Gee , I'm just recovering from GBBO and now I have to gather soft things together to throw at the TV during the Apprentice.
Not sure how I feel about Rahul winning. He was always so miserable. I was a Kim Joy fan but she blew it with her showstopper.
I feel the same I liked Kim-Joy, I know she was a little bit quirky but she was always happy and fun, Rahul was a bit too nervy and stressed for my liking.

Hi all, strange day not being able to test, I was convinced that my strips would be here when I got home but no, so another test free day on the cards tomorrow!
Coffee with cream and I took some sliced chicken and a portion of mature cheddar to work for breakfast
Lunch was pumpkin soup, homemade, with added coconut cream, very nice and filling, some salami crisps followed by a portion of my homemade carrot cake
Yoga class after work so had half a PhD smart bar and a coffee on our way to class
Dinner was ham, asparagus roasted with pancetta and fried egg, delicious
Enjoying a glass of wine now

Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries and cream washed down with a black coffee.
Day at my Mum and Dad’s who try their very best to accommodate my low carbing.
Lunch: hard boiled egg and cheese salad (mini plum tomatoes, sugar snap peas and celery) followed by dessert which I took with me, Greek yoghurt, raspberries and LC chocolate granola.
Mid afternoon (oh no I had to swerve the biscuit tin!) Banana Carb Killa bar and black coffee.
Dinner: chicken casserole cooked by my Dad, fished out the broad beans from my portion, served with brocolli and new potatoes (I picked the smallest one!) followed by raspberries and cream.
I survived well, average blood sugar so far today 5.48 :)

Well survived. It’s hard when you don’t want to offend - especially when they’ve tried so hard.

(Yesterday)

Breakfast - nothing, just not hungry and really tied up with phone calls to various services as my elderly mum is unwell

Lunch - homemade spicy soup (sweet potato, squash and onion with a lot of chilli) and toasted lo dough

Dinner - pan fried steak and veg

And more weight loss - I'm now 11lb down, without actually trying! My husband and daughter think I'm being really strict but I've not been hungry at all, it's just a case of finding substitute things to eat instead of the carbs I would normally have had. I feel like I'm eating as much as ever!

Still running a day behind so Wednesday's food - bed 6.4 FBG 6.2 and DP still holding in the 7's - worst was 7.3 yesterday.
B. Still on it @DJC3 - DD breakfast sandwich. Tassimo Americano grande with a dash of cream.
L. Nothing.
D. Last 3 pieces of the crispy sesame chicken. Avocado and prawns.
Finished off the remains of the Breyer's berry choc chip with 4 blackberries.

Now Jackie can sell there is no doubt about that but am I the only one who thinks she is a nasty devious piece of work. I accept there are more than a few on the Apprentice but the woman in particular seem worse than usual this year.

She is that, no doubt about it. This year though the men are annoying me much more than the women. Last week there was the chap who always had his mouth open looking gormless, then last night the miserable so and so. The Bollywood actor is just a waste of space posing all over the place. They are all so addictively awful!

Brilliant @Kingmidas! Well done, that’s really encouraging. When’s your next HbA1c test?

I still haven't booked it! Having real problems with my mum at the mo and she's just being admitted to hospital, so it's proving tricky to pin anything down but I'll try and get it soon. I really want it done way before Christmas so I can plan my eating!

Well done indeed! As my physio said to me make time for yourself although I do know how difficult it is when you are dealing with family illness at the same time. I'm sure you'll get a pleasant surprise when it's finally done and I hope your Mum recovers soon. x

I suspect they're "saving" Jackie for interview week. Her mauling would be pleasurable! I thought our Bollywood friend was a goner yesterday though.

Ooh yes - that’s my favourite week too. Makes me squirm that they all come so ill prepared.

Evening all.

Congratulations @Kingmidas on your weight loss so far but sorry to hear about your mum.

No more apprentice spoilers @DJC3 and @maglil55 I have at least 4 episodes to catch up on!

Today’s menu includes a spectacular failure at dinner.

Lunch was smoked salmon and M&S whipped creamy cheese.

Dinner was a first attempt at a recipe posted on a carnivore Facebook group I’m a member of. Chicken wings coated in butter and a mix of paprika, salt and pepper. Who would have thought something so simple could go,spectacularly wrong. Way too much salt, way too much pepper. Ate a couple before binning the lot. Mouth is still in recovery. Have to head to Pilates shortly so no time to prepare anything else so have eaten a pack of salami and smoked cheese, but didn’t enjoy that either. Vile taste in mouth!

She's got lifelong mental health issues and has had a series of infections which has resulted in a sharp decline - she's being admitted to hospital either today or tomorrow so she can be properly assessed

My favourite bit, I think it was from last year, was when one of them walked into the interview room and said 'Hi Claude!' in an over familiar manner. The withering look they received was awesome.

My sympathies. I hate it when you look forward to a new creation and it's just not how you think it will be. The number of epic fails from low carb recipes I've tried (not from this thread I hasten to add).

Mum or MIL issues time it seems, Julie, @shelley262 and @Kingmidas. Julie's mum has got though knee replacement - she had epidural due to AF and phoned to say she is in a private ward while the swabs for MRSA are analysed. My plan was to distract Julie by going out to Cambridge for the day, collecting my things from Decathlon and Orange Pekoe tea from my uncle. Plan turned into something akin to a distraction burglary the highlight being the purchase of an oak dining table for 10 and 8 leather chairs (I.m keeping the 2 carvers). Along the way huge quantities of clothes for the girls, a 15 tog duvet and a gorgeous leather coat for me. Some plan that was:arghh:
Breakfast: - Tea - standard issue 3 pints
Dockey : Filter coffee and cream
Lunch : Patisserie Valerie breakfast minus bread and beans plus salmon - cumberland sausage bit sus, poached eggs quite good; almond milk flat white; tea with almond milk
Mid Afternoon: Costa Americano with soya milk and s/f caramel syrup for the car on way home
Evening meal: 5 M and S chorizo and diabolo cheddar rolitos (10 in a pack may be more later); water
Worst part is we went nowhere near John Lewis or the more upmarket shops so part 2 may be a nightmare:arghh::arghh:

Hi all funny day today good news and bad news
Bad news from mums apps diagnosis of glaucoma with possible blindness in about 15 years but - as mum joked to consultant- did he realise she’d be 103 then! Also two cataract ops on agenda one of which may be to quote same consultant be a “Christmas pressie” lots more caring lies ahead i think!
On the good news front we had mums hbaca1 results at her diabetic assessment at drs this afternoon and her hbaca1 had gone down to 35 from 55 - I’m thrilled for her. She said that she should share it with others that her hbaca1 could go down to normal and also that her kidneys haven’t deteriorated any more because she has being low carbing - moderately- she’s also lost a stone over last year all from her middle @Debandez sure you’d be interested that she wants to shout it from the rooftops that it’s never too late to discover low carbing - she’ll happily be on the tv am sofa with you!
Back to topic
Breakfast bacon, egg and mushrooms
Lunch rest of rollitos and bit of Stilton withwalnuts
Dinner beef stew, turnip mash, buttered cabbage and last of lc trifle
On to Lincs mid morning tomorrow and our air B and B I’m cooking for everyone at our self catering place.

Bit of a curate's egg day for you and your mum - thought about a hug but gave a winner for the good news re hbaca1.
On a very serious point, anyone of you good people able to link me to vegan low carb recipes that have carbs worked out for me please. Not a full on diet change but seems to be an idea whose time has come.
@shelley262 and @jayney27 , I just googled hbaca1 and got thumbnail images of you 2
