Started two paintings today, one too dark the other too light but there you go. About one hour painting time, watercolour A4 both unfinished and still on big sky for my sister theme...

@Alien Aspie like you take on art critic stuff, gave me a chuckle, it's a strange old subject.

Title Dusk to Dawn for these two paintings, wasn't that some strange Vampire film?

I like both of these. My favourite is Dusk, which to me is finished. Otherworldly.
Dawn is mysterious...actually it is finished to me as well @Muddy Cyclist

It was very misty in Cumbria this am then it lifted by lunch time. So I went to see the tide dropping on the Solway after lunch and there was a mist still over the flat calm water.
The sun burned it off and I had a very peaceful time looking out over the water to Scotland as the soldiers on the Wall perhaps had done nearly 2000 years ago.

4.3 today

we took mum to the bank earlier today and when we picked her up we discovered she had tripped yesterday and cut her head and hadn't bothered to mention it when we spoke to her yesterday evening, mr gee is half dischuffed and half worried but she is pretty independant and sometimes downright stubborn.
Thankfully she seems to be fine, though we couldn't get her to agree to get it checked by the doctor.

A decent day notwithstanding, quite warm and sunny

@Alien Aspie - I enjoy your art 'contextualised' or not

@dunelm - I practice like that sometimes, interesting experiment, then straight into the bin but your rice paper practice is going well

@gennepher - hugs for your difficult day. Your moon with it's stylised birds is very pleasing

@Muddy Cyclist - I love both your sky paintings, especially the moon and I think the fence is the better for a little disorder
As for the two new dawn and dusk paintings I like them both as they are already and await the consummation with interest

London: It was as packed as it ever is and not many masks in sight. Took 2.5 hrs to get to Regents Park and then 1 hour to get to Tower Bridge. Never going again I have only just got back, 6.5 hrs in the saddle because (yes) Miss Daisy gave me the wrong address

That looks a lot better than the insipid sunflower lanyard and badge. It actually tells people the problem. The one I do need is the cochlear implant one, because I am not allowed to have an MRI with the magnet in my head. And I am not meant to have those security scans because they can corrupt the program.

I do have a metal medic alert bracelet, but the writing has worn down and is not easy to see. That cochlear implant lanyard is tons better for easy visibility.

It appears we are in lockdown as from Thursday 6:00 pm.

Just been reading the rules.
I am fine for going for my blood tests tomorrow, even though it is out of the county because it is a day before lockdown...

But what about my medical hospital appointment this coming Monday? Because I will have to go out of this county's lockdown, drive over the border into England, then back into Wales (that's the main road), into the next county (where the hospital is) which is also under lockdown.

I don't want to go, but I don't know how important this hospital appointment is.

I am going to have to get my internet friend to ring to the hospital for me tomorrow.

I shall admit that I had failed to turn off the 'no tolls' function on Google Maps so it kept steering me away from the Congestion Zone which she'd already paid for. We could have saved 30 mins on that alone and I am definitely not telling her that

That is probably the most important one for several reasons. I'll check what else they have, and order in the morning, when my head is back on...

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and all who inhabit this reality ( other realities are available from all good mathematicians on any street corner ).
Being confined in a Faraday cage with very hit and miss 4G coverage for a week was an enjoyable experience, perhaps not to be repeated soon. The up side was I found some interesting biking roads.

Bloods for the week followed a truly random pattern and this morning were a surprising 6.3.

Well fellow posters and painters on this thread and I hope you have been well, we have so much to look forward to in the next few months, a rescheduled Christmas day, December 1st, national shortage of sprouts, the ex colonists presidential election, operating the " off switch " during the media broadcasts assuming we all care about what happens over in our old colony.
Moving on to the dreadful media coverage of this pandemic I would like to mention a couple of things.
1. Beards do not provide protection against covid.
2. Red masks are no better than any other colour mask.

Have a great day, remembering that.......I've forgotten what I going to write, age is a wonderful something or other.

These A4's were almost living breathing machines when they passed through Newark at full chat pulling the Capitals Limited non stop from Kings Cross to Edinburgh Waverly.
They need to be in steam and moving to be appreciated
I saw a lot of old men in tears when we went to the A4 exhibition at Shildon.

I drew them, but very badly.

I had a friend who worked on The flying Scotsman shovelling coal into the fire box. He said it was non stop hard work on a fast run and under full speed coal would shoot out of the Funnel. I bet these A4 s must have been hungry and demanding beasts.

Yes the A4 class. We also saw them all together with our grandson at Shildon. The Sir Nigel Gresley is in the repair sheds at Grosmont still awaiting spares I think. Mrs Miggins used to be one of the Station Managers there. Interestingly, they can’t go all the way to Whitby because the wheels are too large for the tight bend into that town.
