What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Don't feed doesn't always work.

And the obvious joy you get posting in such videos is evident.

I have seen many with comments switched off.

I guess if you did that, you'd still be getting the pleasure of posting, and the post view count (youtube thumbs up, insta loves ? )
Might still provide confidence others are still enjoying the videos, even without comments ..mmmh

A regular detachment when stationed at St Mawgan as ground crew with the Nimrods was Andenes on the island of Andøya well into the arctic circle night skies there were fantastically clear when it wasn't snowing a blizzard on my first detachment there we arrived in the midst of a blizzard when we opened the door and steps had been put in place some guys from the Norwegian air force came up the steps bearing gifts a crates of ice cold beers brrrr.

Only thing with the night sky there was it depended on the time of year as most of the times we were there the sun never set and you had daylight 24 hours a day.

I'm thirty today after running after no8 for two hours this morning.
Really, ninety and knackered!

BG, 6.8 on this ever increasing easterly wind, not as cold, storm, rain and horribly dark later. Storm bebet(?) coming through! So you southern softies get your duvets and hide from the elements!

Big shop on line done, chores done, exercising can wait, survey done. No8 gone home. Relaxing initiated.

Mrs L totally confused this morning regarding financial situation and actual date! It was very stressful. What the boss was saying was true, a few months ago or even years, and now, is not! And trying my hardest not to be angry is frustrating, as the disbelief in her words, face and actions, misunderstood what I'm trying to explain.
Mrs L is very difficult to placate and even showing the bank statement on my phone, her reasoning to modern technology is a bit too much!
Oh, the questions were unreasonable and nonsensical. A cuppa and a diversion of no8 coming through the door ended the discussion.

I will return later.

The footie went well last evening.

Blood sugars this morning were 6.3

It’s plinky plonky day, but my music teacher has caught covid after all this time of managing to avoid covid, therefore today’s lesson and next weeks have been cancelled. The implications are more time to practice and the religious zealots that infest the centre of Reading will have to do without my friendly comments…….shame.

A little something that happened here in Tilehurst Towers yesterday afternoon

Mrs J, who for your edification was not very happy. On 3 counts. Let me explain.

During the afternoon the door bell rang and out of kindness and to save her bothering with it I volunteered to answer it, but no Mrs J insisted she answer it and answer it she did. Mrs J listened to the person on the door step then very firmly said “ No thank you, I’m not interested “ almost slamming the door in their face.

As Mrs J walked away from the door I could hear her say “ I wish I’d let you answer it and I also wished I’d remembered the skeleton “

Therefore I have my uses and am not totally useless as she tells people also my partially buried skeleton in the front garden has been approved.

Having to admit I have my uses.

Inadvertently approving my partially buried skeleton in her front garden.

Life is fun all you have to do is take as many pills as I do and have twisted view on life.

Late yesterday afternoon I had my flu jab dispensed by the new local pharmacist, we were having a little joke in the private room that is used and after he had injected me I asked him if fancied a bit of a laugh, yep he replied my reputation is shot here already. So I screamed out as if in pain then walked of the private room robing myself only to see the staff looking in horror and unfortunately for me Mrs J who happened to be next in the queue for her flu injection glaring at me.
I have a nice bruise but not at the injection site.

Now it’s time to find my snorkel and flippers.

I always thought that skeletons were in cupboard, if not in cemetries!
 
I had a long talk to the receptionist at my GP Centre to try to get an appointment to get my legs rebandaged changed because I had been given an appointment at the hospital for my eyes and the times didn't work out. Unfortunately, they couldn't change it so it was going to be a difficult day tomorrow. Then about 20 minutes later, the hospital phoned to cancel the eye appointments because the ferry can't make the crossing due to the bad weather expected tomorrow. So it has worked out fine but I didn't need to waste my breath. However, the same issue arises next week when the 2 eye appointments are delayed to. The bandaging is set up one or 2 months in advance.
 
Really dark, cloudy, windy, but no rain yet, and my garden thermometer is stuck at 14degrees, as if it were summer.
Quiet afternoon, Mrs L napping on the couch, I had a doze for about ten minutes.
watched a YouTube video of my old hunting grounds, or known nowadays as the hood. It did bring back some childhood memories of the absurd number of pubs and bomb damage inflicted because of the docks. I knew about, as our house was isolated because of bomb damage to the side and back of both houses, shops.
as a Scouse comic once said. They bombed our chippy! Well it was more than just the chippy!. The two main roads leading down to the ferry, I counted from memory, somewhere around forty to fifty shops, work places then about another thirty to fifty houses. And including our Town hall.
They missed our schools. But the only full sized footie pitches and houses were pounded.
There was quite a few prefab bungalows, built after the war. But no major house building until the late sixties, early seventies, when the major housing estates came about. Mainly because of displacement due to slum clearence, not only from around the area but from the big city, and of course the growing population on the peninsula.
I did discover, cos I looked it up, why was there so many shops pre war? A professor of sociology, said in his report, that the need for fresh food daily for the majority of the population of a smaller area.
No fridges or freezers.
No vehicles for the majority, so couldn't shop far.
No supermarkets.
Everybody knew everyone in shops! Loyalty.
Most women cooked everything and didn't work.
Cheaper prices. Competitive cos of more shops.
Markets, we're too far away. So supply was distributed straight to shops.
No ready meals. Factory food dearer.
No microwaves.
Seasonal food from local farms. More local farms in city areas then.
Convenience.
And surprisingly, the choice of having all these shops was the variety of goods available. The lack of affordability in such areas meant that cheaper household options for most things were only a walk away.

I just wonder if this has any reason for the diabetes levels rising?

From somewhere around twenty Christian churches in our area, there is now only five! And all struggling.

I am not too keen on comments turned off. Partly because I have some long time friends who I communicate with on both those platforms. But turning off comments will be last resort option. It might come to that.

Thanks for your input, and one of my friends today said turn off comments...

I haven't long got back and I am overtired with the lack of sleep last night. I managed to get my wheelie out for tomorrow, but energy ran out to finish off the recycle bags...

My friend also thought the turning comments off was the best thing to do, as @jjraak suggested, but I am resistant to doing that at this minute.

There are more comments (no idea whether nice or not yet, not got one ounce of energy left) but I have not looked at them yet.

You are right, I need non human life to regain equilibrium. I also need to create/do digital painting/drawing/etc....

Edit: I just had a beautiful private message from someone who said they love the videos and talk about them with their children and they know the different characters so well, and some more nice words...it was uplifting, and lifted a bit of the heavy cloud in my head...

I was on a forum years ago that was Dodge city at its worst and a woman was being harassed by trolls and I tried to shut them up and finished up being called a Wiccan Les bien. I told Helen and she thought it was really funny.

Usually the insects are terrible during Arctic summers. But of course the midge are the same in Scotland.

Alan came and cut all my grass this am and strimmed some long grass in difficult places. I really appreciate his kindness, he is very fit for man of 75 years.
He and his wife fill their lives with community work.

I hope it doesn't need cutting again now the days are getting shorter.

So we put off shopping till this pm when I usually nod off between 1300 and 1500 but we managed and I went down with a migraine aura in Lidl and had to rest in the car. The duchess has developed a cold and is sneezing a lot and I seem to be getting it tonight...well I know where I got mine!!

It's been dry all day, windy and rain forecast overnight and at 14deg C...much warmer.

Have a safe and peaceful night.
