Managed to get Waitroses 2 quid olinas thank you. Just looked at Holland and Barrett online and they seem to be 2.99 so in between Waitrose and Amazon price wise!
Hope arm heaviness goes soon I'm due my vax in a week.
You're welcome, glad you got some. Thanks for the look up, I didn't think of that, I'll put it down to the vax. :bag:

Talking of which, thank you, I've had the heavy arm each time I've had jab, will be okay after tomorrow. Good luck with yours.

Just to add & keep to the thread, I went for the SRSLY roll for dinner. ;)

Yesterday, after gym and a short cold swim outside I made a quick meal of things needing used up: A couple of chicken livers, some bacon cubes, mushrooms, an onion, a little bok choy, and I added tomato paste, cream cheese and a glug of wine left over from the cottage pie.
Turned out pretty tasy too!

Today I spent the second half of the afternoon in the swimming pool with a friend, enjoying waves and slides. I'm rather proud to report I managed to make it (very slowly) to the end of the thing in the picture below, despite getting the full attention of the pool guard with the very cold water hose! She's one of our locum aquarobics teachers and she recognised me, and clearly decided I was the perfect target between all those children. :hilarious:
After all that I had a small beer and a 'kaassoufflé' (Dutch deep fried snack, very much not low carb).

Late evening meal (I had the kaassoufflé late afternoon after all) of a slice of low carb bread with a fried egg with bacon, mushrooms and cheese.
Promise I'll make a proper meal again tomorrow. I also promised to go for a quick cold swim again tomorrow at 5PM but I won't take that as an excuse for not cooking. Really, I won't. I hope.

Wish there was an emoji in the 'like panel' as these pics of meals look really delicious, eg

My routine was in chaos yesterday by having visitors (I loosely call it a 'routine). Stuck with my resolve even when visitors brought a tin of delicious looking homemade fancy shortbreads.

11am coffee with cream
2pm chicken leg (no thigh)
6pm tinned tuna and cucumber
6.30pm small apple, Castillo cream blue cheese, almonds
4 squares of 90% dark chocolate

Carbs for the day; just under 19g

Hi All
So back to Wednsday and was still eating light.
Brekkie usual slice LC toast, cooled, buttered and copious tea (builders).
Lunch was two thin slices Dr Almond bread spread with Dairylea. Tea.
Supper was chicken thighs cooked in tinned tomatoes and red pepper with just a pinch of spice, a kind of not curry, cauli rice.
Yesterday usual brekkie.
Lunch two slices Dr Almond bread buttered and the liquid from previous nights chicken, tomato & red pepper, a kind of nourishing soup.
Supper was chunky cod fingers and cauli cheese.
Today same brekkie.
Lunch a couple of bits of Red Storm cheese (a kind of mature Red Leicester) from Waitrose counter, a tomato or pickled onions, slivers of Dr Almond paleo bread and butter.
Supper will be Chicken Shaslik from Waitrose and green veg.

Was intending to have breakfast but my cleaner arrived earlier than usual just as I was about to make it. In the end I didn't get around to it at all. I had some brisket and some lamb flank in the oven for a long, slow cook and when it was done I took a slice off of the brisket, which was quite enough for me. With the lamb I stripped the bones and cartilage out and have put it into a dish with weight on top to press it into a square piece of cold meat for slicing. Also chewed on the bones to avoid throwing away good meat, even if there was little of it.

I daresay I will have some kind of meal some time today but not sure what or when. At present I am trying to persuade myself that I don't want anything starchy, which is what my stomach is telling me it wants. Shan't give in though. I'll just boil some eggs to have them in hand so I have no excuse.

Just had an email from the LowCarb Food Co, where I get my bread from, it looks like they are folding :( They are suspending trading for now. Has anyone had this company’s bread and Srsly bread? How do they compare?

Spicy food which is too hot. Nasty people who have no idea on your life journey but feel the need to comment and be cruel.
Coffee and cream x 2
Coffee and unsweetened almond milk
Beef and butter
Smoked salmon
Cheese, tomato, cucumber and 3 slices of green pepper

Well @jessj and @shelley262 i went to our small Waitrose, no seedy crackers. I went the medium sized one next town but 2 and still no crackers, I then went 4 towns over to the big one and still no crackers .
Maybe they have yet to reach the South East.

At least I was up and about today after yesterday's massive migraine. Having slept 17 out of 24 hours, I didn't sleep much last night and ended up getting up at 4 am for yoghurt and seeds as I was very hungry.
I then slept again 5-9.
Second breakfast was at 11, 3 scrambled eggs
L at 1:30 a bit of pate on a protein cracker
4pm a nut bar
6pm bolognaise sauce on cabbage.

Finally seem to be full, thank heavens.
Celebrated with a glass of white wine and soda

2 creamy scrambled eggs for breakfast, coffee and cream

2pm 2 small thickly cubed chicken breasts fried in coconut oil. Made a mixture of cream with a spoonful of Patak's Korma paste and juice of a lemon, stirred the mixture in with the chicken and stirred until most of the moisture evaporated. Was left with something that resembled chicken tikka. Not pretty, but quick and tasty, and very filling.

5.30 Chicken and Veg soup with added cream.

2 squares of 90% Lindt dark chocolate

Today was a 15g carb day!

Need a thumbs down emoji! Gutted for you, @MrsA2, after literally going the extra mile to find some. :( You probably wasted the extra cost to have got from Amazon on petrol. They've made it to the South South, so maybe need to branch out now. ;) Is there a Holland & Barratt anywhere around you? A £ more expensive, but if you can get them... Really pleased that you're over your migraine & feeling more human.

Today's meal was tuna salad in romaine leaves followed by some Fage with mixed milled seeds & a spoon of hmlc blueberry couli/jam stirred in.

Where South South? We're off to Dorset, Wiltshire and Devon next couple weeks

And yes our Holland and Barret don't stock them ,but can order in but I want them to bring away Tuesday.
Might resort to making my own if too wet to garden this weekend
You'll be driving above & past me as I'm in South Hampshire. A pain that there's a lack in both stores for you, maybe if you get a chance look in either one where you're going. The weather forecast is looking a bit grim, so it seems you'll get a chance to make some. Crazy that they're not available everywhere though.

Had sausage & egg Mcmuffin breakfast.
(It was too difficult & tempting ) My son gave me a free ticket for the Mcmuffin, that he was given on McDonalds Monopoly.

Ham poached egg & spinach lunchtime

Roast chicken breast, roast potatoes , roast parsnips, potato and Swede mash, parsnip, Swede and Carrot mash, Cauliflower, Yorkshire Pudding x3
and beef gravy. . . . Nice Dinner.....
Coffee x3 cups and lots of Robinson's sugar free Orange and Pineapple, double strength squash.

See what the damage is in the morning, although my Blood Sugar has not been too bad throughout the day .....

Hi @Ashybang welcome to this friendly part of the forum where we aim to keep our carbs as low as possible to help us manage out blood sugars. Some here eat 20g of carbs or less or as low as suits their blood sugars. Many eat under 100g of carbs and work at getting right amount for them.
Did you count the carbs in your food? For most of us managing their diabetes via diet many of things listed would have been too many. To make your breakfast
much lower carb you could ditch the bun from the Maccies breakfast ( you may have done it's a trick we often use here - asking for bunless burgers) lunch looks fine. A roast dinner also works on low carb but unfortunately not with so many under the ground root vegetables as they are very sugar heavy so we cut out or limit veggies like potato, parsnip and carrot. Cauliflower is fine as are all above ground veggies. You can make low carb Yorkshire pudding and also low carb gravy but most standard offerings are high carb and impact blood sugar.

Morning all. My Diabetic Retinopathy results came back negative thank heavens. My A1c went up from 51 to 58 but hopefully I can do something about that. Yesterday I was expecting the Electrician at 12 so just had a tin of tomato soup and put some chicken seasoning in. For tea, I had a poached egg plus ham on normal toast. And my level came down??? Maybe I need a few more carbs than I've been having? :banghead: :banghead: It can be so confusing at times. Anyway, have a great weekend folks. :)
