What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

My best friend’s little Westie passed away yesterday approaching his 18th birthday so a grand old age. He saw her through all her cancer treatment in the last two years. He was a right character, very clever, and as she lives alone he was her child. He came on beach holidays with us to Cornwall and Ireland and we have loads of great memories of funny moments with him like when Mr PM walked him too far and he developed a limp so OH carried him all the way home to let him down as he scampered in not a sign of a limp!

do you ever wish for a weekend that lasts longer than 2 days?
I have never had a weekend longer than 2 days, however when I was working, retired now, I used to have my weekend after Wednesday and before Thursday which meant I had two days off in the middle of the week so not so long to wait before they came around again.

How very sad to lose him PM but he did his work so well & saw his mistress through very difficult times...what a little star he was...it's tough to think about having another 'pet' or as I like to think of them another family member immediately after such a loss...however in time I hope she will consider another dog there are so many that need good loving homes...hopefully in time she will have one & honour her little 'mans' legacy/memory.

5.5 this morning. Lovely to be back home. When I arrived at Downham Market Station yesterday husband and doggies were waiting on the platform - we stopped for dinner on the way home, so a lovely homecoming.

Blood sugars were interesting - struggling to get above 4 for most of the day, even though my step count was really low - around 5K each day instead of my usual 15K. Carbs were very slightly lower than usual.

many thanks for the kind thoughts & prayers.

Sadly found unconscious Saturday, dash to A&E
docs sedated at ICU.. then took off sedation yesterday, aiming to rouse and bring around.

end of day docs had concerns and the fact he hadn't awoken naturally,
means they began sedating him again (a more 'restful' sleep perhaps ?)
as he hasn't regained consciousness.

So it's not the good news we hoped for, but please god it's not real bad news either.

Nothing to do, but wait and Just hang tough for each other.

Hugs given out, ....but not for you guys.

These Hugs freely given, are to be passed around, ok

Please take the time to make sure you don't miss anyone out,
if unsure, use one anyway, take the awkwardness on the Chin

you never know how much it could mean, to someone who might just, really need it.

Thank you all for the Love.

FBG 5.8, happy with that.

@Krystyna23040 love the homecoming ,

and i do have a sneaky suspicion that our bodies don't play fair.

Sometimes they're lazy, cheat and prep for what they expect us to do, so respond accordingly
with a decent BG then kick back and chill

And then it goes all tantrummie perhaps IF it wasn't so deserved., at being conned by us..:arghh::***:

and then when we correct that, and do the good stuff correctly..

it spits out a nasty little piece of a BG level...to remind us that this IS a Partnership,
and next time we BETTER be discussing any deviations and putting it to the Vote, Buster

:bag:;)

It is, as Greavsie used to say..a Funny Old Game.

This morning my fbg was 4.9 . Decided to have a coffee a little while ago put coffee into cafeteria added boiling water pressed the plunger had my free hand resting on the cafeteria and got a handful of boiling coffee as when pressed the plunger it forced a stream of coffee out of the spout. palm of left hand now somewhat painful.

Must pay more attention to what I am doing in future.
A hug for your hand and a winner star for your Bg reading

Good Morning and 5.7 today, not sure what I think about that, a bit high for the start of the day, @Debandez your information from the Libra experience probably explains yesterday's reading appearing low after food intake, all what's going on hidden away in between readings from my Dracula, thank you.

A wet day so no muddy cycle ride for me but a day of preparing for the arrival of Tuesday and the fitted wardrobes.

Listening to the rain it's going to be easy for those out and about to dodge the rain drops, they are huge.

Don't let your day disappoint make it something wonderful.

I agree it is 'a Funny Old Game'. It's a bit like trying to work out how something works without the instruction manual - or the instruction manual is written in a foreign language.

Although maybe having the instruction manual wouldn't be any better as I have found with my car, and @True Blue found with his marine cooker and @dunelm found with his microwave.

Hopefully he will improve and regain consciousness soon. The waiting is so hard and so stressful.

good afternoon all :)

4.5 today

it's a lovely sunny day today so we've been out for a good ramble around the village ;) now I'm going to be off upstairs to work on the small bedroom where lots of 'stuff' gets 'parked' :hilarious:

Must find some Christmas decorations suitable to be put up at high level before mum's latest lot of visitors arrives on Thursday evening. High level and out of dog reach decorations :D

Hope your day is treating you well :)

Hello again everyone. I'm pleased to report a nice low 6.6 this morning. It's funny -- when I get an unexpectedly high number I try again, hoping for a lower number; when I get an unexpectedly low number I take it with pleasure and gratitude and don't check again.

@PenguinMum I am sorry to hear you have a cold. I hope it won't get any worse, but will soon go away completely!

@jjraak I am glad to hear the good news about your relative; sorry to hear he is not fully recovered, but I hear sleep can be a time of healing, so I am continuing the prayers, thoughts, and good hopes for him and for you all.

@ianpspurs an interesting phenonemon very early this morning -- I had been reading a novel on my Nook, and then put it down when I thought I was ready to go to sleep. Some time later, not being sleepy, I sat up and took up my Nook again, to have it open to Psalm 19. I have a Bible downloaded on it but seldom access it, preferring to just reach for my bedside Bible or look up your referenced verses online.
I thought I had better read the psalm presented to me, so I did, including the last verse of 18 at the top of the page, and got so into it that I read on through Psalm 20 and thoroughly enjoyed them all. Psalm 20 speaks a lot to my current "moving" mindset, and of course it is always good for me to be reminded to trust in the Lord rather than in horses. ;)

I am watching "Bullitt" because it is on and is supposed to have a famous car chase and a famous Mustang; so far I have seen only one Ford, which was certainly not a Mustang, and more conversations than car chases.

I am not ready for Christmas decorations yet though the second weekend of Advent when we usually do them is not that far away. Understand your need for puppy proof ones though. The first Christmas we had kittens they took celight in racing up and down the centre of the tree, jangling baubles. I had to remove the lights for safety! Talking of which pretty lights around mirrors or picture frames always look good.

@SaskiaKC we all do that with our blood tests! Thank you it is better today so staying in the warm and light duties seem to be working. Got the Royal icing on the cakes today so thats a job to tick off.

7.0 fbs, which I dont think ive had before. Not since dx. Although I could be wrong. Memory of a geriatric goldfish
Bs went up to 9.1. Can't blame food, only had Greek yoghurt at 8am. It was stress. Didnt even feel nervous! Blackpool tower ballroom event today. Lots of stalls there but could have done with more people. Dribs and drabs up to about 1ish when there was a flurry til 3pm. And just when I was trying to pack away I had a queue!!!

But all good. Positive feedback from people. My details taken for doing more talks in the community. In schools which will be interesting as they learn the eatwell plate! I will be like 'errrrr bin that, here's one I made earlier!'

Lots of t2d stopping to talk. Not regularly testing most sadly. And those that do, well it's not often enough. Meds increasing and they wonder why. Following the guidelines. Lots of fruit, porridge, cereal, brown bread. You know the story. They could not believe the sugar in the items on my table. And I told of the benefits of fat.

Anyway I will be tweeting the life out of all my pics. Great platform Twitter.

Will catch up tomorrow.

Hope all good with everyone.

Anyone shed any light on this? Why? Mystery. @Rachox @Goonergal @shelley262 is there an expert libre user that might help me understand? Thank you.

Hi Debandez just a quick response but can empathise with this it’s happened to me during and after stress. I can go up high and quickly as adrenaline kicks in but then if eat little as you did and stress stops and relax and especially if mid afternoon before dinner/tea it can drop really low I have gone down to low 3s at times mid pm once stress ended and not much food.
Other issue sometimes it can be odd at beginning or end of the sensors life - if you suspect it may not be right you could check with a finger prick and see if it’s similar.
Sounds like you did a wonderful job at the Tower well done you. I’d expect it to balance again tomorrow as you have a more normal day and with your usual eating patterns. X
