6.5 this morning- that’ll teach me to give in to temptation. I’m going to have to plan our meals more efficiently so I’m not hungry in the evening.
We have a bumper week of birthdays for 5 of the family plus one close friend. I was in a scramble to think of good presents and have them all delivered in time. I’ve managed the presents but have forgotten to post two cards. Dad (don’t buy anything for me, I have everything I need) has his 93rd birthday tomorrow. *~>•¥¥?!!! Somehow creative thinking has been more difficult for these birthdays. This year feels as though it’s lurched drunkenly from one ‘happening’ to another- not all of them good ones, T2 diagnosis and the reality of it taking over my life being part of it.
Beam me up - I want some time out.

5.3 today. Have lots of breaks today so am going to relax with coffees and catching up with the weekend newspapers between classes.

it's lovely this morning. a shower, breakfast and coffees before the 8am doggie walk. So nice to do it this way round instead of starting with a 6am doggie walk because of the hot weather.

Morning all from a damp and miserable North, the big red ball has retreated behind its coat again so the natives are no longer standing in wonder at it. the machine of devilment threw a 6.1 at me and wasn't happy about it at all. A weekend of visiting material shops was called for by my better half, so cue exclamations of "I'm NOT paying that, its not got gold in" or "how are they even in business charging that per metre, they want locking up! Thieving b'''s" anyway nothing was bought and I could of sworn that it was me talking and not my wife (I love a good old moan I do me) any way hope everyone had a good weekend, full of mischief and shenanigans.

Take care everyone..

Morning All. Another brand new week. 6.0 for me today. Think I need to just dial back the quantity on my plate rather than anything else. Me and OH off to Dublin on Friday to visit Son 1 so really looking forward to that. @Bildad hope the weather improves for you all @pavlosn the fishermens chapel reminded me of the one in St Brelade Bay in Jersey. I love the idea of praying for the men to come home safely. I remember at convent school in Ireland once when a boat failed to return on time we all prayed and they did get back safely. I must have been 7 or 8 but never forgot.
@trick60 thanks for reminding me of Aristocats, need to watch again Loved that.@Bubbsie good luck at the clinic. @ianpspurs great news that you’re back on the bike and enjoying it.
Try and have a good Monday everyone. Stay well, stay safe.

I just re-found this thread. An 8.6 this morning. It’s high because although I’m eating LCHF for my meals, I’m drinking 1.5L of coke a day and eating dolly mixture to try to keep my sugars over 5. While I wait for my insulin dose to be lowered which was agreed by the nurse last Monday, I’m just waiting for it to filter through that the carer givers are told the new dose. But.... I’m off on holiday for a week today so maybe the unadjusted insulin dose is meant to be as I’m sure I will be tempted by carbs on holiday.

Poop.

The witch in the meter, threw in the tealeaves, chicken bones, entrails and God knows what else, read the runes, and determined I was 6.0.

Which was fine by me...so a happy start to my day......UNTIL I DROPPED IT. AAAAAGHHH.:***:

Screen broke..:arghh::arghh::arghh:

Ho blooming hum.:sorry:
(Time to suck it up and not cry, JJ..
oops..too late)

Best wishes for today, @Bubbsie
Hoping results are what you'd wish for.x

@johnpol ...haha...liking the writing..:hilarious:

@Krystyna23040 ... Sounds like a great start to the day.

@PenguinMum... What a lovely thing to have to look forward to..x

@ianpspurs... Nice.
Good to see you back exercising, you do sound happier and in good form :).

@Viv19 how I dislike having to buy or accept presents from others..... Never too sure if the present is for my pleasure or the givers.
Although when it's family is a little different.
If it helps... I'd forgo a present if it was me, for time with family, a meal, A drink etc, that's the present you really can't BUY.

And the the thought out someone wracking their brains and rushing around like a headless chicken to buy me something I just HAVE to say.."ooh.. That's nice, love..":rolleyes:.. Sounds like a waste all round, to me..(.G.O.M.. Mode OFF..;):))

@Debandez .. Lovely trip report.:)

@dunelm ..ya got a hug, but I'd of included a FUNNY. If I could..:hilarious:

And **** you @trick60 ...one ear worm, on CONSTANT playback...Thank YOU so much..:wideyed::woot::arghh:
be funny if it got @alf_Josiah , the same way...:hilarious::hilarious::hilarious::hilarious::hilarious: )

.and @Bildad ..you are a SAINT.
Hope the day/weather improve.<prayers>
(Hate to think of the outcome otherwise.
Kids, confinement, ENERGY...:wideyed: don't end well.)

;)

Have a good un, everyone.
Weather here.. Dry, highs of 70/80F
Perfect weather for me....off work today:D

Happy with that especially after being on holiday for a few days, and eating 2 slices of pizza yesterday!!!

This however makes me real mad:

https://iryamly.com/ten-tips-for-diabetes-diet-foods/amp/?__twitter_impression=true

Missed off "EYE OF TOAD" "WING of BAT " and "HEMLOCK"

well if they really are going to make us live with nonsense advise.
lets at least make it interesting.

Spotted this training video for those specialising in this sort of health care nonsense..

Presume it to be aimed at T1D..but they'd have a team to advise them, right ?
as for T2d..well :rolleyes:

@pavlosn amazing photography again. @karen8967 great start to the week numbers wise. @Viv19 sounds like a very stressful year so your numbers are standing up really well @Krystyna23040 good start to the today so relax between classes. @trick60 manly hug for the night time emergency dash but numbers stood up well. @PenguinMum thanks for the mensh and stay safe, well and enjoy Dublin and seeing son later this week. @Bildad sorry about the weather and enforced confinement but what an amazing thing you are doing. @dunelm glad back is not as troublesome and enjoy the time with Mr Pickle and friend.
My fbg was 5.3 which is never going to land me in a place of safety come next date with destiny. As some have said I have many blessings to be thankful for but being a cockeyed optimist about T2 control can't be the way forward.

Hi @Fndwheelie

Not sure how ok you are with the web, so apologies, if i'm teaching you to suck eggs..

on my laptop i keep it as a bookmark, once opened i just hit the 'FLAG' top corner for notifications,
usually ...then just click on one of the links
On the mobile i simply found forum page in browser, and then saved this thread as a HOMESCREEN.
Straight on to here when opened and then i browse the rest of the forum once on, if so inclined.

EDIT.
Nudged by @PenguinMum
(Watcher of all, Carer of many <much loved> )

have a great Holiday..enjoy the break

I hope you have a very enjoyable holiday. I think its very poor that it is taking this long for the new insulin dosing to be given to the carers, a week and counting. Shame on that system! Take care and have fun.

Results were spot on jjraak...not due back for another four weeks...don't buy a new meter if you call the makers they will likely send you another...they rarely make money on the meters it's the testing strips that bring the profits in...try it nothing to lose.

Good luck with the rest of the Day.
