What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Good morning everyone from the calm after the storm in the dark and dangerous north

The wonder wheel is still in hiding - I will fit the new one when my brand new round tewit turns up.

Lovely blow out yesterday with a good paced stomp round the park. Very few people about but a few children excitedly charging about on new sets of wheels. Five swans a swimming on the lake, disappointing that they did not know the lyrics. The three cygnets are now equal in mass to their parents (at least at sea level and not counting the gravitational pull of the planets) although they still have their mottled plumage.
Video chat with mother - she is determined (again) never to do roast goose with all the trimmings from now on. Pretty sure she made that statement last year - and the year before that.
Not sure that I am with it. Made a cafetière of koffy and only when I had fitted the lid did I notice that I had put in a tea bag instead of koffy. Oh well.
Art today - bit of a doodle on procreate. Have a wonderful day if you can. Must attempt a decent koffy.

Needs an 'Oh Dear' emoji for Koffy disaster.

You are with it enough for some nice art production, I like the subtle colour and strong row of trees then the boatman to give some perspective.

Excellent, moody piece. The water and the colour scheme takes me back to the opening sequence of BBC Arena. You need to persevere with those biscuits. A great many people involved in their manufacture, packaging design and delivery are relying upon your steadfastness.
Thanks for the painting compliments @dunelm
:)

Yes, I will single handedly keep the dark chocolate biscuit industry going...

Maybe this might help....

A great doodle in Procreate @dunelm

5.2 this morning. Wet and windy at the moment so we will delay our dog walk until the rain stops.

My new coat is so warm - ideal for the weather at the moment. Scott of the Antarctic would have loved my coat.

Delicious home cooked Keralan meal last night, followed by icecream and a late snack of dark chocolate coated biscuit.
Disturbed night with plenty wind and rain, far too much getting in and onto the bed. This morning we have no mains power, Errant is most put out by this, he expects me to sit at computer and provide laptime and is vocal in his disapproval. However , the boiler fired up immediately so we are warm, the bed is drying out and we do have battery power, sufficient to run lights.
No breakfast this morning, but am about to have second CWC.
Enjoy your day peeps, keep warm and safe.

Good morning everyone. Wonderful art @gennepher and @dunelm. Great fbgs @Muddy Cyclist @karen8967 and @Krystyna23040. Enjoy the family meet up @Muddy Cyclist. @SlimLizzy full of admiration for how you remain so upbeat with the damp and other privations. As for dark chocolate biscuits feel free to eat mine or leave them with me for safe keeping absolutely none will be eaten by me - ever. New Swipey still waking up so I'm letting sleeping fbgs lie. @lindisfel I too was puzzled how a religion and society whose Patriarchs were shepherds, rich with teachings based on understanding that - Psalm 23 for one - could effectively ostracise them. Anyhow, may I wish you all a day replete with those things which are requisite and necessary, as well for the body as the soul.

Picnic on the common sounds like a great way to get to see each other and as you say, could be the future. Smashing composition, I do like Willows. A good number in our park were planted in the 1930’s - some have been coppiced, some pollarded and some storm damaged stumps have risen like the phoenix.

Hi dunelm,
It is interesting that most of our trees will grow from being coppiced, cut right back to grow from being much reduced.
It was apparently because trees evolved alongside the mega fauna which humans wiped out.
Imagine meeting the extinct Straight-tusked Elephant in the area that is now London... the bones of one was found under Trafalgar Square.
They, much larger than their African cousins pulled down trees to eat their vegetation, so trees learnt to cope by evolving the regeneration capacity, according to some biologists.
In the north in the tundra they must have rubbed shoulders with the mammoths.

I often try to see that former world in my minds eye, before we ravaged the mega fauna.

good morning all :)

4.6 yesterday and 4.1 today

and I ate such a lot of 'stuff' yesterday :hilarious:

freezing cold here this morning with a beautiful sky, however, the rose tinted clouds are flying by, better than yesterday's continuous rain though :joyful:

It's Sunday, I have to remind myself, I woke up expecting Monday yesterday after doing Christmas lunch at Mum's, if you see what I mean :D

Hope your day is treating you well :)

@JohnEGreen - sensitive and thoughtful picture from Adrian :)

@ianpspurs - I particularly enjoyed yesterday's poem, lovely and thought provoking :)

@dunelm - your Christmas day sounded delightful and I like your festive gnomes
Today's sketch has so much serenity within it, a fine sketch :)

@gennepher - I haven't been to Betws-y-coed for a lot of years :sorry: Good call on the sky and I really like the colours you've infused into the waterfall :joyful: and an interesting picture this morning with lovely colours running in those fluid foreground waves :)

@Muddy Cyclist - Your outdoor festivities sound excellent :D .
Your tree sketch is very fine, I enjoy it, the perspective is strong and those pollarded willows have great presence :joyful:

I think Jesus saw the centre of the problem, "You were the ones that killed the prophets!"

There is a real lesson to be taken by ourselves, Ian, is as you always strive to live.

The kind of compassion people who many who profess no faith or little, also show! ....

Immense empathy and help for their fellow man.

You are a very wise chap and it has been an immense blessing and joy to have been here with you. Peace be with you and The Duchess. I pray you don't go anywhere until I have been able to drink deep from your well.

Thank you.

I do like your watercolour today, great sense of grandeur and distance and some very good use of foreground with its variety of greens.

On visiting son later today I'm going to take another walk by those Willows and get some quick sketches done, I hope the late afternoon light is stron, need the drama.

You are too kind, Ian.
I am an infant trying to walk.
i have been on a very long journey that you would find difficult to comprehend! ;)
Best wishes to you, yours, and everyone.
Derek
