What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Cwc and a chunk of cheddar before braving Big Town with errands .
Gave me a chance to explore Sainsburys lc options as it not my usual supermarket

Not hugely impressed. The Coconut collaboration chocolate pots were hidden in the "meat free" section of the meat aisle, and all their cheeses (apart for cheddar and brie) was in excess of £20 a kilo. They did have plentiful Hilo bread but at £2.50, thought it was £2 last time I bought it. Thier magnesium citrate supplements were cheaper than Holland and Barrett.
Couldnt really see anything else that took my eye, I like different High % chocolate flavours, but nothing .

L: Pie d'angloy cheese on 1 slice HiLo bread. 1 ryvita with more cheese. 1 cc chocolate pot.

Tried the far rye ryvita as an alternative to the Dr Kargs pumpkin seed protein crackers that I found in Waitrose. I found the ryvita like dust, all air and dryness but at the same carb count a slice. But because they are smaller and lighter the ryvita is about 7p a slice compared to Karg at 40p+ a slice, but even so I won't be finishing this packet or buying again.

D: steak with broccoli and courgettes. Stirred a large spoon of yoghurt and and teaspoon of mustard and a good knob of butter through the veg before serving.
100ml coffee ice cream.

What are your best go to supermarkets/shops for lc?

Same evening meal as yesterday without the parsley because I forgot, and with extra olives because they taste so good.
Also a smaller portion than yesterday (this is a smaller plate), I'm really not good at plating the amount of food I want to eat. The dogs don't mind though, they like cauliflower cheese as much as I do. :)

I also saved the cutest little mouse, which is off topic, so I'll post a picture of him in the parallel thread.

Nice amount of Alkaline vegetables there.

Have just put my breakfast on the stove to cook. It is smoked haddock with coddled eggs. Haven't coddled eggs for years, but suddenly thought they would be preferable to fried egg with the haddock.

2nd meal today will be the remainder of the chicken tagine.

Checking the fridge I found that the chicken breasts I asked Neil to buy for me and the pork sausages were both fairly short dated so I need to get them cooked. I'm poaching both of them at the moment and that will preserve them for a bit longer, then I'll think of what to do with them in the coming days.

Wednesday 2 August - bed 7.9 FBG 7.1. Not a great day weather wise, but grandson & I managed in-between downpours to clean my car ready for its changeover. He actually volunteered to help as his little brother is a "midden" in the car, and his smaller hands can reach into gaps I can't reach. He did a great job, so great his papa paid him for it (which he didn't expect).

B. TAG and 2 slices of SRSLY toast with ham and a cheese triangle. Benecol dairy free

L. Last of the current crustless quiche.

D. A mix of prawns & queenie scallops in some description of sauce I mixed together. Halloumi bites and another experiment! I'd noticed aubergine parmigiana sealed in a type of pastry parcel. I tried it using circles cut from the SRSLY lc wraps. I had to be careful not to make it overly "wet" but it worked. Used aubergine, some onion, some tomato/garlic and mozzarella (obviously seasoning).

Thursday 3 August - bed 7 FBG 7.2. Car change day. Grandson came with me and is delighted with his choice.

B. TAG and 2 slices of SRSLY toast with ham and a cheese triangle. Benecol dairy free.

L. A slice of SRSLY toast with Ploughman's Pate.

D. Mug of tomato soup and CC little chocolate pot! All Hubby's fault!

I'd dropped him at the football, but he'd forgotten his phone. One of his friends got hold of the wrong end of the stick and got in touch to say he wasn't well and I was to collect him. Suffice to say, things got more complicated, and I ended up doing circuits around the area where I collect him after the match. No sign, not at home, his keys in my car. Turns out he was at the match. I'd ended up with no dinner, no idea what was going on. I'm threatening to tag him!

Roger That. I'm in Germany so don't get to see most of the food produced in UK anymore. Unless I get it sent over and the Customs take my bacon out of the cool packs, leave it 10 days in an uncooled state before sending it on to be thrown away as it has turned.

12ish two fried eggs on one slice of LC toast followed by a few garden berries and yoghurt and then a couple of squares of 100% chocolate
Mid pm one square of LC cake
5ish lamb curry on bed of turmeric cauliflower rice and lots of coriander and two glasses of gin and soda water. Pudding some more berries and yoghurt

I'm usually completely happy eating low carb, and I usually don't feel deprived at all.
I'm also very happy with my neighbour and his 18 year old son living in a trailer in my garden.
But this does mean that anything they order gets delivered at my front door, and pizza just smells so, so good! :arghh:
Last week at least it was something with fries, giving me the chance to steal a couple between sending them a message about their delivery and them coming up to get it. I've yet to find a way to steal a bite of pizza.

Think I can add a line to their renting contract about pizza taxes for accepting their packages? I'm not thinking heavy taxes, just a single bite whenever I have to take their pizza at the front door...
It's clause 3.14 subsection 178 in a standard UK lease... ;)
This absolutely totally works!
Instead of fighting to not feel deprived when my neighbours order pizza, I'm now in for a happy surprise every time the pizza man comes by.
Today it was a small bite of a thin crusted tuna, onion and cheese pizza with sliced jalapeno.
And my young neighbour now asks me if his pizza is good before he even opens the box. :hilarious:

My evening meal was the same as yesterday and the day before, this time with a double portion of parsley to make up for yesterday.
I plated too much again, but this time it was intentional: It was the last of the dish and the dogs seem to like leftovers from my plate better than from the cold pan. Not sure if they prefer their food warm or if it's just that it's my plate which makes it taste better, but I'm happy to oblige.
I also found out today that the cat absolutely loves cauliflower cheese with feta as well. :cat:
