What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

5.2 this morning. Food all sorted for today, coffee drunk and then the dog walk around the park, one more coffee and off to work. I wonder how many people will come to Pilates on such a hot day.
 
Bit of a setback but your body will let you know quite sharply - more stretching - mind still stuck at 14 - body racing towards oblivion. Take it easy.
 
Beautiful day in Cumbria today. Wont be doing much after cataract operation on Saturday pm which could have gone a lot better.

I am a little mystified by the take off of Covid in my part of Cumbria. 620 cases per 100,000!
Must be visitors!
90% single jab 77% double..is there such a thing as herd immunity?

Can't cope in this heat just too much for me.
Keiran drove us up to Skegness last weekend on Judith's birthday it was a bit cooler then thank goodness. Had fish and chips al fresco enjoyed muchly until I accidently nocked my coffee over and Judith was the recipient of most of the spill luckily the coffee had cooled a lot by then so not a complete disaster.

Couple of days ago a building at the corner of our street a few yards away from us it has a charity shop ground floor and a flat above ended up with a proportion of it's roof on the road and pavement police closed of the road for a few hours residents moved to temporary accommodation instill repairs carried out luckily no one was actually walking or driving beneath it at the time it came down so that was a blessing.

Keiran gets his official results from Uni on Wednesday hope it's what he is expecting..

Hi @lindisfel sorry your op did not go as well as you hoped I do wish you a speedy recovery.

As for herd immunity only happens when a a high percentage of immunization is maintained.

They keep saying 87% of the population has been vaccinated I don't know how they know that as the latest census has not been fully processed yet as to population numbers and they only have the population figures from the previous census ten years ago.

The wonder wheel of indoor BBQ stuff using the Ninja (even though we have an outdoor BBQ) came in at 5.6 this am.

A trip to Newcastle yesterday morning, Gateshead to be precise - Metro Centre - those chaps who wear blue shirts with a little white apple logo on. Mrs Miggins’ - brand new IPad - stopped installing - decided not to access WIFI and on, and on, and on. So, first person - she no fixy - second person - she get laptop, plug in IPad - then spots VPN actively smacking WIFI and sending it to the naughty step - all sorted - home again, home again, jiggerty jog.

Welcome to Monday Monday whether ye be Mommas and Poppas or no. Hugs for all who find this mild weather too much, including felines. Big virtual hugs for those with sore apres Apero noggins and for @jjraak's family. Huge wider dilemmas: ditch the app to avoid pingdemic thus exposing others; avoid testing unless feeling groggy thus exposing others. Who knew lemon juice skewed the results to positive, apart from teenagers? Biggest dilemma is obviously we all want this to go well but for the sake of the country we also need this man and his stooges gone asap. Anyhow, two days of meat produced a 4.7 on the new Swipey - Meh. Lamb shoulder yesterday, studded with anchovies plus thyme, rosemary and oregano from the garden - sublime. Meat eating is another dilemma. Good to hear from you @JohnEGreen and I hope Kieran's official results are as he hopes. Truly, believers or not, I pray that

I hope I'm wrong but I fear this will get very messy indeed and we'll all get the blame.

Oh I do hope that the operation actually did what it was supposed to do, despite it not going better than it might. Problem we have north of the Humber is that visitors keep posting photo’s of wonderful scenery and the great outdoors - and then it attracts even more - some of whom go nuts, right down to not knowing what a waste bin is for.
 
@lindisfel hug for the less than satisfactory operation and I hope the outcome is well worth the needless trouble. @dunelm well done on navigating the perils of Newcastle - I have been. Ponteland seemed agreeable enough. @jjraak Muddy is fine and has no problem with me letting people know. Quiet please, @SlimLizzy may have "a head" from some nasty fruit juice. @Krystyna23040 today is just the day for Pilates - lycra is so very cooling Stay away from children - and we will have 5.9 grandchildren here all once at some stage before the week ends

Amen to that.

And yes when it all goes wrong it will be our fault we used to have government that took responsibility for the consequences of their actions/inactions or did I just imagine that as part of the golden age fantasies we all have.at some time
