Good morning all. I do hope none of you are as as vexed as I am over how to celebrate the Translation of King Edward appropriately. @dunelm may I have a word regarding your lack of respect for both our Dear Leader and disparagement of the honourable Jammy Dodger for West Suffolk?. I'll have you know, young sparrow me owl, my MP is heading the world leading response to just about everything. @lindisfel stunning photo of sunset oop North and I too smelled an air of desperation regarding imminent relief of Mafeking via vaccine. Some would say realism but to hell with remoaner naysayers. @geefull hug for your troubles with anxiety but wonderful art and bags of spirit - you are a winner, gal. Independent elderly parents? Julie's 90 yo knee and hip replaced (second time round) and I didn't know I'd had a minor stroke (or 2?) is in the process of moving to within 5 min walk of us and No 1 son but is bringing plants, greenhouse(s?) etc and just bought another car:arghh: @Krystyna23040 saw the story of that party and thought how do you expect students to pay £10k? agree with @SlimLizzy - not likely to deter many. Bank of mum and dad will cough up as per.@Muddy Cyclist wonderful cake and fbg - perhaps a repeat performance? Many more deserve honourable mentions and I apologise but my tea awaits - very rare that.
Update: Along with MIL i too forgot her AF

Morning...interesting turn of events the back door lock has jammed & the garden doors will not open so locksmith called...the cats do not understand 'the door won't open sorry' and are driving me crazy...I've opened the upstairs window they have previously jumped from there to the garden fence...little Lola has done just that Charlie is still mulling it over...I am counting to ten over & over again more coffee needed...puzzled by the briefing yesterday & the continued claim the government are following the science...if the SAGE Panel recommended a shut down three weeks ago clearly they are not following the science...why is it the most notable members Whitty & Vallance attend the daily briefings & support them?...no FBG I was (understandably) distracted this morning...keep safe everyone

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and all who are living in interesting times.

A 6.3 this morning on the meter of mystery and misbehaving.

Well fellow posters and painters I hope you have a great day, look for the silver lining in the clouds, then nick it, sell it and spend the dosh on the alcohol of your choice.

Well a lot is being said about the covid measures being put in place by this government. Best thing is not read and watch what is being said by the media. As for the political stance taken by a few, best ignore them. That's my take on things, like it or lump it.

I must go now and cause chaos and mayhem elsewhere.

Just come back from having the flu jab, after being unexpectedly offered one this weekend (not at my doctors surgery, but at another location). I was ushered along a corridor and told to wait. Then told to go to this room. A nurse came to me. It was by an open door to outside, which had a high chain link fencing on the other side of the path. I was jabbed. Given a clear face mask, and told to wear that instead of my mask which she told me was not good for my asthma. She said mine was too close to my face and nose for breathing...

I have never seen this nurse before, she does not know me. There were a few names highlighted in yellow on her list, and my name was highlighted in yellow.

None of this malarkey about having to sit down and wait after the flu jab for 15 minutes or so in case you have anaphylactic shock. I was chucked out of the door into the fresh air, but not before being told I had to self isolate for two weeks because of the flu jab, and because it doesn't take for 14 days. And I could become very ill and catch the flu in that 14 days. And because of Wales and Covid.

I had no prior warning I was to self isolate because of the flu jab. I didn't have any fresh food shopping in. I had been going to do it after the jab. I was out anyway, so got fresh food in. Glared evilly at anyone who tried to invade my 2metre space. And came home.

Has anyone else who had the fu jab been told to self isolate for 14 days?

I haven't had one yet but it a journey into the unknown since the rise of CV-19 gennepher

I shall await any details of your flu jab, if you dare have one...

Has the locksmith freed you from jail yet? Or do you need a file and hairgrips?

Good morning everyone from a three tiered victoria sponge cake rule of six reggae dub of a morning in the dark and dangerous north.

The wonder wheel of slow roasted lamb and a coaxing of mint sauce came in at 4.9 this am

A mixed bag of weather yesterday but did manage to get a couple of loops round the park without a drenching. Sloes out of the freezer and into some gin, bread making and a dozen cheese scones.

Some interesting heat seeking graphics from Jonny Van Tam yesterday before a melange of unrelated words, interspersed with the odd greko-latin burp from buffoon city.

Still, all will be revealed today when the house has “debated” the odd phrase by taking it in turns to stand up (sometimes remotely) and blather on about totally pointless items interspersed with words like “furlough”, “tier”, “guidance”, “museums”, “trains” and “the honourable Jammy Dodger for West Suffolk”. I shall be doing what I have done for the best part of this year - avoiding people, getting phobic about hand washing and wondering why my old Zorro mask is now not fit for purpose.

Some ink on some rice paper, trying to be frugal with the brush. I wish you the best day that you can have. Koffy

Oh Genn...it was a looking so good.

Have flu jab each year, never been told to isolate..been warned it may have an effect (feeling poorly) not sure it's ever really affected me.

Nothing mentioned this year by my regular chemist, when giving the shot.
He's most knowledgeable and pro active, so didn't, just went about my business as usual.
Great news is you GOT a jab...even if the rest seems like a comedy of errors.

Good afternoon@gennepher. I have been having the flu jab for years at my GP surgery and have never been told that it takes 14 days to become effective but hubby has been told this in the past when he had his flu jab at the local pharmacy. I had mine a few weeks ago with no after effects at all. Best wishes.:)

And I am not.
I usually have a sore tender slightly swollen arm by now, but nothing this time.

While she was jabbing my arm I was facing that chain link fencing through the open door to outside, and the thought of the film The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas came to mind...
