What was your fasting blood glucose? (with some chat)

17.5 this morning
Hello Ms P1ckle. Good to see you on the forum. Forgive me for stating the bleedin' obvious, but have you checked the calibration of your meter? (special strip provided). Otherwise a visit to your health centre and a parallel BG test, yours and theirs, would give you some reassurance. Best wishes for your progress with the T2 condition and all the other far more important things in your life!

Morning all. 8.6 at 8.30 am. I was really hoping for a lower score this morning to quote to the nurse at my diabetic review appointment. I'm going to discuss delaying my increase of medication for a further 3 months citing my recent pain and stress as the cause of my HbA1c increase. Have the best day you can today. :)
Hope all goes well with the nurse and your very sensible points regarding mitigating circumstances are properly noted. Of course, you are fully entitled to decline extra meds and try a further 3 months anyhow.

Good morning all. Off to my GP in a minute to discuss the result of my last blood test.

Not much food yesterday (only one double decaffeinated espresso with cream, one pecan, and a tablespoon of guacamole, one quarter of a glass of red wine), and this has definitely helped fasting levels -- were 5.1 this morning and quickly dropped into the fours.

@DJC3 -- Happy birthday and enjoy your celebrations today. You are a wonderful person and so happy to have you on the forum.
@dogslife -- Keeping my fingers crossed for your appointment today. IMO, your suggestions are very sensible.
@Bubbsie and @Goacher55 -- Great that you are feeling much better today. @Bubbsie -- Good luck with your INR test, hope it turns out fine -- in spite off the flu/cold and all the medications.
@Traceymac23 -- Have a big hug. Hope you will get better soon.
@johnpol -- Hope the pump will help you avoid the many hypos you have been having lately.
@True Blue -- Empathize with you on the 24h-blood pressure monitor. When I had the same test, mine went off every 15 minutes during the day and every half hour at night. Decided to skip sleeping altogether rather than being woken up every half hour. They were surprised that they didn't see a dip in blood pressure during the night. Funnily, the nurse also thought that I should go to work (teaching) wearing the monitor -- would have definitely been a sight, having the device go off every 15 minutes in class, stop teaching, freeze, and wait for a couple of minutes until the measurement is done.

Have a great day, everyone.

Good Morening Ladies and Gentlemen and all who have work outside today, especially traffic wardens.
Well this morning a 6.6 snook out of the meter sniggering. 6.6 is ok for me.

Well folks it's raining in the great metropolis of Reading, Mrs J will be happy, she won't have to water her thousands of tubs and pots, slight exaggeration.
Have a good day folks, remember it'll soon be the day we can sack a politician.

Hand and foot note, a canvasser called yesterday afternoon, he won't be coming back anytime soon.

good morning all :)

4.8 today

Sun is out now and it looks lovely through the window ;) We had a frost last night though so I'm glad I didn't put any plants out at Mum's, her soil is pretty clayey and holds the cold more than ours which is sandy.

We may do some bits in our garden today if it stays wind free outside. Being near the sea has it's drawbacks when it comes to the 'breeze' :hilarious:

Hope your day treats you kindly :)

Good morning all,
The wanderer returns as I've been AWOL for a couple of weeks. Although my best intentions with keto slipped for a while, I am please to say my bg is still good...this morning 5.5 and yesterday 5.8. I even had a 4.1 yesterday afternoon before my dinner. My weight has stayed the same so it's good, I'm now focused again and going onwards and upwards ( or downwards in the case of bloods and weight)

Morning everyone. 5.4 just delivered. A bit full in length but good line - corridor of uncertainty - a definite leave in this longer format. @DJC3 it says your birthday is April 2nd so I reckon happy birthday is in order.

Thanks Ian; a birthday I wasn’t expecting to see, so even happier for that!
Glad your fbg has come down a bit.

You might have told the students in class that the special BP test pack was part of your astronaut selection process.

Thanks Ziggy, what a lovely thing to say!
Glad your fbg levels are getting back to normal. Hope the docs appt goes well.

Morning All. A disappointing 6.5 this morning. Went out to lunch yesterday two courses and chose best I could. Had a two hour drive home and my BG was 5.3 so had rollitos later and 4 squares 90% choc. Was in bed at 9pm. Enough about me.
@DJC3 happy birthday have a great day with your family.
@Traceymac23 sorry to hear you are still in hospital. Good FBG you must have someone bring healthy food in! Get well soon.
Have a great Tuesday everyone. Stay well, safe and wrap up warm.

Thanks PM I’m picking up the grandchildren from school later as a ( hopefully nice) surprise. Haven’t seen them for 3 months so I’m looking forward to that a lot. Family is definitely the best gift.

Good luck with your INR test, hope it turns out fine -- in spite off the flu/cold and all the medications.
Thanks Ziggy...it wasn't perfect however it was much better than I thought it would be...just back from the clinic & staying indoors...freezing cold...so more hot coffee & toast.

5.9. Not sure why. Had a very stressful few days to be honest. But c'est la vie.

Diabetes prevention week and my surgery have invited me in to speak to other patients. They have been amazing. Willing to embrace this woe that will help control bs, to offer guidance for prediabetics, help with weight loss. I have my own room!!! Got all my leaflets spread out on the patient bed. Tins and jars. Proper market stall. I hope I get some customers!!! Now where is that buzzer ' NEXT!!

@DJC3 many happy returns you lovely lovely lady. What an absolute diamond you are. ALWAYS having time for others. So friendly. So caring. Great at giving advice. Hope your day is as special as you are xxx

Very tempted by Goa mate, but I promised our big granddaughter an American road trip, so tickets to San Fran booking tonight, and then we have to get digs and car sorted.
That sounds great. If you get the chance, drive up the Pacific Coast Highway - at least as far as San Francisco - you could call in the Carmel and see if Clint Eastwood is in. Also, for those of a certain age, there is Big Sur.

Good morning folks. My watch (and my body) inform me that its 1051 but New York has decided that it’s only 0551.
After a, lets call it ‘pleasant’, flight, dotted with interesting examples of “food” we got to our apartment next to Carnegie Hall and dashed over to the Warner Building where there is a whole food supermarket in the basement and stocked up on essentials (sans vino as we can get some of that today).
Anyhow. Readings all over the place but the one that I will share with you was a flat 6 at 0430 (local time).
Have a great day if you can, we are taking it easy today once Mrs Miggins’ body has, like Dracula in a 1960’s classic, risen from it’s great slumber and intend to have a bash round some of Central Park which is just round the corner. Cobwebs away!

Lol, yes, meter calibrated and all fine. At the doc now after already being yelled at once for testing as I shouldn’t be. Waiting for my next yelling :(
