Hungry this morning so boiled eggs mashed with butter.
Worked up an appetite again helping a daughter with some cleaning chores so she made us lunch of smoked salmon and scrambled eggs ( @shelley262 she is managing fish and eggs ok which is one good thing)
Dinner out to celebrate a granddaughters 13th birthday and she’s turned into a monosyllabic teenager overnight! We went to a steak house where I had a very mediocre mixed grill minus chips and onion rings. Wasn’t tempted by the tomato or dried looking peas on my plate. Just drank waterIMG_3353.jpg

B: ff greek with chia seeds and 8 blackberries. Measured the yoghurt today as libre is showing this breakfast rises my bg by more than I like. Seems I might have been having too large a portion. Will measure again next week when I'm back on my more usual linseed.

A morning of computer admim and a visit to a relative with learning disabilities made for a busy and stressful day, without any lunch.

4pm did treat myself to a mini ice cream. Bg went up more than when I have one as part if a meal.

6pm bolognaise mince on cabbage. 1 sq chia brownie.

8:30 a lc hot chocolate

Wednesday 20 September - bed 7.9 FBG 5.9. BGs are darting up and down a bit. Boys are still here for dinner, and I'm finishing packing. Niece is taking us to the station in the morning as every taxi firm is booked out with school runs!

B. TAG and a bit of crustless quiche.

L. Nothing

D. Boys & Hubby wanted steak pie and chips. I made the mistake of having a bit of GF steak pie. I also had some of the meat from the other steak pie. I didn't eat that much pastry, so there must have been something in the gravy as my BGs shot up. I still had the CC little chocolate pot later with some blackberries. I won't do that again in a hurry, but it was too easy just to pick at bits in passing.

@DJC3, been there and done the "foreign language" teenager thing with our son. We're now about to experience the same thing with the eldest grandson, who turns 13 on Friday.

Breakfast fried some garden tomatoes in olive oil plus one slice of bacon and one egg and one slice of LC bread
Lunch a slice of ham and small piece of comte cheese and one slice of LC fruit loaf toasted
Dinner sea bream with cauliflower cheese and glass of dry white wine then LC cake and decaffeinated coffee.

A busy morning out and about on just a mug of coffee so didn’t get home for lunch until around 2pm. Quick and easy flash fried steak strips in beef dripping and a fried egg.
Dinner was ‘clean’ burgers from the local pasture reared beef farm. Just mince and Cornish sea salt. Made a bacon double cheeseburger stack with them.

@maglil55 I’m trying to reassure my daughter that she was just the same when she was a teenager, and not to worry. I remember it being exhausting and exasperating though. IMG_3359.jpg

B: ff greek with chia seeds and blackberries

L: cheese, salami, ham, cucumber and radishes

Making our glut of grapes into jars of jelly to give as presents meant a kilo of real sugar... taste tests alone kept me above 10 for about 4 hours, and a major headache ever since. At least its only once a year, but I must find a healthier use for them.

D: mince on cabbage and broccoli

One of those days today where I could pick an argument with myself. Don't know if it's the cold damp weather, the seemingly end of summer, but I just wanted to cuddle under a duvet - probably I'm getting into hibernation mode

The left over soup that was in the fridge was bothering me, so I ate that for breakfast, later I had a packet of scratchings, a chicken drumstick, a noggin of Lancashire cheese, a tuna fridge pot with mayo, a fat sausage, and 4 squares of 90% chocolate. I just couldn't stop grazing, it wasn't carbs that I was craving, but something has been affecting my mood all day. BG has been flitting between 5 and 6 so it's not that. I can only put my mood down to the weather. Hope tomorrow my mood will be fairing better.

Carbs coming in under 25g.

I have relatively recently discovered Comte cheese. Oh wow, love it. we are very fortunate that our small town has an excellent cheese shop. Well, fortunate? Maybe not, as it means it’s too easy for me to get good cheese.

I confess I'd wend my way to a cheesemonger regardless of its location. Grazing a cheese-board is my idea of heaven!

Fortunately, cheese makes an ideal treat for diabetics. Most of the lactose (ie. milk sugar) is removed in the whey during cheesemaking. The residual lactose in cheese curd is metabolised during the early stages of ripening, mainly through the action of microbes, leaving you with a delicious food that is mostly fat with some protein; carbohydrate content is negligible!

Spent the morning with no 3 daughter shopping for her wedding dress, very exciting!
Just water and a couple of black coffees until we had lunch at a Turkish restaurant.
I had lamb Shish kebab but I couldn’t resist a spoonful of the gorgeous h/m hummus and a bit of the lovely fresh salad.
Dinner at home this evening was later than I like to eat so I had a h/b egg and a couple of rollitos to stave off hunger. It meant I could then only eat half my dinner which was 2 pork steaks and cheese sauce.
