What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Morning all. Fbg 4.8 at 6.29 and still 4.8 @ 7.40. I'm trying to work out an eating pattern which takes account of the delayed impact of the steroids on bg, delivers enough cals and somehow fits in with JKP, MIL and grandchildren's mealtime. I already ask far too much of them with the faff of keeping my meals Elsie Keto. I did find out that I should have been lowering the daily dosage of steroids each month (mysterious letter from West Suffolk hospital which appears and disappears and has internal anomalies) so did so yesterday and set a reminder for next month. Peak bg yesterday seems to have been earlier and lower but there isn't enough data yet for Libre to show patterns - which would be really useful. So far this week we have had our boiler serviced and complimented on for condition and choice, newest car MOTd and pass with absolutely no issues, windows, doors, sofits and barge boards pressure washed at 2/3 cost of the first quote and my T2 and meds reviews both went well. Thanks be to God but in my mind I keep hearing "I don't like it Sarge, its too quiet." Big sporting weekend, 4 screens needed at times and not so arctic for a week. Take care, sympathy for those in need and hugs for those who need or just like that kind of thing.
Enjoy the peace and quiet @ianpspurs but never let your guard down...

Good morning everyone on an amazingly quiet start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north - Amazing as we have the three grandchildren from Brum here - arrived last night. It’s Little Miss Pamplemouse’s 10th on Monday but as that is an expensive to miss school day, it’s all happening today. Thank you so much for your messages of condolence, it means a lot. Art bit - after the fire I suppose. Hope your day brings you at least an amuse-bouche of sunshine and smiles. I had better make koffy, quietly, before the breakfast crowd awake.
Happy 10th birthday to Little Miss Pamplemouse.

Colourful fire sketch.

I hope you enjoyed the coffee...

@dunelm enjoy the precious time with those grandchildren and happy 10th birthday celebrations for LMP. Thank you for sharing your splendid art once again. @jjraak thanks for the good wishes. I too suspect the Woolwich Nomads will emerge victorious and I detect a growing sense among Spurs fans that matey bloke or not Ange is out of his depth and may receive the old Spanish Archer from Dear Mr Levy (ITK reference, spoof letters made some guy a career as the voice of Spurs fans to the press) sooner rather than later.

Very happy 10th birthday on Monday for Miss P. :singing::joyful::singing:

BG at 05.10 was 7.5. Intending to have a very lazy day today to recover from my efforts in the last 2 days. Still lots to do, but much of it will be left. Still some bits and pieces to put away after the baking effort yesterday (flour, sugar, spices etc) but that done, I'll be taking it easy. Actually just sat in the big chair after I came through and after pills and tea and decided just to doze off again, which I did, until just after 09.00. On my 2nd cup of tea now and, I suppose I should think about breakfast.

Yes you have to be careful as you reduce steroid dosage as just stopping or stepping down by to big a step can cause a lot of problems.
I have found over the years that it is best to take them first thing in the mornig as if you take them late in the day they seem to have a greater effect on blood sugars particularly fbg.

Congrats on the MOT and if it's too quiet then you're not listening hard enough.

Happy birthday to the little miss.
And it is our baby's birthday as well Monday. (39).

7.2 on this bright warming up soccer Saturday.

Peaceful morning, so chores can be sorted, but, grandkids due later. So the fun will begin.
#7 has gymnastics and I might have to babysit #8 till later.
My other granddaughter #4, is training for her basketball to start next week, and been told, keen to start army cadets, allegedly.
#3 has gone to uni. In digs. But just a bus ride away. @John Moores.
I'm gonna try and enjoy the footie, darts etc. If it's possible.

My best wishes to you lot as always.

Enjoy your weekend.

A couple of days ago we had a convoy of a couple of hundred motorcycles pass our house today it was a few hundred cars all this was in memory and as a tribute for a young lad from our area called Riley 12 years old who tragically took his own life last week such a show of support for his family was quite moving.

The convoys also managed to raise a couple of thousand pounds between them and a go fund me page is at £20,000 I believe and also the funeral directors are doing the funeral for free as they very seldom charge for children’s funerals.
This shows a great community spirit I think.

Thank you for both pieces of advice. I do take the steroids with breakfast but will/have moved that forward. I have been keeping my ear to the ground since reading your comment but all I am hearing is what sounds like horses hooves.whinnying and huge airplanes. Most odd :playful:

5.6 this morning.
Yesterday went well. I got all my admin done and then went to the podiatrist to have my feet done before classes started late afternoon.

Off to classes shortly. The most important thing to get ready for classes is, of course, my flask of Nespresso coffee.

That is amazing that it created the kaleidoscope from that picture @gennepher

Amazing to think what that started out as. Thank you so much for sharing and kudos to you for persevering with Kaleider until you appear to have bent it to your will.

Thank you @Krystyna23040

Uri Geller prompted memories but the style notes with this coat prompted even more. Anyone else, make or female, remember these with the pocket pocket square?
Is it a crombie coat?
#2 grandchild is quite adept at bending cutlery including a silver teaspoon heirloom from Mrs L 's nan!

Thanks for the baby's birthday wishes!
