Its repetitive often pointless bureaucracy that's the problem I see it so often...enjoy your meet up regroup then tackle them refreshed & reinforced gennepher.it makes me frustrated and powerless,
well...I savoured every crisp as for the mini pork pie...hmmn hmmn hmmn.
still in the Netherlands, still only a phone, still got saussages for fingers.
Oh woe, a 7.9 today. I’m off to my docs later for my interim HBa1c bloods.
I know they are going to be ok but still I panic. I’ve had a Perma cold since January so I’m blaming that
Couldn't hug and like same post. Like for the chance to meet up, hug for the fbg. Re fbg: Only a fortunate few seem able to keep theirs within a narrow range. It could be seen as unhelpful to lead members to believe LC or any other diet alone will smooth out the peaks and troughs caused by genetics, environment and pure chance.7.0 for me this morning. Can’t remember when I last had one in 7s
Ive arranged to meet an old friend for coffee this morning so can’t even dash off to the gym to work it off. I’m looking forward to seeing her though, we used to work in Clarks bakery together, our first Saturday job when we were at school. She found me on facebook and it seems she has moved to Cornwall too. Not too far from us but we are meeting in the middle for a good old catch up (about 45 years to get through!!!)
@gennepher hope you have a calmer day today, bureaucratic nonsense is hard to fight without getting stressed
@PenguinMum I bet Mr PM was happy to be told to get up at that hour
@Bubbsie I’ve found the same thing at some motorway places, and when you’re really hungry is not the time to be faffing about looking at labels. Costa is my bugbear - have met friends in there for a bite of lunch, then not been able to have anything so everyone feels uncomfortable. Surprisingly Good fbg for you though
A few years ago I bought an exercise bike on eBay for 99 pence. After a year I sold it for the same money, I just couldnt get on with it despite the huge bouncy saddle. I then tried a drop handle bar road bike and really love it. I go out everyday even if its to get the shopping. . Maybe its just cos its far more fun whizzingallong...
Garages....nuff said....I was starving PM...wouldn't have eaten anything...the sandwich wasn't so bad but those cheeky little mini pork pies & the crisps were 'calling' me
The BP garages around my neck of the woods have Simply M&S who have a good range of deli items including the infamous rollitos. Coffee shops are the worst and many cafes offer jacket pots, sandwiches but not always salads. One coffee recently tumbled into lunch and the single thing I could have was a Ploughmans with only the cheese while discarding the bread and chutney.Anybody else got favourites?
I can only do half an hour on my exercise bike for the same reason...now I'm not so well padded it's just too uncomfortable
Sending hugs xFasting Blood Sugar is 9.9 this morning at 7 am.
Some stress yesterday...a lot actually...won't bore you, but it's fighting officialdom who have their own rules and it makes me frustrated and powerless, and this was despite someone else doing all the work for me while I was there.
I thought I was chilled out. Did the meditation lark. But even my friend got frustrated at the stupidness of it, so it was me calming her. It's not resolved yet. We have to fight another day on it.
I need a mantra to get these blood sugar levels down...
But first I have promised myself a breakfast meal out today....if I can wade through this torrential rain...
Cat is very upset with this atrocious rain and massive thunderstorms...
>^..^<
If I'm on my own I go for a packet of meat in a garage. In company and wanting to appear more chivied I'll take the boiled eggs with spinach , or salad if available. I do try to carry "emergency" rations of nuts and sometimes sardines. ( The ones with flavouring are palatable on their own.)The BP garages around my neck of the woods have Simply M&S who have a good range of deli items including the infamous rollitos. Until last summer I would have said the infamous CCB (homemade bar of chocolate, flaxseed, inulin+butter to make a caramel/toffee and more chocolate). I fasted several times last summer and now I can just not eat for a day or two - last Saturday and Sunday was an example.Hi Folks. Some friends here reporting raised FBG.
My first effort today at 0620 was a surprising FBG of 9.8 mmo/lt. Time for a "factory reset". Washed hands. Placed calibration strip in meter, saw "OK". Opened fresh pack of test-strips. Selected new lancet. Different finger for BG.
New result FBG 8.3 mmo/lt. I have BG in low 7's two hours after meals lately, on my LCHF diet, so guess it is a waiting game for the FBG to equalize.
Emergency fridge raider or @Bubbsie car journey snacks. Best quality German bratwurst. Cheddar cheese and celery. Camembert with a little salad. The premium cooked sausages meant for breakfast. Anybody else got favourites?

No it was Sainsburys on Kentish Town Road...might as well have been a garage...what's frustrating is I'd forgotten I had my emergency stash of Nature Valley protein bars in the boot of my car.Garages....nuff said....
