. Way faster than SV, or plain old waiting, and waiting, with more waiting.

This guy just uses a stainless cream whipper: https://cookingissues.com/2010/08/1...bNLmc-s_3YZVPS3SOF-zBVy3-YS3F2mJrtWB2vG5zEgr8

Yesterday:
B. Nothing (except fresh mint tea as usual)
Mid morning : 2 apricots... readings taught me a lot about the sugars in fruit. Felt quite odd after eating them on an empty stomach. Then had mini migraine
L. Scrambled eggs with cheddar cheese and 50g brie and olives.Small yogurt with nuts as trying to up fats
D. Chicken breast marinades in yog and curry spices, served on skewered with courgette, peppers. Also had 8 large prawns one skewer (had been planned bbq until weather changed. Struggled to finish it.
One hardly worth it drink in evening of tiny wine with water and 1 capful Aperol to see if I can still taste it that small. No I couldn't. Seems another thing off the list:bored:

I didn't realise that they made a slicer like this - like you, I have the egg version, the latest in a long line since my mother bought one about 1948, but this looks interesting. I have added it to my wish list on Amazon.

2 fried eggs for breakfast about noon today with a very small flat bread. Lots of tea. Didn't make such a large spike as I expected - +2 by 2 hours.

I've had lamb shanks braising in the oven for about 4 hours for tonight's dinner. Smells great but I will wait for a while.

Also fried off some onions, mushrooms and chicken livers to make pate a bit later on, when it has all cooled down. That will be for breakfast tomorrow.

Brunch today was 2 fried eggs, 1 rasher of bacon on fried LoDough. Lots of coffee.
Mid Aft 1 Babybell
Dinners Slow roast pork belly with creamed cabbage. Couple glasses of wine Followed by strawberries and cream. The crackling was heavenly - put the skin back in the oven while meat was resting and the spuds were roasting. I think I ate most of the crackling single handed.
@maglil55 and @Annb I have recently found my egg slicer. I’m trying to sort stuff from the old ( large) house and only keep essentials in this tiny cottage but the egg slicer is so satisfying I love it, can’t even think of chucking it out. A large Spam size one must be even more satisfying.

I’d recommend soda water with gin it brings out flavour of gin I usually add ice and a slice of lemon or lime find any diet tonic way too sweet. I don’t do flavoured gins just straight gin but would imagine it would work well with the flavoured gin

I use an iPad and shrink the file by using an app called Pic Stitch. I think it’s probably available on Android too, just search it in your App Store.
