What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Morning all. 4.9 here - right general postcode for me I guess. For those that are new here your sweet spot is highly individual so focus on your own journey which includes when to eat. Never mind the when the what is key imho. @Bcgirl thanks be to God you get to go to Mexico. Grandma/Granny/Nanny (whatevs) to be @PenguinMum focus on that grandchild not fbg. Your A1c is always spiffing anyhow. The rest of you play nice and share your toys - even with pedants. The UK already has enough slurry spreaders failing to run the country or spewing bile in the Australian jungle.

I don't have a cold, but am feeling the cold.
Feels like winter has arrived.
Now then, now then ,now then.
Reading on waking at 3.15 am. BG 5.5 mmol. Fantastic result , but.....Think that was too early and I went back to bed.
Bowl of Cereal and sleep for 4 hours gave me a 7.39amwaking reading of
17.6 mmol. That's a big ouch!

Ouch indeed! I don't eat regular cereal any more, it simply is too much for my defective endo system to cope with in the morning, particularly if combined with Dawn and Foot on Floor BG rises as well. A quick breakfast now usually revolves around yoghurt, rhubarb and berry fruits, topped with some seedy granola stuff. And I have discovered a product called keto porridge which is principally coconut and chia seeds but a blast in the microwave turns it into something resembling porridge - aka winter comfort food, diabetes style.

I need to discover something to replace cereal for sure. One small bowl put my Blood Glucose out of kilter for 10 hours.
Am back under 10mmol now 2pm , but been high for virtually half the day, just for a bit of cereal.
Your discovery of coconut and chia seeds would suit me well I'm sure.....

I usually post on the low chat thread but I have a question if thats ok?7.0 today.I was taken off linagliptin 1/11/23.since then,my numbers have risen from mainly 6s to mainly 7s.Dn said not to go back on them unless i start to see 9+ fbg.the other dn i saw said 15!! Are 7s ok?
Why have they taken you off linagliptin? Have they offered you anything else? IMO 7s and definitely 9s can cause long term damage. Have you tried to control your BG with low carb?

Taken off linagliptin due to hba1c being 45. Low carb(ish) but lost too much weight.Skin ans bone now!(and the skin is VERY wrinkly.

Unfortunately, the body adapts to the continued presence of an anti-diabetic drug like linagliptin, so stopping that medication is bound to lead to a rise in blood glucose readings in the first few weeks.

So far, you've done really well. Modest rises are to be expected at least in the short term. Given your low-carb lifestyle, your BGs should stabilise in time, but if you start to record 9s + on a regular basis, then I'd seek a medical view.

FBG 5.5 this morning. Could so easily be 6.6 though. I've not been posting as I have been having real issues with my glucose tester(s). I usually validate my results against a second meter but I am noting upto a whole point difference between the devices. I now don't know which glucose meter is the more accurate. Sadly my "trusty" meters seem no longer to be so trustworthy so I've decided to stick to one tester for the foreseeable and hope for the best because using both and trying to get consistent results is doing my head in! :banghead:

Hope you're all doing well and nice to see some new posters. :)

Hello @Ryhia and welcome back. Wondered where you were. It's lovely to see you here again.

Is this the Berberine effect…..a lovely 5.4 this morning! I’ve even seen two numbers in the 4’s, before meals, this week. Unheard of! Food continues to be ultra low carb, of course.
endoscopic ultrasound tomorrow….pretty sure it’s going to be ok.
