What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Hug for the gitb...poor wee thing .
Hope the legendary restorative powers of toast can heal her asap.

Another vote for 'impressive' on the art .

Such intricate detail must take a certain eye.

Bravo.
Thank you @jjraak and it must have been the toast as she skipped into school for her afternoon session.

Thank you Ian.
Extra hugs for you.
Thanks and also @dunelm and @jjraak. @Krystyna23040 last autumn we looked at properties very near where the murder took place. JJ, there were some new enormous potholes fairly close to the edge of the road - and the incredibly deep Fen Drains. All the fun of the fair.

Get in one of those big drains, Ian and you would finish up as pike food.:)
I fell in the River Witham (Lindis) south of Lincoln before I could swim, I was on my own but managed to get out. Mother was not amused.

When the Witham goes across the Fen it is canalised like most of the Fen rivers.

Kiki has enjoyed a few days free from attententive Tomcats but another new one (ginger) turned up again this afternoon.
Kiki was out the back investigating the new neighbours. 20230331_011450.jpgso she missed him entirely because he shot out the gate ( front) when he saw me watching him. We had several visits from an escapee lamb later. Obviously the grass  is greener over here. Well it's longer anyway since now neither mower works. Kiki stalked a lamb in our paddock for some time, but when it turned it's head and looked at her she bolted - so fast and far that I was unable to find her.
She has been unusually gentle with me while I was ill. Sitting quietly with me and allowing some stroking. Even appearing to enjoy it. Big progress. Hope it doesn't evaporate now that I am recovering.
@alf_Josiah somehow missed that you are testing +ive for covid. You dont mention how you are feeling? 15 days must feel like forever. Hope you will be released from house arrest soon.
@dunelm Good to read gitb is back to her bouncy self.
@jjraak gaining strength and flexibility takes time. The slow progress is understandably frustrating but you have come so far. Overcoming such grevious injuries to return to any kind of normal must take immense determination and perseverance. Respect to you.
Although I tested -ive am still staying home. This is a really nasty infection and am trying not to pass it on to anyone. French lessons and coffee mornings cancelled. MrSlim is shopping tomorrow.

Wildlife nighttime cameras...
Badger, KissyKissy, destroys the cat's bedding on the swing... and does her business on it...
And tries a couple of times to jump on the swing...but fails...

Creative is #13 Lighthouse
I couldn't sleep last night, so I decided to paint this Lighthouse, but I fell asleep as I was painting. Fortunately, I had saved a copy of where I had got to just before I fell asleep. And somehow, I had carried on painting in my sleep. Well, it looked quite a bit different. And there are few strange effects on it. It looked more interesting than the one I was consciously painting. So I saved that one, and then I combined it with the picture before I fell asleep, and the picture here is a combined a new Lighthouse…

When does it ever stop raining? From my bed I can see the devastation caused last night (just the same as in the video above from a few days ago), presumably by the badger, KissyKissy. The bedding is pulled off the swing again, and downtrodden in the rain, and presumably peed upon again. I need another visit to the charity shop for more bedding for the cats on the swing...I am not washing it again. The last lot I washed and hung on the line at the end of the garden got pulled off the line and trampled in the rain a few days ago. I am going to blame badger KissyKissy for that.

No rest for me, no nap for me, I am going to have to get ready to brave the rain for the charity shop. Fortunately it has a basket of 50p items, sometimes towels or sheets in that basket...fingers crossed...

I think I have one cup of tea left in my nighttime flask of tea...

Have your best kind of day...somehow...

They do know when you are not well, and minister to you in their own way @SlimLizzy

Good morning everyone from a quiet and peaceful (not Dodge City) start here in the dark but apparently not so dangerous North. Mrs Miggins is up and about already as we have the Girl In The Bubble this morning. We will deposit her at school for her last afternoon session of the Spring Term. A bit more work to do on the art room and it will be good to go. Meanwhile, here is something a little different, well some outline squiggles to ponder over at least. Have a smashing day if you can. As usual, I must now make koffy.

Hope you bag a bargain at the Charity shop. Another splendid lighthouse piece. Love the textures.

Sorry to hear you've been unwell.

Does seem to be a wave of it going around currently .

Good you're testing negative & hopefully on your way to a speedy recovery
And a double bonus Nurse Kiki's tending to your needs ..(heart )
Long may that cuddling up continue.

Liking that picture, btw.

Thank you so much for the kind words.

Funny how just a few words can help sustain us when we're down or make sense of the world whirling around us .

Much appreciated.

6.8 this morning. Not so hectic today as I don't need to get anything prepared for next week as Easter vacation starts on Monday and I have plenty of time to catch up with work over the 2 week break.

Am definitely in need of this break. This week has been particularly hectic. Am so lucky that I can take these breaks and clients don't seem to mind.

8.5 this morning (4 am). 9.4 after an hour. 9.1 after another hour.

Feeling very sleepy today, so nothing done so far, although there is lots to do. Also very sore. That's after my "Move More" exercise class on Zoom, yesterday afternoon. Kirsty always says not to push it too far or too hard, but if I didn't, I wouldn't move at all. Legs were involved in yesterdays exercises and, although I did them sitting down, it was actually a bit much for my poor old leg muscles. Tottering around a bit as a result. It'll go though and, as they say, no pain, no gain.

BG a bit higher than I would have liked - that, I'm sure is because I dropped my basal dose to 54, as suggested by the diabetes nurse. The figures are what she wanted to see, but not what I wanted to see. I put it up to 56 this morning and hope that will sort it out.

Morning all from a showery and cooler LA. Not that one, this one - Little America.. Last day of this Swipey and I have some scans arranged so haven't ordered another one for now. 5.1 today which isn't great but isn't worrying. No indictment needed but it will be locked up/thrown away before tomorrow morning. I think I've learned how some gut friendly staples affect bg. The graph during the immunotherapy was interesting. Basically lowered and it stayed down until fbg - about 18 hrs. No bounceback yet either. @Annb hug for sore legs after yesterday. JKP's physio/gym day is Thursday and soreness follows. Best wishes for easement and success with insulin dosage. @gennepher that is a persistent badger. Good luck with the 50p bargain hunt which is probably about the same cost as washing when detergent factored in. Thanks for the lighthouse - friendlier today. @dunelm I'm intrigued as to how those lines may eventually be transformed when the colour and or shading are added. Thank you both for sharing. @Krystyna23040 good news on the slower pace of life - for you anyhow - for a couple of weeks. @lindisfel lucky escape from that drain. Not surprised mum was angry. @SlimLizzy hug for the lurgy. Yesterday was also grocery delivery day but only ours again, unless one counts the stock of goodies for grandchildren now Easter Hols are here. Salmon for main meal here just for a change :D Enjoy today especially if you become the freed Tilehurst One.

Still coughing a bit. But not so tired today.
Kiki is actually on my lap as I type. It's been months since she sat on either of us for more than a few seconds. Am enjoying the warmth helping to fend off the chilly feeling in the kitchen this am. High winds have blown out yet another panel on the greenhouse. ( I found it. ) But no other visible damage elsewhere as yet.
Last evening the Tabby Tom returned to serenade Kiki again. She was still watching the lambs and he rushed down the garden to greet her, calling all the while. Kiki didn't seem pleased to see him and tried to keep him at a distance but he kept encroaching until she ran from him. He tried again and nearly got stripes for his audacity! So I picked Kiki up and carried her all the way up to the house. Usually she doesnt let either of us pick her up without a minor tussle, but she was compliant, only keeping a watchful eye on Tabby Tom who followed us all the way to the house. Then he went round peering in at all the doors and calling repeatedly. I think he chased off another Tom who dared to look in the gate. Kiki at first responded aggressively and we found it amusing to watch him leap backwards from the glass when she raised a paw. After a while it was clear to us that this was a game to her. Eventually he got fed up , shook off the rain and presumably went home.
It is interesting that the first Tom had an entirely different approach and she wasn't frightened of him.
MrSlim is shopping and i am waiting in hoping for delivery of a new starter motor for one of the two broken down mowers.

A lot of scribbling here....

Looks exciting!

Thank you Ian.
I agree, time, and cost, and effort to wash these darned pieces of cat bedding, is not worth the effort.
Spent £1 at Charity shop for several odd/mismatched curtains...
So, success!
There are some beautiful cushion covers for 50p each, and they would've looked really nice on the swing, but it only takes a Badger to take one cushion cover on to the floor and that's the end of that 50p. Whereas the curtains, I can cut into quite a few pieces...

You have a good day...
