What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

Hello @flexi06

Historically I have been on the high side and twice in hospital
My meter goes up to 33.0 then if higher just says HI

59.4 is what they recorded in A&E one time and 48.7 the other I was in hospital for a week both times

Since being switched to Toujeo basal 2 years ago my average has plummeted thankfully so its working for me

For a fasting reading I would be happy with 5.0 to 7.5 but I’d also be happy if it was a little higher but remain in single figures

Type 1 and any Type 2 on insulin have to be a minimum of 5.0 to drive a car it’s the law besides if I have a reading say of around 4.5 or lower I can go hypo and start shaking.

So that’s my ideal range for fasting 5.0 — 7.5 and 8.5 2 hours after food

Thanks for this posting, it's very helpful to those of us who are injecting insulin and for various reasons cannot get some of the low readings that are posted. I have been told by my liver consultant that any morning fasting reading below 10 is OK for me.

The other point about driving below 5 is crucial, I just wonder how many people take that on board ?
Stay well

6.6 :) Glad I've come down a bit after struggling with highs and a pump error yesterday. I played a chess match yesterday, our team won 4-0 but it thoroughly over-excited me and I couldn't get back to sleep once I woke at 5am!
Congratulations on winning and commiseration on not being able to sleep - so all in all a hug

I think it's morning but it's a little dark to see.
My madam's a tadge higher than yesterday 5.9 but we're still in there. A regime change comes into force today.
I do hope the sun shines on us all to make for a great Bank holiday and the chances of that are????????

WELL GOOOODDD MORRRRRNING VIETNAAAAMM! I’ve just been out for a bracing constitutional and clocked up a nice bunch of steps to share on my other group- isn’t the mist beautiful? Nature is so awesome. Back to business- I am back in the 5’s club today at 5.6- ahhh relief- may all your numbers please you - whatever they may be.

good morning all :)

4.3 today

bit earlier today ;)
the sun is peeking out and the forecast says a fine day in prospect for my bit of North Scotland, which is quite unusual for a Bank Holiday, then fog tonight.

I'm fancying going round the woodland trail for my walk if they're right, it's lovely with the sun through the trees and the little wood anemones may be out.

Hope your day will a good one.

Good morning everyone. It promises to be very warm today in the flatlands. 4.9 today so control is slowly being established. Today will be a mixture of lawn mowing, dog walking, searching the local market for French Vanilla coffee and perfecting LC high fibre 100% choc caramel bars. I might even fit in an exercise session watching sport. Hopefully everyone will have good days, especially all who have a day off of work.
