@SlimLizzy 85 Tomato plants!!!

I only have 8!
I am transplanting two tomato plants today...
I am not supposed to eat them, but I love a tomato for a treat on a hot summers day, and they are sun kissed all the way through!
I know. Always overplant in case of failure to germinate. Too tenderhearted to destroy a healthy looking seedling, so sometimes get more than needed. Then there were the beautiful traditional variety tomatoes I bought. Had no idea if any seeds would germinate so planted six or more of each variety. There are 7 varieties, plus the 3 types I grew from packaged seed. Then I realised none of the above are cherry type and there were seedlings growing in the pots previously occupied by the red and yellow cherry toms. So those had to be rescued and put in pots before the used compost was dug into the garden... thus 85 tomato plants. Don't get me started on what happened, or didn't, with the peppers. Currently 9 plants and two bunches of seedlings. Plus several pots planted with packet seeds that appear to have failed for the second time

The balance is, not to think you can do all of it like you used to or as much as you can before you stop.
Someone gave me this bit of advice about 15 years ago... and it is to 'to do something like 3 to 5 minutes at a time', then stop, maybe have a cup of tea, and try again later.
I can hear you grumbling that won't get the job done!
But at least you are still breathing on this Earth ready to do the next bit.
It may end up taking a few days, but at least you are still here, and here for Marjorie.

I still haven't given in to this advice gracefully, but I do stick to it most of the time @lindisfel

And I am still here to mither you all....
Thank you so much gennepher that was the kind of sensible advice I was looking for!
Shalom to you
Derek

Quite a few packet seeds fail.

This year I had to plant many extra nasturtium seeds.
And about 1 in 8 grew.
Not good innings is it?
Years ago they self seeded like nobody's business.

Sigh...

Good afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen and those who struggle to accept the messages their body is giving them, a big failing of me, me’s and myself.

Blood sugars this morning were 5.5

Firstly a hug for @ianpspurs , I sincerely hope you did not get your pockets picked yesterday.

I finally managed to get 2 rides on my motorcycle yesterday was 42 miles and the day before was 18. Mrs J has banned me from riding today and later we are consuming bbq fodder, that’s going to blow my blood sugars along with the fodder timing.

Sorry but it is now time for my afternoon nap, a privilege granted to the old and according to Mrs J grumpy.

Stay safe
Thanks Alf but it was my way of saying I thought a liberty was taken with all the "add on" charges for nearly everything apart from walking around looking at a few farm animals. Wasn't made clear when buying a family ticket. I hope the bbq went well.

Today was a sort out phones day. We took phones in to EE in Norwich (not WE as predictive text insists on calling them).

While waiting for them to transfer we shopped in Notcutts and Lakeland and then had a coffee. There was a problem with the transfer so we came back home as doggies needed lunch.

Went back later to pick up phones. Everything transferred but of course there were some passwords to enter. Haven't quite finished them all but the most important are done - my Fitbit app and the email accounts. It did take me longer than I thought it would.

Thank goodness that EE did all the transferring of apps, contacts, messages, what's app etc etc and I have only had to add a few passwords.

Making you right, there .

Not sure if you've seen it but les miserables inn keeper (master of the house scene ) making up of the bill, may have been their inspiration...10% for looking out the window twice....haha

(Google, as it has rather rude sections in it )

Generational picture sounded delightful.
Can almost hear the excited chitter chatter & babbling of everyone getting into place.

Enjoy.

Hi @Krystyna23040

I might not have understood that correctly, but having gotten our personal data, back up & running on various versions of Laurens company phones (apple) for her personal use, and various incarnations of droid for me, I wonder if you use the cloud ?

All I do for both is back up old phone, follow new phone instructions, Insert old SIM, then allow the install/back up to process from cloud to phone.

It can take a while but it moves all my old messages, WhatsApps, contacts, passwords etc over to our new phones, usually within the hour, if not much sooner.

Of course if you are buying new phones and using that assigned number, the process might be different.

At least it's all done, and new phones ready to whizz around it's daily tasks ....

(As if any phone of yours would ever be different from your modus operandi. ;) )

Kalimera team

An overcast 'might be sunny, might not' sort of day yesterday.

Our intention was to skip breakfast & indulge in a leisurely lunch instead.

A tad early for lunch, we had a drink enjoying the views while we waited that half hour to midday.

A lovely older couple we'd met earlier, asked to join us.
( They had been full of insight about the local area & eager to share it.)

Cue our plans changing as we joined them for lunch at their fav restaurant.

A delightful afternoon.
Conversation flowed, as did the wine, as we nibbled our way through a gorgeous Greek messe of titbits.

I was Inspired & in awe of them both.

Gent 82, lost sight in one eye, potentially at risk of losing sight in other, had similar leg break to mine, aged 16, still full of life, zipping around the town.
Put my woes in perspective.

Lady 75, explained a personal tragedy , they had lost a daughter (early 30's) to substance abuses , despite the years, far too easy to see the massive hurt & hole that loss left in her life.

We all swapped stories, and understood how that opportunity to unburden with strangers is so helpful.

It sounds like an awful day, reading back, but honestly one of my nicest moments.

The sheer tenacity & resilience of both was just so inspiring.

God willing Lauren & I are blessed with just some of their inner strength.

And long may they continue to enjoy sharing their knowledge & company so joyfully.

Fbg a 7.2 this AM.

Wildlife Camera
Midnight objects to Ginger Cat on the swing....

Creative is of an Ox-Eye daisy started painting in Procreate and fartnarkled in Distressed FX.

The camera in the kitchen to watch the cat food, was running last night. I have just looked at the SD card. One minute the tray of cat food was there at the end of the previous clip, but it was gone before the next clip began recording. So, in the 3 or 4 seconds, or whatever it takes for the camera to begin recording, the thief had been and gone, and I had a 3 minute clip of nothing .

Time for a cuppa and a nap.

Have your best day.

Nasturtiums did self seed this year but too early in February so the later frosts in March got most of them. I have about four growing now and am treating them as if they are rare and special.

Have tried this. Managed to give away 8 tomato plants and a padron pepper plant. Others say they are over supplied themselves, or they don't do gardening. Am thinking of putting a table by the gate with a sign, "GRATIS"

Good morning everyone from a cool and cloudy start to the day here in the dark and dangerous north. FB 5.3 at 0730. There is a squirrel on a bird feeder across the road. Cheeky thing has it all worked out and is having a whale of a time. Girl In The Bubble yesterday so it was down through the woods on her trike. Picked garlic leaves and a few of the flowers. Most have already turned and the leaves won’t last much longer. The toot toot sound of the miniature railway came through the trees so we had to get on and do the return trip from the woods down to the coast - it’s about 10 minutes. Saw a couple of sparrow hawks from the cliff path, wonder if they were a breeding pair - where would the nest be? Just over 5 miles. Art bit - coming along. Hope everyone has a pleasant day. My kofee is now brewed and ready to be poured.

Maybe that is what happened to mine then @SlimLizzy

It doesn't take much to wipe out a whole crop does it?
I use them for salad leaves and the flowers too.
