What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Large breakfast and large dinner punctuated by a longer than mapped, damp, muddy, misty and very enjoyable canal walk with a friend. Was very glad to be with a friend as it got dark before we finished and it was very spooky indeed in places.

Hotel breakfast of a 3 egg omelette with ham, cheese and onions, with a side of bacon. Supplemented with the last of the almond butter and cream I had lurking in the hotel fridge.
Dinner was from Five Guys. Bacon cheeseburger (bunless of course) with an extra patty, grilled onions and mayo.

Edited to add the ‘bunless’.

BG up to 17.0 this morning. Correction dose took it down to 12.9. Water and tea only until about 2 pm. Then I decided I really ought to eat something so cooked some streaky bacon. I was going to put an egg with it, but decided to have a wholemeal sandwich instead. Currently down to 6.2.

I have some pork sausages in the fridge, so I'd better at least cook them and might actually eat a couple and, if I can be bothered, I'll cook some kale to go with them. Still not managing to raise much enthusiasm for food and not managing to stay on my feet long enough to do many jobs around the house (didn't get the washing put away yesterday, so might try to do that in a while). That would be one little victory over my laziness.

I'm reminded of a time years ago, when the boys were very small. I felt just the same, except I also had terrible, unexplained, back pain and was just hanging across the furniture to support myself and berating myself for being bone idle. I didn't think I was ill but eventually called in the doctor. "Oh, it's probably flu. There's a lot of it around. Paracetemol, fluids, rest.." At that time, Tom was away at sea and I was hundreds of miles from my family. My mother made her usual weekly phone call and that's when I broke down. "I don't feel well," I wailed down the phone. "I'll be there tomorrow morning." Thank the Lord for mum. She took the train to London, an overnight bus from London to Glasgow and train to Dumbarton and was with us before lunch time (which she had to make for us). When I turned yellow, she called the doctor again. "Yes, there's a lot of hepatitis around in Dumbarton at the moment. Paracetemol, fluids, rest..." Thank the Lord for mums.

I haven't turned yellow this time, so it's not hepatitis. Just tired and arthritic.

Evening all.

Still away so still over-indulging.

Hotel breakfast of 3 egg omelette with cheese, onions and ham, with a generous side of bacon.
Lunch with a friend - Nando’s; half a plain chicken (asked for and got 2 legs instead of a leg + a breast) and a side of broccoli. Followed up with a Hotel Chocolat 85% hot chocolate with extra whip.
Not had dinner as such, but nibbled on a couple of cheese portions snaffled from the breakfast buffet earlier in the week, plus some raspberries and cream still left in my fridge.

Homeward bound and back on track tomorrow, although one last visit to Hotel Chocolat is planned en route to the train station - it’s so close it’d be rude not to!

I finally made your marmite nuts today, @MrsA2 !
They're even better than I thought they would be, I hadn't expected them to get a bit of a crispy texture! :hungry::hungry::hungry:
Oh my. I see I wrote this only two days ago, which means I've finished the 200 gram batch in two days, seeing as I made a new batch today because there weren't any left. :wideyed:
How bad would a marmity walnuts addiction be?

Today was soup from the freezer with some extra cubed bacon. Tomorrow will be whatever I can find in the kitchen. Postponing groceries to the day after tomorrow, as I can get my booster shot then, so I'll only need to drive once.

Two slices cheese on low carb toast, two hard boiled eggs for breakfast.
Cold chicken leg, lemon cordial no osomolax for smoko.
Pork loin chops, green veggies, gravy for lunch.
Two mexican sausages and salad wraps for supper at six.

The rest of the lychees went before I could get at them, bit slow off the mark.

I did warn you ! Hubby likes cashews and eats then in 2 days. I like brazils or pecans and do make them last a few days, as I pay the shopping bills

B ff greek with seeds and h/m lc cranberry relish
L turkey soup (did have carrots and 2 small potatoes in 4 portions), cheese and seedy crackers. 2 squares cherry choc.
D: picked at pork scratchings, bit of cauliflower cheese savoury, 1 piece lc soda bread. 2 pieces h/m lc gingerbread with cream. 1 seaweed spiced rum, which is proving to be the tipple of Christmas. It might have sugar in, can't find carb info anywhere but not spiking me

Rum is made from molasses that comes from sugar cane, we have a big rum distillery here in Bundaberg as it is a cane farming area. No carbs in the spiced rum here though.

Rum is called " Cane Cutters Cordial" amongst the older people here in Bundaberg.

Edit: Spellin', clarity. :meh:

Last day of Christmas excess today.

Breakfast was another hotel omelette with a large side of bacon.
Pre-lunch was a Hotel Chocolat 85% hot chocolate. On the house, no less!
Lunch was quite a feast in the form of a picnic on the train home, made up of various items from my hotel fridge/cupboard. Selection of Spanish meats - chorizo, pork loin & Serrano ham; some cheese portions from the hotel breakfast buffet, raspberries and cream/Greek yoghurt, a few nuts and a small bag of Serious Pig snacking cheese. Oh and the remains of a bar of 85% chocolate.
Not had dinner, but finished off a pack of salted pistachios that was started before I left.

No contraband in the flat and a large piece of lamb shoulder has been removed from the freezer ready for tomorrow.

Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries washed down with a black coffee.
Late morning: black coffee and a DGF chocolate and orange brownie.

Dinner: cold left over Low Carb Food Co pizza with coleslaw followed by DGF Christmas pud with home made SF brandy butter and extra thick double cream

Time to get back on track after a Christmas dominated by a horrible family crisis. I’ve eaten my body weight in cheese most days and BG has been sky high.

B- 2 scrambled eggs on marmite lc toast
L- pate, Brie and olives with seedy crackers. DGF Crimbo crumble
D- Cold roast beef with my new favourite side: sauteed shredded sprouts with a dollop of blue cheese melted on top.

@Goonergal I still have a bar of HC 90% in the fridge, I’m being very controlled - eating it in 10g portions but I’ll have to catch you up in the chocabstinence in a few days.

Two slices of middle bacon, two egg and cheese omelette, two slices vegimite on low carb toast for breakfast.
No smoko, just a lemon cordial osmolax mix.
Three "beef" sausages, veggies and gravy for lunch.
Cold sausages and mustard sandwiches, passion fruit sorbet for supper at six.

Breakfast: cold salmon and kale leftovers.
2nd meal will be meatballs in tomato sauce.

My cleaner should have come yesterday, but she eventually phoned to say she would come today. So had to clear the floors again early this morning. That was hard work - my legs are very bad today so I was staggering around putting things on the bed, out of the way of the brush and steamer. Things are getting worse for some reason - maybe the cold weather. Who knows.

Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries washed down with a black coffee.

Skipped lunch.
Mid afternoon: black coffee and another Carb Killa bar
Dinner: Low Carb Food Company pork pie, salad and mixed nuts followed by DGF Xmas pud with cream and home made SF brandy butter.
