What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

Thank you. Not sure about the planning, Autumn paintings have all started with a yellow wash then put some paint on, spray, dab, repeat and see how it flows. This one was a little more ordered as I had to consider those Silver Birch against a dark sky thus painting negative or inside out as Mrs MC calls it.
More planning goes into your paintings than mine @Muddy Cyclist
Inside out sounds a good name :)

Been awake since 2.50 am and the sleep before that was patchy.

Fbg 6.7

Making another coffee and still trying to clear my painting desk. Why is it taking so long? Because I had a complete system of acrylics and brushes and paper set up there from the early months of this year. And I have to find a temporary home for that lot. Not easy in a tiny bungalow...

Woke up with leg cramps but it's gone now.

4.4 for this early riser and 1.5 on ketones. Doing well and because of that, I shall continue the fasting for day four. Asda is rocking up this morning but luckily there is nothing that requires using except the double cream which I can happily partake in. The rest is freezer or cupboard ready for the next panic by the masses ;)

Enjoy the day!

good evening all :)

4.9 this morning

today started off nice but cold and has ended up very, very windy but warmer :hilarious:
I hope any 'weans' wearing a cloak as part of their guising costumes this evening are well tethered :D

Hope your day is treating you kindly :)

@Muddy Cyclist - love the pumpkin, a splendid offering and very seasonal :joyful:

@dunelm - hugs for your ankle, hope it improves quickly :)
two great pictures today, the landscape is very good as usual but I love your leaves, so fluid and freely painted and such harmonious colour :)

@lindisfel - glad your daughter is progressing so strongly :)

@SilverK - welcome to the thread and thank you for bringing along a selection of your fine paintings, I look forward to more :joyful:

@gennepher - that's lots of fun, a lovely range of colours in the sky and clever use of silhouettes :joyful:

art bit -
just a quick ink and wash drawing for today :)

Thank you @geefull - loving your Halloween still life

Good morning everyone from a blustery start in the dark and dangerous north

The wonder wheel of bangers and cheesy cauliflower mash came in at 5.7 this am - is it the naproxen?

Not a lot done yesterday apart from hobbling about the house.
I did though have a look at the Gongbi style of painting using plum blossom as the subject. Gongbi style uses a painted template and then filled with colour in layers using two brushes; paint is added in tiny dots with the paint brush and then spread with a water brush. Once dried, another layer is added and so on. Anyhow - quite interesting. Hope you all have a good Sunday. Already had koffy at 0530.

Yet another style, a man of discovery and exploration. Worked very well and excellently drawn Plum Blossom. I hope your hobbling is less today.

Good Morning and 5.7 for me today.

We have to try and figure out how the new lockdown is going to effect MILs bungalow clearance Hippo Bags were planned for next weekend and a task force of Mrs MC and I plus SIL to fill them with unwanted rubbish and a trip to charity shops with items, a car full. This is outside our area and I have no idea if we can, should or whatever.:banghead:

No idea what the day is bringing.

Do the best you can with your time. Keep safe.

Good morning everyone and welcome to All Saint's Day. @dunelm interesting point about how Naproxen affects bg. I have never really noticed much impact there but both it and the reasons for taking it certainly delay transit however defined. @Krystyna23040 good news about zoom being well received. @karen8967 good fbg and I hope you also enjoy the remainder of your weekend. @Muddy Cyclist hug for the dilemma over clearing MILs house but I'm pretty sure the Cummings gambit of casuistry covers a multitude of sins now. @mojo37 the hug was for early waking when you could have had a lie in. @lindisfel you seem well provisioned. We will be eating some of the pork from the half pig obtained at last lockdown. It came from here https://www.lahogue.co.uk/farm-shop/ (Much closer to Newmarket so why it says Ely is a mystery. I would live in that village. It is in Cambs and has a picturesque cricket ground and church). Mildenhall is/was a market town which now has one butcher and a butcher's stall on the local market every Friday. The pattern as far as I can see from Peterborough one way, through to Kings Lynn and Bury St Edmunds is for such farm shops to be the main source of good quality meat. Butchers have mainly disappeared. Time to pray for/think about all those whose lives will be ended, upended, blighted, stunted or otherwise made unbearable with lockdown 2. God/good luck/kismet be with you all.

An interesting technique @dunelm
I like it very much...

@Alien Aspie great results from your fasting and I humbly apologise for missing The Threadfather from my roundup (other weed killers are available) Do you intend to do more such fasts? Some members swear by them but personally and from chats with a few I have never re-established a proper relationship with food since a series of them from April to June 2018. Took me below 73 kgs, raised my overall cholesterol to 4.8 and only delivered a 5.5 A1c. Did give plenty of readings of 3.9 bg and 3.9 ketones though. Let's hope you are in Tier 1 and I'm an outlier in Tier 5

Have to be quick, this restful Sunday, a full day of plans and planning to execute, or it could lead to me and me's execution.
A 6.4 this Morening.

Well fellow posters and painters have as good a day as you can. Must go.

I do smaller intermittent stuff like most of us but I do have to mentally be prepared for a long period of fasting. I know it helps me because I always feel good although, as I've said before, I've never lost much weight. I think I'm happy with the fact that whatever I'm doing my T2 is not worsening which means I can spend more time engaging the COPD and the effects the virus has had on it.

I know I should be concerned about readings et al but as long as I stay around 6.0 I don't care, more important things to panic over ;)

As for doing more, I think I shall as once I've crossed that two-day hurdle and gotten up to speed I really like it. If it doesn't suit you then I can understand not doing it, like most things in life it's each to their own.

5.8 this morning. I am surprised it isn't lots higher.

I think I must have been quite stressed last night over the lockdown as before I went to bed I had some of Mr K's dark chocolate which is quite high in carbs and a big bowl of strawberries and cream.

This morning feel a lot less stressed and am back on track.

5.6 this morning.

Seems Keiran finally gave in and agreed to organise a Halloween party for the students in his flat so within the rules, it involved lots of food pumpkins disco lights and music oh and a certain amount of AU vodka a good time was had by all. :)

Well I suppose he is young and a student. There will be plenty of time to be good later in life! :)

I went to college in central London. Freshers week was “there’s your pigeon hole, phone your teacher, don’t lose your tube pass, lectures start at 9am” lol.
