What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

it is a bit damp here, quite a concerted effort by the weather gods to keep us indoors.
B een shops, been chores, been showered even tho it was Mrs L showering, been sorting her pad again, the television again for her, and a lot of tea for her.
wasn't a good night, Mrs L was restless, so I was restless, and a slightly sore neck, sore back and legs, cos I once again, done too much, and, I shouldn't, but what can I do?
Footie tonight, so you won there from me again too much pre ko to do.
I wish everyone a better start to the week.

Had a bit of an adventure this afternoon decided to go for a spin on my mobility scooter on the local trail through Brierly woodland park then the scooter packed in basil y in the middle of nowhere so Keiran had to come and rescue me Melody was with me on her push bike Keiran brought my wheelchair Melody had to push me in wheelchair back to the road where Keiran had parked the car while Keiran pushed the scooter and Mel’s bike back to the car scooter and wheelchair went in the boot and we came back in car while Mel road her bike back so bit of a stressful afternoon.

Good job Mel was with you and Keiran was able to collect you both along with the scooter. Sounds as though everyone returned home safely if slightly frazzled by the experience.

Yes all worked out in the end even though I had to push the scooter a distance before Key arrived so was a bit exhausted when got home the annoying thing is I replaced the batteries with new one the other day and they were fully charged when we set out so have no idea why the scooter died just went from moving to dead stop in an instant time to get a new one I think.

I'd left my little hand-held alarm in the kitchen by mistake and I was very wary that I would fall and have no means of alerting Neil. That's why so slow. I'll have to make my way across the kitchen now to take some more.

I'm using the keyboard to try to get my fingers moving. It hurts, but they are beginning to loosen up. Oh dear, this 80th year of mine isn't going well!

Rather than store your analgesics together in one place @Annb, it might be safer and more convenient to divide them between bedroom and kitchen, so that pain relief and a drink to wash down the tablets are always within easy reach.

I do hope this latest arthritis flare up settles down soon and you start to feel better. I take it you've been advised to drink plenty of water even if you don't feel thirsty.

I've had that happen a few times, the mobility scooter died on me, despite full batteries @JohnEGreen and I had to push it back to the car. Exhausted. Now, I don't trust the scooter....I just use it for local shops...no expeditions where I used to carry a snack and a flask of tea...my current one is about 8 years old....next one will have a lithium battery....these conventional batteries too heavy to carry. But many of the lighter weight mobility scooters don't have a key

Fbg 6.1 at 5.00 am had very little sleep think I overdid it trying to push that scooter yesterday so in pain from hip down leg to foot hopefully it will ease up soon.
Had INR tested yesterday and dressing changed nurse thinks wound is now longer wider and deeper and that’s not making sleeping any easier. Hopefully when I get to see tissue viability nurse they may come up with a solution I told them don’t make the appointment this Thursday or Friday as will be going to the funeral what did they do made the appointment for Friday so it has had to be changed for next week.
 
Good morning everyone on a damp start to the day as we move up the River Tyne to where we will soon be docking. 5.0 this a.m. and despite all the food on offer on this trip, my blood sugars have behaved impeccably. Sugar free deserts on offer - nice! It’s been a bit damp at times but we don’t mind. We came prepared and although waterproof coats were well used, shorts and t shirts remained packed. Art bit, moving down the fjord at twilight from the town of Flåm. Far too much to catch up on but hope that you are all as well as you can be. I shall make koffy in my travel cafetière and then wake Mrs Miggins up - it’s an early breakfast and then we will all be wondering where we parked our cars.

Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and those who are suffering trials and tribulations.

Blood sugars this morning were an astounding 6.1 if I told you why I would have to end your existence on this the third rock from the sun.

Back in the hospital mode again, today will be number seven out of twenty treatments.
The joys and privileges of age and the body extracting revenge for all the abuse we subjected our bodied to or too in our younger days. Never mind and memories, ah such memories.

Now I must go. Have a great day all and a smile costs nothing and gives so much.

Mobility scooters, you can get some really motorcycle looking ones these days :-) .

Good morning all on another dry and mild - 28C high - day here in L.A. Childcare duties again here starting with a 6.30 trip into Cambs for JKP to collect 2. The day's duties will end with feeding four grandchildren and 3 or 4 additional adults. From next week the school gate run begins again slightly changed until I can drive again. We (by God's grace) then feed 10/11, including extra for adults as lunch the next day, every other Tuesday and 7 every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday every week. My meal is usually totally different. @JohnEGreen hugs for the pains caused by yesterday's exertions and that wound. @alf_Josiah I hope this round of treatments goes smoothly and works as planned. @dunelm good news on your bg behaving impeccably and thank you for sharing the wonderful art. We were randomly informed that ducks go pop easily by our 3 year old grandson who was happily munching his toast at the time. Priceless and likely to be the highlight of my day. Enjoy your day

I came to that conclusion this morning when I had a similar problem to yesterday's. As it happened, Neil was in the kitchen at 05.00 and heard me coming, so stood by in case I fell. I didn't, so all was well. Took painkillers when I went to bed last night so slept a bit longer than usual (getting on for 5 hours). My right hand is still swollen but the pain has centred on the one finger (index) and the rest is no more than uncomfortable now. The left hand is another matter but I dug out an old sport support for the hand from my glove drawer. No idea where it came from, but there it was. It provides some good support and eases some of the pain. That's a winner for me.

I have never been advised to drink plenty of anything but came to the conclusion about 3 years ago that I wasn't drinking enough when I collapsed one evening and was put onto a drip in the hospital. I concluded that I must be short on fluids so decided to drink more from then on. Later I did see a notice somewhere advising drinking 2 litres of fluids a day, so I always try to make sure to have at least that. Sometimes I don't manage the full 2 litres. Not really sure whether drinking this amount is right for someone who has suspect kidney function and on diuretics, but nobody has ever given any advice on that.

BG at 05.00 was 5.8.
 
Another high 7.2. I just can't figure out why?
I had already booked next month's dsn appointment for Mrs L and myself. Blood tests next week. Also gonna sort out flu jab as well.

Mrs L woke up asking where youngest son was and why hadn't he come home?
I was floored, spent time trying to explain, but she wanted tea and breakfast, so it was up and down for her, and sort her meds and her ablutions. Her left leg was really painful.

The FiL had a scooter, he wouldn't use it, Mrs L didn't want it, I would rather walk.
batteries are not up to scratch for them, they need constantly bathing and won't hold a charge. IMO.
just don't be too adventurous with them @JohnEGreen.

Had a nice walk to the pharmacy, after the overnight and morning rain.
Then the shops.

Big shop for the weekend done.
Expecting #8 this afternoon, now the sun is out.

I am jealous of you @dunelm, I have seen the fjords once. And they are impressive.

Heatwave, don't make me laugh!
Not gonna surpass 18 degrees all over the weekend.

Attached is the Burnt Basque Cheesecake the Food Fairy made me - timetable changed due to a poorly dog - . A portion is 1/8 and analysis here. Haven't tasted it yet but 'twas @dunelm put the idea in my head so ...... The FF is now talking about getting the ice cream maker out to make (LC) strawberry ice cream to accompany the cheesecake. Tough old gig. Grandchildren in the hot tub so a good end to school holidays with us for the two oldest and all four spending time together is the best treatment for me. Always a feeling of missing those "lost" in Winchester.

Just back from my 2 appointments in town. Feet feeling much better now and I've discovered that the podiatrists do home visits. I'll make use of that service in future. Optomotrist says my eye problem is something she had difficulty pronouncing and which I couldn't catch. It wasn't ocular myasthenia but the symptoms are the same. Nothing to be done but keep an eye on it. When my eyelids droop so far that I can't see round them, they might intervene surgically. That, of course, might never happen. Also have little cataracts in each eye but nothing to worry about yet. Getting off lightly really.

BG seems to be remaining at reasonable levels today - in the 4-7 range.
 
It is now a beautiful evening not too hot, not too cold.
A sort of Goldilocks day.

#8 didn't appear, so a nice quiet afternoon. A bit of pruning and weeding.

Had to laugh at a tory, who suggested that the deal with Germany was brexit in reverse.
And we would be part of the best trading zone in the world soon.
I mentioned to Mrs L, that he should start a petition, as it's a great idea.

Not bad as you fearing the worst and having your BG steady low is great.
I viewed my small cataracts, after my opticians done the screening shot. They were no bigger than the last time. And the letter said no concern for anything else. But my eyes are steadily getting worse, due to being an old codger.
