Did we ever? I am more and more coming to the opinion we all at some point will get Covid, as indeed you have, the only reason the supposed controls are offered is to take the pressure off the Health Service and any blame for high death rates embarrassing the Government, certainly not to protect the vulnerable in the population, just a means of slowing down the carnage. Just my opinion of course.

Good to see your back to some better mobility.

Have to sadly agree.
Braced the missus for it, and she agrees now.

Thinks it's Russian roulette, and we'll all have to have a go before this is over.

On a more optimistic note.
Personally between Lauren & me,
we have had
Several older and less abled friends/ family contract this and most, have come through... not all fully recovered, due to ages/illnesses, so hard to say if highly impacted on fitness or moderate.

But even among those we might have thought a lost cause, few have succumbed fatally.

So keep well, take the vitamins etc, and I'd say, a little prayer perhaps wouldn't go amiss ( not for you alien.;))
For the coming months.

Good gracious JJ you think brum is slow!
I pulled up and waited in my car yesterday because a ginger kitten was aware of two cat lovers walking towards him/her and had decided to roll in the middle of the narrow road in Bowness on Solway.
D.

Have family in Brum.
Was up there many long f-m weekends early 20's.
Even considered moving up at one point.

Remember it feeling very slow & villagey compared to London.

Yeah I know 2nd city and all..:hilarious:

Always took a day or two to get back to
the speed and pace of everything in London.

Doubt that gaps narrowed, and if anything widened over the years.

Agree on covid here.

It's like trying to dodge raindrops in a shower
Pretty sure that's going to change to dodging raindrops in a storm as we head in to winter .. :sorry::rolleyes:

4.2 this morning.

Went for a walk yesterday late afternoon as was still quite sunny and warm first walk for a few days took afew photos but batteries in camera went low charge and spares were at home so took these with I phone not too bad but second one spoiled a little by lens flare. Not sure what the little blue artifact in both photos is.

Neither of them perfect but I quite like them.

The volunteer who brought our groceries from March to August rang us again this am as he does every week to see if we are ok and said he would pick up our groceries again come next week. I had thought of asking as the virus is taking off up here.
I find people very kind.

It looks like our area will be joining the N.E. with further restrictions, but there may be more when the PM speaks at c.1700hrs.

Interesting straw in the wind. Julie had an email from Waitrose saying she has guaranteed access to home deliveries and click and collect today. Why now?. What do W and your volunteer know/have been prepared for? Curioser and curioser.

Indeed it is, ASDA has just emailed to say they are removing me from the guaranteed list, and the govt sent one at the same time to say a small top-up to my pension was being removed.

I'm starting to feel unwanted.

As we seem to be on the same page re issues.

As I said I was lucky enough to get my flu jab the other day.

Had appt booked in for docs.

Couple on twitter asking where to get theirs as surgery run out and boots stopped taking bookings.

I'd suggest those that need it, take note and get in asap..
Lots of post suggests appt's being cancelled as vaccines run out ..:sorry:

Is the issue with over 65s who get a different vaccine? Just to be safe we are keeping our appt at local pharmacy until we have had the jab organised for all and sundry on Friday. Morton's fork again - potentially take someone's place or miss out, catch flu and burden NHS?

Of that unsure.?

I'd say this year, better safe then sorry ....:)

I hear the supermarkets are asking for one's age before they set up deliveries now and one needs to be 80.

Will the PM be Churchillian today?

We shall fight with our speeches
Mis-speak with 'n' glitches
We shall never right render

Interesting re supermarkets. Julie is 66. As regards Coco the clown in No 10 he will say wibble, wibble, wibble (will you shut up, man?). His base - who appear to have moved well beyond jumping the shark - will cheer him to the echo. Allegedly, there is no COVID, just Bill Gates scamming over vaccines. It is what it is. I'm just hugging the grandchildren tight because they will be the ones paying for his ego to be stroked.

Hi Ian, I wouldn't worry about the supermarkets too much, it could have worsened in the telling.
They all must have written policy.

When I accessed the local hub in the spring there was a battery of questions. Re: age, were friends or family available etc.

So it wouldn't surprise me if resources are rationed.

Not worried - Waitrose emailed to say Julie will get priority access (other databases are available in all forms of normal. Gotta love Edgar Codd and all his relations)

Marjorie and I get ours at the pharmacy at 10.00 tomorrow.
I hope its the same number of varieties as the doctors vaccine.
The doctors are a pain, they should go on age but they go on the alphabet and we are W.
The only way to bypass this is to arrange it at the pharmacy. Ian will tell you it's the register effect. What really fooled one was when the teachers started at the end of alphabet but the surgery won't!

I think daughter said it takes two weeks for the vaccine to work fully.

These A4's were almost living breathing machines when they passed through Newark at full chat pulling the Capitals Limited non stop from Kings Cross to Edinburgh Waverly.
They need to be in steam and moving to be appreciated
I saw a lot of old men in tears when we went to the A4 exhibition at Shildon.

I drew them, but very badly.

The flying Scotsman was supposed to be going to Skegness last Saturday or so we were led to believe I had planned to drive over and take a few photos but it has now been postponed for another indeterminate date so that was a wash out.

By the end of my time there was no register just fingerprint sign in. Black market for fingertips in some parts:angelic:

Yes the A4 class. We also saw them all together with our grandson at Shildon. The Sir Nigel Gresley is in the repair sheds at Grosmont still awaiting spares I think. Mrs Miggins used to be one of the Station Managers there. Interestingly, they can’t go all the way to Whitby because the wheels are too large for the tight bend into that town.
Hi Dunelm.
How are they doing this year with Covid19?

It came up the Settle Carlisle a few years ago and we saw it coming out the Eden valley.
I don't like the double blast pipe and German smoke deflectors, the A3s looked much better in the 1950s!
Then I would say that wouldn't I? :)
