What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Had scrambled eggs and felt OK. Then BG started to drop too far. Had a slice of toast. Kept falling and eventually Libre alarm told me BG was 3.8 and still dropping so I just had one of those medjool dates. That should stop the rot, but it was horribly sweet. I knew it would be but I couldn't think of anything else to stop the drop. Stomach not happy with it though.

Christmas market shopping in Exeter today so just black coffee before setting off. Bought a couple more black coffees while browsing the stalls.
L- from a German sausage stall, I had bratwurst with sauerkraut.
Mid aft snack - venison salami from a game meat stall.
Dinner - back home, too tired to make anything but a cheese omelette. Then a glass of red with some Camembert and nuts.

Forgot to post Friday's menu yesterday, saturday's menu was :

Three hard boiled eggs, two slices toast and vegimite for breakfast.
Heat and eat chicken wing, although I stopped the m/wave at 1:30 so they were just warmed up, home made potatoe salad amd kimchi flavoured coldslaw, lettuce, tomatoes for lunch.
Picked at some various cheeses, pepper crackers, some small portions of locally grown fruit for supper at six.

Two glasses of single malt before an early night listenin to ABC Jazz on the radio stream.

Usual Saturday yoga class was cancelled as the hall was needed for Xmas fair, so we all met up for breakfast instead
I had scrambled eggs with smoked salmon, came with a lot of the latter, and a very nice coffee with a large amount of double cream on the side.
Was interesting to see how many opted for croissants or cake instead of eggs.
Mine kept me going to about 4 when I had a hm lc chocolate brownie bite.
7pm out dancing until 11pm!
Nibbled on quite a lot of olives and soem cheese.
Hungry when home of ff greek hm yog with half a pear, 4 walnuts and 1 sq85% chopped in.

Feeling better today so breakfast at about 9.30 am - bacon and egg. Should be safe enough.

Just about to start making chicken chasseur for 2nd meal today. Neil bought a pack of about 8 chicken thighs so I'll make a lot and keep most of it for another time/times. That will be ready mid afternoon but I will try to just have a small amount and then try to fit in another small meal later to make it 3 small meals a day to keep that doctor happy (and my liver - according to him).

Thursday 17 November - bed 6.7 FBG 6.9. Youngest won't be back at school this week plus no jujitsu or swimming. He's having poor sleep with this attack of croup. He has settled at least now that he understands it's just a scary cough. Lots of steam and he is putting up with being propped up. I gave my Aqua a miss too as I wasn't feeling great again.

B. TAG with 2 scrambled eggs and a slice of SLC toast with butter.

L. CC little chocolate pot.

D. Courgetti carbonara and a vodka and diet coke.

2 coffees with cream between 9:30 and 11:30
2 chicken drumsticks, 2 slices ham, 2 slices Edam cheese
Gardening- boy it's wet out there, but picked 2 good handfuls of raspberries, latest ever I can recall.
D: roast chicken, cabbage and leeks in butter, carrots, cauliflower. Hm ff yoghurt with 1 sq 85% choc chopped with 4 walnuts and splash of cream

Friday 18 November - bed 6.6 FBG 6.8. Weather has been atrocious and the Esk is close to breaking its banks. Quite a few roads around us have flooded. Just added yesterday's courgetti pic.

B. TAG and a slice of SLC toast with butter.

L. Nothing.

D. Rack of ribs with coleslaw. DGF vegan fudge brownie with 6 strawberries and cream. 20221117_182605.jpg

Saturday bed 7.4 FBG 7.2. Glad to read you're feeling better @Annb . Your BGs really are one of life's Mysteries. I was speaking to my SIL today and she is suffering from the same fuzzy head as me if she turns the wrong way. I wish it would just go away!

B. TAG (just 1 for jujitsu today). The rain has gone off thankfully.

L. Much later - 6 of these small, already cooked, cocktail sausages.

D. Usual cold cuts. Ham, chicken, pork & egg, haslet, coleslaw. CC little chocolate pot.

I am not liking these new eye drops. Eyes feel a bit gritty but that's one of the side affects. I have my preoperative visit this Friday and I just want to feel healthy by then. I've started on steam inhalation myself now and it is certainly helping.

Had my chicken chasseur and before long my tum was playing up again. The veggies were only onions and mushrooms so not a high fibre content.

Eventually had a cheese sandwich around 8 pm - that was the 3rd meal. Still feeling very uncertain.

B: ff hm lc yoghurtwith seeds and blueberries
Then a big lidl shop. Had trouble resisting buying some of the Xmas "treats" but the carby ones have gone out of sight into a locked cupboard and I'm trying to tell myself to limit the new cheeses to one open at a time.
L: cheese and ham rollups, 2 chicken drumsticks.
Then a walk up to the local church for a funeral, which was delayed over an hour so got thoroughly cold.
Rushed back to get ready for a quiz. The provided meal was fish and chips so I had opted out and took cheese crisps and olives for the snacky bits, and chicken drumsticks and cheese (cheddar with whiskey!) for the main. 2 glasses of watered down wine.
We came second, by just 1 point. A Good evening.
what does ff hm lc mean? I'm new!

Coffee and cream x 2
Cottage cheese and tomato. Fage small yogurt.
Sausages.
OMG how is this all you eat?? I'm trying to cut out carbs and reduce my sugar intake but I'm struggling with feeling hungry. This seems like barely any food. :greedy:

You're not the only one to struggle. Nor do you need to reduce your food intake so drastically. Depending on the way your diabetes reacts, reducing carbs, including sugar, might be all you need. Better to try reducing first and only if that doesn't work, try to control actual quantity of food. That would be a long way down the line.

Bacon ad eggs, fried tomtoes, two slices tost and vegimite for breakfast.
Heat and eat in the bag roast brisket with a onion and spicy mix gravy, mixed veggies, thick slice of dragon fruit and L/L sorbet for lunch.
Leftover brisket ina couple of toasted sandwiches, for supper at six.

Glass of single malt goodness before an early night.

okay, thank you. It's quite terrifying! I'm allergic to nuts and intolerant to most pulses, lactose intolerant & not allowed to cook meat/fish in the house, so it's quite complicated for me. I'm trying my best but definitely missing sugar/chocolate and potatoes the most.
