What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen from a grandchildren infested Tilehurst Towers.

A late night sausage snacking 6.8 this morning.

Well the day is a voyage into the unknown, I think I shall name today as the voyage of the dawn mayhem.

Treats to plan, sneaking them past the ever watchful eye of their nanny ( Mrs J ), supervised woodworking, light saybers to finish and paint, climbing frames to climb, go carts to make go.
Whoops their mother is now checking up, I shall tell the truth, but omit the naughty bits hehehehehe

Stay etc, etc, etc.
Haver a wonderful play day

9.00am FBG 5.9 am hoping this is DP, due to ignoring usual waking time and going back to sleep. Have now managed 2 LC days in succession. Today will not be LC.
MrSlim is cooking for some friends. French lunch. Which means four courses.
My starter will be presented in a little glass dish. Everyone else gets theirs in a pastry case.
And he has made me a cauliflower dish to replace the delicious looking potatoes dauphinois. Which helps.
Am I being ungrateful? Possibly. Anyway I had better try to be useful now.

The grass is always more delicious when wrapped in pastry but always have some treats - wine springs to mind.

Sounds as though today requires a mahoosive group hug for humings and felines. Cut fingers, overbooked Pilates, #foodgate, moody days ( Danny Dyer ???) and generally dealing with The D in Woosterworld:arghh: I intend to drink my tea, eat my salad - with avo-, ogle Ho, ho,ho lympics, cricket and rugby, move about somewhat, fit a new sensor and sleep. Have a spiffing day chums but respect "the situation"
Enjoy the sports - forgot to mention - small thing really, house went on market last Friday - sold today - am I a vagrant?

Good morning everyone from a quiet after the rain start here in the dark and dangerous north
The wonder wheel of supervising Mr Pickle to make a bolognese sauce came in at 5.3 this am

Cut my middle finger on left hand ( not looking what I was doing making small dice carrot) and then an annoying cut on my right thumb (micro grating parmesan) - touch typing has never felt this good. The life of a Commis Chef is fraught with with danger.

Art bit - my mother commented yesterday that there is a saying in Chinese painting and it is this; “leave enough space in your painting for a horse and cart”. OK mum, here you go. Have a fabulous Saturday if you can. I need some koffy.

Hugs for the damaged appendages @dunelm

Well, you got your horse and cart in!
Interesting trees...

Congratulations on the speedy house sale. Downsizing, bigger palace with more social distance or just fancy a move (abroad)? Absolutely none of my business but we are virtual friends.
Smaller house - two flights of stairs may become an issue in a few years time - and then there is the potential for flooding in some coastal areas if the sea continues to rise at the same rate: https://coastal.climatecentral.org/

Just went out earlier to buy some eggs, and a hot cooked chicken.
No eggs???
No hot cooked chicken, nor chicken portions.
Why? I asked.
There's been none for weeks he said.

You mean even hens go on a summer holiday? I asked.
No reply.

Can I get you anything else ? He said.

All that was on the hot cooked meat counter were ham shanks and Cumberland sausages. It was virtually empty at 9:30am this Saturday morning. It is usually mostly full of chicken.
Two Cumberland sausages and a ham shank I replied.

It looks like the poor pig doesn't get a holiday like the chicken appears to...

Hug for the lack of poultry produce but such fun for the attitude.

Don't know if I would manage it Ian?...
been here since 1966.
I am hoping when I leave I will go as a boxed set! ;)
Technically, I was there for at least some part of the year from June 1955 until Feb 2020. It is the space around me I miss most. I think I pressed the panic button too early on hearing the C word. I don't "do" people too well except very close family, sports team colleagues and last Church congregation. How is the eye these days?

The eye is doing ok, Ian, thank you. I just have one eyed glasses atm but the right will need some astigmatism correction.
I go back to Preston monday so hopefully I get an ok.

Blood pressure dropping way down after meals still and smaller meals not a fix.

Perhaps not eating is the answer, like the donkey they got to eat less and less, until when it got to live on nothing it turned its big and only walking toes up. :)

I feel rubbish when bp right down, no energy. Doctors dont seem to have an answer, just its a problem with the elderly.

Will run it across Helen today when we zoom. I dont think she has an answer.

Hope you feel more settled soon.
Derek

good morning everyone from an overcast day with vague promises of light rain at noon here in the dark and dangerous north
The wonder wheel of Mr Pickles famous supervised steaks came in at 5.4 this am.
Bavette steaks (or flank if you will) - one quarter of a stock cube (I use oxo) crumbled and rubbed into each side, then a dribble of oil. Leave for 20 minutes and then two and a half minutes on each side - rest in the plate warming drawer - easy as wink. Peppercorn sauce, sparrow-grass, green beans and chips (six for me - boo hoo).

Lots of guests adding to the laundry pile here; youngest son still hanging about trying to get his newly purchased house in order, Mr Pickle who will be going home today after his footy match and the girl in the bubble seeing if a Saturday stay over is any different from any other night.

Art bit - thought I would do some trees - I like trees, here’s on. Have a smashing Sunday, koffy time here.

Own up, which one of you is harbouring the malefactor who stole summer? No guesses as to my chief suspect:angelic: Gap week for Swipey (or summer going awol) may be implicated in other key variables performing well in the medals table. Resting pulse and weight are currently in a sweet spot - wonder where bg is and how one calculates the overall performance?. Is this a Kierin, Madison or Omnium? Low carbing plus monitoring may well be necessary but absolutely not sufficient for broader wellbeing, although that is pandering to my long held bias. Besides, cherries are divine. Have the most joyous time with your son, Mr Pickle and The GITB @dunelm. I hope today's walk and vital sausage roll for Mr K is outrageously wonderful @Krystyna23040. Stock brined chicken roasted in a bag - reduced by W.....se- for Sunday lunch with wife and MIL here. Is that methane friendly? After our COVID quick test yesterday we all visited the new dinky P. Granddad gave a masterclass in totally chilling out the little chap. Why, I even drank a small glass of celebratory bubbles. Mayhap I shall try champagne today since it is drink or pour away for all this alkeroll littering the place - I had no idea we had champagne (W.....se, natch) loitering around until madam hove into view with a few.:banghead: Y'all have a good day now - old Forest Heath phrase. I'm slowly picking up the dialect.:angelic:

4.0 this morning. Probably the last really low fbs for the rest of August as a break from classes until 2nd September. It will be really interesting to see what happens to fbs during that time.

Yesterday was really 'full on'. Thank goodness for whey protein powder as I only had a five minute break which was just long enough to add water to it and gulp it down and my energy levels didn't flag until I finished at 6pm.
