What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

B- 3 fried eggs on wilted spinach with grated parmesan on top
L/D - all the family round for a lovely change so it felt very festive. Slow cooked beef brisket (130C overnight in a tent of foil - what a fabulous smell to wake up to) cheesy leeks, broccoli and shredded sprouts with smoked bacon lardons. Cheese and h/m seedy crackers to follow, few(!) glasses of wine.
I’m on black tea now. Determined to get used to it.
“All the family round” sounds like a lovely treat

Three egg and cheese omelette with leftover chicken mixed in the brew, two slices vegimite on toast for breakfast.
Blade steak, fried onions and tomatoes, mixed salad, no local fruit left in the fridges, so a tub of low sugar pineapple and pears with L/L sorbet for lunch.
JOs fish cakes for supper at six as was not feeing very hungry.

Glass of single malt (Laphroaig 10 yo that I got for fathers day in September), gotta make it last.
When we visited the laphroaig distillery they said that was the then Prince Charles favourite single malt, very nice.

Didn't go to the "Move More" clinic today - insides still complaining after yesterday's disaster so I didn't dare leave the house. But I was hungry a bit earlier so I had a couple of slices of ham. Bit uncertain about the effect that is having just now.

If things improve and I can have something more than tea or water (or the hot orange juice I had a short time ago - half orange juice from a carton and half hot water), I will just make it scrambled egg - that should be light enough to avoid offending my system.

@DJC3 & @Stephen Bond I've already mentioned it was a month in Poland for our honeymoon that stopped me drinking tea with milk. It just tasted really horrible after drinking it black. I even started drinking it in a glass with a holder when we got back. What I omitted to say is both of us put literally 6 grains of granulated sugar in it. I really do mean 6 grains. It shouldn't make a difference but psychologically it does. Plus 6 grains doesn't affect BGs!

The latter while getting very frustrated with O2 who don’t seem interested that a mobile phone signal is a vital part of modern life, and 2 weeks to fix a fault is 2 weeks too long. I've bills to pay and can't log on to my bank without them sending an otp code, and they can't be done without a phone and signal :banghead:
Mid afternoon a cocoa with added slug of brandy

I do remember you saying that, I love the thought of drinking it in a glass with a holder too.
Someone in a FB group said they can drink black tea if they can’t actually see what it looks like so they’ve started having it in a travel mug so they can’t see it. I tried it and surprisingly it works. ( but I must get a tea travel mug, my old one has a definite coffee patina)

Brunch - reheated a bowl of yesterdays brisket, lots of burnt ends and crispy bits. Topped with a fried egg. Really good.
Dinner - 2 airfried chicken breasts, green salad and h/m mayo. Chilli superkraut.
Kudos for using the airfryer!!... I have had mine a year and still do not use it much... That said, I gave three instantpots with airfyer to friends last year, and none of them have used it even once!!

Just checked my Helmann's mayonnaise and the first ingredient is rapeseed oil! Has that always been the case and I've just noticed, or have they changed the recipe? Now feel as though I have to check everything just in case, although to be honest, I don't buy much that is ready made so I suppose I could start making my own mayo again. It's not that hard after all, just a bit of a faff when you can buy it ready made and it keeps a bit better than the home made stuff. Must check the sardines in olive oil as well - just to make sure.

Felt well enough to have some scrambled egg about 5.30 pm and everything seems to be OK, so whatever caused the problem seems to have sorted itself out - of course the Loperamide might have had something to do with it.

No breakfast because my Welsh friend was visiting and I had made a cake (traybake) to offer her, so I knew I would have a small piece, just to check that it was OK. It was.

Lunchtime shortly so will probably have egg mayo.

2nd meal will be a kind of mince hash - as long as Neil gets some beef mince for me in the shopping, otherwise it will have to be fish from the freezer.

@Lainie71, just noticed your dislike of the term "big boned" - I was always told that as well. I was heavy as a teenager (101/2 stone) but I was skinny with big elbows and knees jutting out. So I believed it. Now those bones are not visible under all the fat, so I can't use that as an excuse any more.

I have noticed on quite a few items lately ingredients have been changed. I suspect they are doing it for cost.
