What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

@ianpspurs I have it on setting 1 or 2 Ian. Any more is too hot for me.

When I bought it a few years ago (2019 I think), the advertising blurb on the plastic bag itself and even in the Argos catalogue (mine is a single size), said it would cost 1p a night in electricity. I did think that was a hopeful estimate at the time...

So your guess is as good as mine what it uses now with inflation....I just multiplied 1p by 10, as a wild guess with current rates of inflation inflation.

Now I have a smart meter, I can see it barely makes a difference to the electricity used.

Feel free to correct me ...what does it claim now?
I got Lauren one just before winter set in .

Haven't really noticed the expense at all.

And is it warm & how does it feel....?

Not a Scoobies ..

Haven't had been able to peel her off it long enough to try... :hilarious:

Maybe my turn is in the summer months ;)

FBG 8.9 (3.45 am) Tea with milk and pills with yoghurt. BG 10.4 at 6.30 am.
But then:
More tea with milk, low carb breakfast, more tea with milk. BG 6.4.
Glass of milk (really giving the milk a thorough try out). BG 5.0.
Lunch (insulin) chicken mayo sandwich (ordinary bread). BG 4.4.
Another glass of milk. BG 3.4.
And then a rise to 4.0.
Have to think about what that all means, but I don't think it means milk is a no no.
Tomorrow is a zero cow's milk day - just to confirm.
It doesn't look as though milk is a no no which is really good news.

Had an accident on the way home from Norwich. Really shaken up but luckily no one injured.

It was my fault and I can't believe I could have done it as I am such a careful driver. The lorry driver was just so nice about it and stayed with me until a friend could get Mr K there and drive me and my car home.

Mr K is doing his best to make me feel better about it.

Hug for the way you are feeling right now but accidents happen. It's in the nature of the beast. Try not to beat yourself up over it - I know that's hard, but it doesn't do any good. It happened, it's over and can't be changed. Maybe a lesson to be learned but other than that, draw a line under it and move on.

Thank you @Annb that is very good advice.

So sorry to hear that

How distressing, no matter how it happened .

Nice how managed it all was after.

I hope a day or two helps put it all into perspective.

No one wants an accident.

But when it's one everyone walk away from, that's the kind to have.

Pray you have a peaceful night's sleep.

And bravo Mr K .

Not all heroes wear capes.

I would like to thank you again. Before I read your post I was really beating myself up over the accident. My mind had really gone into overdrive but I was then able to draw a line under it and had a really good night's sleep.

Another day time wildlife video.
Cat Merlin still here.
I would say he was integrating with the animal life here, whether wild or cats.
He leaves the birds alone which I am pleased with.
The male blackbird eats as many cat biscuits as he can from the end of the swing.
The small birds are eating away off the ground as well. The robin goes under the swing and comes out with a piece of food.

Creative was started in ZenBrush3 and finished in Procreate, but it was taking too long and I ran out of time, and my tablet battery was about to die, so this is it, finished or not...

Time for a cuppa.

Have your best day.

Shaken but no injury - and today is another day - hugs for the shake up, hope you are OK today.

Good morning everyone and welcome to my sunny day here in the dark and dangerous north. The sun stayed out all day yesterday and with hardly a breeze, a pleasant 4 mile walk which included a late breakfast at our favorite cafe. Youngest son’s birthday today. He takes to wearing odd socks as he was born in Odstock Hospital in Salisbury. He only started doing it after that event. Spotted our favourite alcoholic in a pub last week. He’s quite old, lives in sheltered accommodation and we have not seen him since lockdown and thought that he must be dead. Despite his love of cheep beer, he is a smashing bloke and we spent some time catching up. Funny how things can make your day. Art bit - a building of some sort. Lord of The Rings does Dali. Hope you all have a pleasant day. Time for some koffy.

Thank you - I am OK today. I was really lucky and am trying to focus on that rather than going over what could have happened.

Blood sugars went absolutely crazy yesterday. Interesting to see just how much stress can affect BS levels.

FBG (3.30 am) 13.7 - that's on the Libre - 15.9 on the fingerprick.
Barely able to hobble around and in really serious pain so I took a larger dose of painkillers to try to deal with it. Tried to sleep in my big chair but started to feel really ill and decided to go back to bed. Managed to sleep for another 3 hours.
BG at 7 am 14.6 (Libre) - didn't check with fingerprick, but assume it must mean about 16.6 - the readings are about 2 whole points different at the higher levels (0.2 at lower levels).
Took a correction dose to bring it down and some water. 8.8 at 8.50 am.
That's quite a different pattern from the last 2 days, but we'll see how it goes during the day.

Good to know you are not hurt. The shakiness might last a little while. MrK is a superstar- so many men would not be so understanding.
So a hug and a winner♥️

Extra hugs for you @Krystyna23040
I am glad you are safe x

Like @Annb says...don't beat yourself up over it.

Ah - outside again. Looking good. Meant to say (but I think I forgot) yesterday's work was terrific. The way you use colour makes so much difference to a piece of art. Looking forward to more on this one.

Morning all as we, if only virtually, join each other on this section of the pilgrimage. Always better when companioned. Since yesterday was bright blue skied and clear all day this morning was very much like this - the less dewy eyed version of all those gooey photos. @Krystyna23040 hug for the accident and impact on your inner calmness but winner for the safe outcome and sound night's sleep. Not by chance that Mr K is the one for you one feels. @Annb hug for the pain and potential impact on bg managemenet. @dunelm thanks for sharing the new artwork and lovely story of seeing the man in the pub. Nice little insight into who you are and what you are about. Wonderful aroma from the trivet and beef when I came downstairs. Initially a divine smell from long, slow, gently roasting garlic which morphed into an almost spiritual fragrance of beef. Thanks be to God for the wonder and love of His creation and His blessing upon us as a family. Thanks to the animal for giving its life for our food and all involved in doing His work so we may share His bounty. May be more later but grandchildren have arrived for family swimming and lovely as y'all are you don't cut it in comparison - no offence intended.
