What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

I need to take my own advice on this! Or ditch some of the chocolate stock altogether.
I nearly bought some pk10 but I'm not eating chocolate sauce any more either. I'm trying to keep medium fat. Fat can bother new system but sugar definitely does so 90% chocolate is off my menu and has been for months.
I will bake some cakes and scones with almond flour once kids are back to school.
I might try trifle with sugar-free jelly by using almond flour sponges. Cream but custard may be difficult. Maybe sugar-free custard thinly as a layer?
Anyone made a decent trifle?

Morning all. Please can anyone help me find any sausages that match or better Waitrose 1 in terms of carb value of 1.2 for 2 sausages. Nothing wrong with them at all, in fact I like them greatly. The trouble is I also like Waitrose greatly probably more than my wallet should have to cope with. If the recommendations involve Tesco thanks but no thanks.
Oh, and disciplinary went well so CCBs being made to my new specs - chocky has added cream and liquid sucralose plus triple zero stevia in the flaxsee/inulin mix and much more inulin and triple zero stevia in the caramel. Mrs P is ecstatic re the latest caramel - no ethryth just stevia, inulin and butter and lots of stirring. Basically double the inulin, and then some, and no eryth then just stir for all you are worth.
Sometimes one just has to put one's foot down with a firm hand:angelic:

Trifle is one of two iconic P family celebration dishes - the other is rice crispy cake in the shape of a cat - which is definitely off my list. Mrs P is tasked with creating a worthy successor to her famous cricket tea monster trifles. Opposing teams would rave about those. The lemon drizzle cake will make a base and jelly is no problem. Homemade custard should be no problem. Mine will have plenty of cream. Just waiting for Mrs P to sort herself out - I think I make too many excuses for her but I have always been soft that way.

MrsP's probably getting around to it............

Hope everyone has had a good day I’ve loved the weather - sunny but with a chilly edge got out in garden to do some sorting as well as other tasks. My purple tomatoes are nearly ripe can’t wait and raspberries are doing great freezing a fair few every day at the moment should keep the clafoutis habit going !
Breakfast one slice of bacon and egg
Lunch tin of mackerel in olive oil plus celery and olive oil hummus and four lc seeded crispbreads followed by one Small CCB
Dinner beef short rib casserole done in slow cooker served with buttered cabbage and a small glass of red wine followed by raspberry clafoutis with yoghurt.
Tomorrow away to Birmingham and a few of us on this thread will be eating evening meal at Jamie’s - will be interesting to see if we all eat the same!

I’m no help I often use Waitrose just for the Waitrose 1 sausages! How about buying more and freezing them in small portions as I do so you don’t get exposed to Waitrose temptations too often! I haven’t found any I prefer at any other supermarkets and have tried a fair few!

One of the most sublime events of my life toady - doubt if much else will ever match or beat it. Sun on my back, standing looking out from my garden over 500 acres of fields spanning 3 villages I just saw an apple that I was somehow drawn to eat. It was the most amazing tasting apple I have ever had - the combination of time, place and totally unexpected pleasure was overwhelming.
Breakfast: 2 X 1.5 pints tea with almond milk
Mid morning snack: Filter coffee with double cream - 3 X slice of Ox tongue; the most amazing apple picked on my hourly wander round garden - there are just so many more than ever before
Lunch: 2 lo dough tuna mayo wraps with lettuce and cucumber (used up the lo dough - lesson learned)
Afternoon snack: Tea
Evening meal : Homemade burger, topped with halloumi; salad; pea shoots and edible flowers; Water
@shelley262 thanks for the sausage advise we are trying to clear space in both freezers but Mrs P keeps finding bargain joints:banghead:

Sainsburys have quite a few , particularly the ones that are Gluten Free and the ones GF and in the Taste the Difference range are particularly good. For example, the Sicilian pork sausages have only 1g carbs per 2 sausages. M&S 97% pork is another nice one.
Another place that have good low carb sausages is Costco. Big packets but I bag and freeze them. Again the GF are the lowest and very tasty.
(Tesco have a few too but you did say don't mention).
Black Farmers Daughter are good too. A few supermarkets stock them.

Got to agree , trifle should be very doable. Issue for me is the jam. Totally agree with ianp - custard and plenty cream - not a problem. Low carb sponge - not a problem. I was brought up on my Mums trifles where the jam spread sponge was soaked in sweet sherry and the alcohol sodden trifle was even better second day! Never been a jelly person in trifle. The amount of sherry I put in trifle could be an issue though.

I made this at Xmas, worked out at about 10g carbs each portion :hungry:

Wotcha!

Today was an eating day :D

Bacon and egg
Then homemade chicken thigh curry
Followed by a mug of Awful Soup (aka Offal Soup, aka Steak and Kidney Pie Soup). Very nice, and not Awful at all. Made lots of curry and soup for freezing. Need a bigger freezer.
https://goodfood.uktv.co.uk/recipe/offal-soup/

Also 4 squares of Godiva 70% dark choc with orange bits. Delish. 2 after lunch, and 2 after supper.

Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries and cream washed down with a black coffee.
Lunch: 2 x boiled eggs with Marmite soldiers made from one slice of HiLo bread followed by Greek yoghurt and raspberries.
Mid afternoon: Carb Killa Jaffa bar and black coffee.
Dinner: cheese omelette with cauliflower and broccoli salad followed by raspberry chia pudding with strawberries and LCchocolate granola.

Thanks for all the good health vibes and I return the vibes to anyone infected by the lurgy. You've probably guessed I'm improving. Hubby ventured out with me this morning to pick up some bits and bobs but I felt quite wobbly when I got back. Had to have a nap before collecting the boys from after school. I've been having a few early nights but the sweats has really been taking it out of me. Still, BGs are stabilising so I must be getting better.
Bed last night 5.2 FBG 6 but thankfully it stopped and turned at 7.5.
B. Tassimo Americano grande with a dash of cream.
L. Bits and bobs from M&S - 4 mozzarella pearls, 4 bits smoky paprika calimari, 1/2 a prawn cocktail, tablespoon tuna mayonnaise, tablespoon mussels and icy water.
D. 3 of yesterday's air fried chicken drumsticks.
Scoop Halo Top and raspberries.
Breyers choc ice.
Icy water.
Theme here - lots of cold stuff. Time for a hot steamy shower again.
Have a nice time in Brum. Enjoy.

Glad you are perking up a bit @maglil55

Had a cooking and baking day today

B: smoked salmon scrambled eggs and avocado with coffee and cream.
L: hot smoked salmon fillet with salad of leaves, avocado, olives, walnuts flaxseeds radishes and avc/olive oil dressing. Followed by one of the jaffa cakes I finally got round to making. They are fiddly but I really like them, so did daughter who is also doing lchf, Mr C and youngest daughter found the chocolate too dark.
Made some more CCBs with the leftover melted chocolate. Caramel was just boiling butter with cream added, then a teasp of erythritol. Much more to my taste without the big erythritol hit. A great invention Mr and Mrs @ianpspurs
D: IP chilli with cauli rice and one of the new CCBs. Plus 2 glasses red.

Put all the old veg from the fridge plus a few bones from the freezer into the IP to make soup fot Mr C to see him over the weekend while I’m in Brum. He will probably live on pasties from the butchers but at least I tried.

Looking forward to seeing some of you tomorrow and drinking the health of everyone else

Re sausages @ianpspurs The only supermarket ones I get are Naked ( which I buy as well as Naked bacon because they’re made without nitrates) I find these v good. Often on special offer in Sainsbury’s They must be less than 1g carb each as they’ve come up on my Carbs n Cals app as 0g per sausage.View attachment 28316
