What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Safe travels @shelley262 that blood draw sounds quite traumatic. I hope at least that the student nurse learnt from it and will improve. It’s a bit rich giving you the statin talk before your blood has even been sent off.
@Goonergal I’ve had a tinfoil cut and agree it’s excruciating. Your description still made me squirm though.
Today’s food-
B- 2 eggs&2 bacon rashers
L- slice of butchers roast pork, tomato and Keto Fitness Club piccalilli in SLC roll. Handful of Montezuma’s 100% chocolate buttons
D- DD chicken caprese casserole 2 Montezuma’s peanut butter mini eggs.

MrB had a tin foil cut a few weeks ago, from the serrated edge, after tearing off a piece.

He ended up with steri strips on it. It just would not stop bleeding, and he seemed to think if he moaned a lot I might be more sympathetic. After all these years, he should know better! :)

Today was a hungry day in this hacienda. We were outside regularly checking on fences, walls etc, but thankfully, we appear to be unscathed, unlike a couple of neighbours.

My usual brekkers and lunch, with MrB declaring this Friday to be a chip shop dinner. I had sausages cooked in the air fryer with peas and a few extra crispy scrappy looking chips. It did hot the spot though.

Bacon, two egg and cheese omelette, small portion of baked beans, mushrooms for breakfast.
No smoko except for lemon cordial / osmolax mix.
Savoury liver and bacon, veggies for lunch.
Toasted low carb cheese and onion sandwiches for supper at six.

Waiting my turn in the queue for my blood tests at the pathology lab, got three more to go for my turn. The coffee was smelling good when I first walked into the Friendlies, might have breakfast there this morning.

Woke, stood up and got excruciating sciatic pain I had last summer. Ouch!
Painkillers and a hot bath and stress sent bg to 9 but seems to have worked .
B: ff greek with chia seeds and chopped ginger chocolate I'd put together last night so it was so thick it was solid.
Most of the morning was spent chasing garden furniture and pots around.
L: ham and cheese, cucumber, nuts
Late afternoon went to take dogs out, found fence had fallen on car (not ours) and a neighbours wall was totally gone.
Came home very quickly as didn't feel safe
D: frittata using up yesterday's kale a nd leeks.few nuts and last of the chocolate. I glass red.
Interminable games of hunt the ball with the dog who isn't impressed with such short walk.

Bought lots of yummy food but didn't feel like cooking.
I can hardly hear myself think over the storm. It's been a steady 10 Bft for hours, with stronger gusts in between.

So I made a low carb sanwich with cottage cheese, goats cheese and tomato, and a very thin omelet (one egg) filled with cheese and chorizo.

Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries washed down with a black coffee.
Late morning: black coffee and a carb killa bar.
Skipped lunch.
Mid afternoon: black coffee and a Food Dr bar.
Dinner: low carb bread roll filled with Brie and a smear of cranberry sauce followed by DGF raspberry Bakewell cake and cream.

Ouch!!
We are having builders in soon; one of their terms and conditions stated ‘unlimited tea and sympathy’. I agreed to the tea but crossed out the sympathy. I don’t do sympathy very well either.
On topic I’ve had 2 cups black coffee so far and I’m not even up yet.

Breakfast: about 11 am - bacon and egg

2nd meal: kind of Lancashire hot-pot. Celeriac instead of potato but I didn't have any parsnip so I used swede instead and I couldn't resist adding some north African spices. It's ready now and I will probably have it about 5 pm.

Edited: That's the 2nd time the site has played silly games and uploaded the post in the middle of me typing it. I must be pressing something which is a short-cut for saving to the site.

breakfast; low carb granola, a toasted slice of carbzone bread and butter
mocha
lunch; seeded crackers, pate, salad, protein bar
dinner; at local restaurant, which despite snow we managed to get to! Steak, salad a few fries. crackers and cheese. gin and tonic.
diet coke, pistachios

@AndBreathe some steri strips might have been handy. This one also bled for ages!

Middle of the day medical appointment so ended up eating some macadamia nuts about 9am to keep me going.

Main event was lemon and pepper chicken wings at Wing Stop at the branch near the old office. Yum. There was a new Aldi ‘local’ (not seen one of those before) nearby so dropped by to pick up Greek yoghurt (v tasty) and 85% chocolate.

Some M&S chocolate eclairs may also have been involved :D

Where is everyone?
Are you all fasting?

I'm not!

I had green beans and bok choy with a little black bean and garlic sauce and a little sambal badjak (a variety of Indonesian hot sauce), a well filled and spiced peanut sauce with fresh ginger, turmeric, an onion, garlic, soy sauce, and some spices, and marinated pork belly pieces, oven baked.

I plated too much, but it tasted so good that the dogs and cats made the leftovers disappear in a matter of seconds, even though I'd already fished all the meat out for myself!

Black coffee, two bits off bacon, two eggs, two slices toast, small portion of baked beans, tomatoes, for breakfast at the Atrium Cafe at the Friendlies Hospital after my blood tests at the pathology lab there. Prices have gone up since the last time I had something to eat and drink there, I got a bit of change out of $40.00.
Nothing for smoko again.
Grilled Blue salmon fillets, salad for lunch.
Steak and fried onion not low carb bread sandwiches for supper at six.

Blood tests went well, blood flowed easily for a change first up for the four vials she got. :D

Out early for a dog walk before the weather closed in again, so
11 am leftover frittata, then yoghurt, pear and chia seeds
Afternoon, made some chia brownies but as we are away using a different kitchen, couldn't find the right sized tin, or a scales and then I missed out cocoa powder! The result is actually a rich, dense brownie which is very tasty.
D: cooked by hubby, Thai green chicken curry with a packet of long life caulifower rice from a company called Fullgreen. Ingredients said just cauliflower and broccoli, but it tasted and smelled awful. 1 glass red. Brownie and cream . Yum

Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries washed down with a black coffee.
Late morning: black coffee and a Food Dr bar.
Skipped lunch.
Mid afternoon: black coffee and an Atkins bar.
Dinner: low carb roll filled with cream cheese and cucumber with coleslaw followed by DGF ginger cake and cream.

Friday bed 6 5 FBG 6.9. @Goonergal, I feel for you with you cut. I had a slip with a very sharp carving knife at Christmas, just under the joint on my fingers. It took weeks to heal as it was in a very awkward place. I still have the scars! Safe journey @shelley262. I think your student is trying to enter the vampire ranks!

B. TAG
L. Nothing
D. Not much - 1/2 slice ox tongue, some wafer thin ham, 4 santini tomatoes, whipped cheese and salami. I just wasn't hungry. I got engrossed in cleaning out cupboards, overdid it and just didn't feel like eating.

Today bed 6.7 FBG 6.4

Much better after a good night's sleep and a hot shower.

B. TAG and streaky bacon, 2 fried eggs, 4 santini tomatoes and a slice of GF black pudding.

L. Coconut milk.

D. Cold cuts, ox tongue, rare roast beef, salami, coronation chicken, whipped cheese, coleslaw, beetroot and 3 M&S crackers.

I hope you all survived the storm without harm. We had next to nothing. A bit of a wind and a lot of rain.

That was my one and only experience of cauliflower rice not long after diagnosis. Really was vile! Only saving grace was that I’d put the rice on the side of the plate so it went straight in the bin with the important part of the meal staying in tact! Didn’t bother trying again as rice was never something I ate a lot of anyway and whatever went with it was always the tasty bit.

Just having my morning pint glass of iced water with the juice of half a lime and some pink salt.

A decent sized piece of lamb shoulder will be going in to slow roast in a couple of hours.

Looks very tasty. I hope there were no repercussions from the hot sauce after the animals finished your dinner!

Just wind and rain here. Nothing too bad, even though they took the ferries off - just in case.

Just had my breakfast (10.40 am) of scrambled eggs on a slice of toast (Neil's bread again - it doesn't seem to put my BG up for some reason - he's a magician as well as everything else!)

Later I will have some of the hotpot I made yesterday and the rest will go into the freezer - it's not so good that I will want it for a third day. Shouldn't have bothered with the spices - didn't go well with the carrots and swede.

@Antje77 your Asian pork and vegetable meal looks wonderful and I'm sure it was very tasty for all of you.
