Absolutely true, people really do view houses just for something to do. A few house moves ago I had a well to do old woman and her buddy show up one Sunday morning - they walked around the house and gardens commenting (mostly unfavourably) on everything, including stuff that wouldn't be included in a sale, then left - and the estate agent didn't ring me with any feedback. So I rang them and was told that it was the old dear's favourite Sunday hobby. I was furious.

That’s appalling ! The estate agent should never have booked the viewing. The other thing I’ve wondered is that if interest is low and they haven’t got many bookings in, they’ll just send friends or relations round pretending to be buyers, but actually just so you think the estate agt is doing a good job.

Around here they insist you go out which though incovenient yesterday with three back to back is still better. The one I was actually here for though hidden in the study I could hear some of the negativity. The agent leaves a feedback card in the kitchen fir each viewing. We have had 21 viewings now in the 3 months but not even one cheeky offer!
They do open days on Saturdays if they think its useful.

I think I'd prefer to go out but back in the days when I was last selling the estate agents just used to send the would-be buyers round for the seller to do the showing round.

There actually didn't seem to be any kind of filter of buyers (whether timewasters or financial) and I had 2-3 view whose feedback was that they would love to buy it but couldn't afford it. JMHO but the estate agent should have established that in advance and they should never have stepped through my front door.

Anyway, on to today's menu

Breakfast: the usual bacon and eggs (getting severely bored with this now but it does reliably stop my DP from rising any further)

Lunch: probably not but if necessary it will be celery with home made chicken liver pate

Dinner: home made creamy mushroom soup (to use up some of the huge quantity of h/m chicken stock in the freezer)

Drinks: one mug black decaff coffee, lots of water

Hi Rachox, just a random question, but are you in Africa?
Wherever, have a lovely holiday.
No! I’m at Center Parcs! What made you think I’m in Africa?

Because you mentioned ‘the lodge’ and ‘pool’ together. . I haven’t actually heard a lodge referred to in the UK. Perhaps I’ve been away too long.
Have a lovely holiday.
Right now enjoying a coffee with cream at M&S. V good.

@maglil55 did you get your car sorted ok?

Last night of hol :( already thoughts are turning to the journey home and practicalities of filling fridge and getting ready for work on Monday. Hate it when that happens. It feels like you lose some holiday before it actually ends.

B: sausages
L: the most fab hogroast https://www.oinkhogroast.co.uk/ near Holyrood House on the Royal Mile. Dog friendly! We had minor dramas from one of the group, due to a lack of available gravy - no, am not exaggerating - but it was my first truly carnivore meal in a week, and boy did my body appreciate it. They have several different options, buns, stuffing, etc. including just pork in a carboard box, apparently 250g. No way. My portion was MUCH larger. Beautifully tender, moist, succulent. The dogs had eyes like saucers. Not helped by the Gravy Addict committing the heinous crime of giving hog fragments under the table. And Hound1 actually snatched, when offered his portion (on the street outside, after we left). I didn’t think he knew how to snatch, bless him. Hound2 didn’t do that. She was reverent. I think she was in ecstatic shock.
D: won’t be needed!

My son wants to do some work on the utility room (aka back porch) so I have to empty the freezer. This morning I fried a couple of slices of my chicken sausage and had 2 fried eggs with that. (Tea, of course, both before breakfast and after, so that I could take some of my obligatory pills).

Lunch was just a handful of peanuts - about 25-30 grams, so about 3 grams carbohydrate and some more tea.

All together I have to drink about 8 mugs of fluids to keep the hydration up (and the blood pressure).

Dinner will be some defrosted pork and vegetable stew. Might fry the last of the aubergine with that to provide some sort of a base.

The next few days will probably be very meat heavy - to use up all those portions of stew. Surprised to find I have already used all my packs of vegetable stews. Just have to make them fresh meantime.

Eaten today.

Cwc and dark chocolate

Two slices roast beef and a sliver of cheese in them (rolled the beef round the cheese)

I was in a rush and had to be out all day.

So a packet pork scratchings and two babybels when I stopped for a coffee.

(I don't like to eat out now unless it's a couple of places I know I can get what I need to eat)

(Taught art all afternoon, a lot of effort goes into that, but there was only cream cakes there, so nothing for me)
But I did have a coffee with milk there.

I intended having a fish afterwards (with the batter taken off) but as I waited in the queue someone bought all the fish in batter and it was a 15 minute wait for more to be made. But I needed something now, I was getting very grumpy. So I went next door into Morrison's, but it was end of day so very little in the hot meats department. I wanted something hot. Then as I was about to leave, the butcher put a whole load of hot chickens out that were £2 off. I bought one, went back to the car and tore pieces off. It was absolutely delicious.

Back home now. Drinking a flask tea with a little cream in.

I don't think I drink enough fluids when I am out all day (I can't, I need the loo too often), so trying to make up my liquids tonight.
More tea
3 small bottles water, one with a pinch salt in, one with lemon juice in, one with a bit of tonic water in. And these will be drunk before bedtime or in the night.

My food today instead of being eaten on a 6 hour window, ended up being in a 9 hour window. That doesn't suit me and I expect my fbg to be higher in the morning.

We'll see...

This morning way way too much coffee, some with cream some black, indoors and at a cafe on the high st. We took Dennis out to start socialising and accosted people as they passed to say hello to him. We were specifically targeting people with beards, hats, glasses, uniforms and trolleys. Everyone had fun and the people we asked were all chuffed to bits.
L: scrambled eggs & smoked salmon.
D: Baked salmon with Parmesan/ sesame crumb served with horseradish mayo, green beans and broccoli. 15 g Montezuma’s black afterwards with DCWC
@Brunneria it makes my blood boil when people give titbits to dogs without asking the owner. I was in a pub once and someone threw a chip to Tilly. I went off on a rant and Mr C had to hustle me out to keep the peace.
@Chook I agree with the egg&bacon breakfast choice becoming boring. Who’d have thought it? In fact ( and I’m whispering this ) I’m bored with bacon full stop.

Did have a tea with cream in Costa this afternoon. Hopefully enough cals and carbs to sleep longer tonight/tomorrow.

Joggers - get him used to joggers while he's still young! About 20 years ago I had a Labrador who thought he was my knight in shining armour and I was a damsel in distress to be protected from all the nasties in the world, especially joggers. I think his thinking on it was that joggers were running towards me to attack me and he would literally snarl at them, slather and lunge at them. This has been passed on down from dog to dog and nowadays I have one now who doesn't much like joggers and one that really hates them.

Hi all collecting Cooper -youngest sons dog - for a sleepover weekend with us. We are really looking forward to it. I’ve been resting my knee and getting computer work out of way at same time in hope that I’ll be able to do long walks! He’s a young lively dog who needs long walks.
My first libre sensor and reader arrived today so have put itinto my arm to settle before activating tomorrow- I was so scared when saw needle so was pleasantly surprised both with how easy it was and how pain free for me - felt less than normal finger pin pricks. Looking forward to seeing how it works.
Breakfast bacon and egg
Lunch coffee with cream
Dinner trout in lemon butter with asparagus and mushrooms followed by hm rhubarb fool then decaf coffee and cream and small amount of 100% choc.

Yes, good one! Joggers are on my list, I’m going to have to get someone to dress in a tracksuit and jog past and pretend, or get out and about early to catch the real ones. Our last dog hated cyclists so that’s another ‘experience’ we have in store for him.
