What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

My next tree, back to the Willow I'm afraid. Need lots of detail for my friend who obviously likes this style of watercolour. Pleanty more to do but will finish Saturday. A4 watercolour....

Just had a link to the virtual West Gallery Quire music we recorded some weeks back. Mrs MC soprano and Alto Recorder, me Bass and Bass Recorder jumbled up in there somewhere.

It's a tad long so would not blame anyone for not listening to it all, still it was interesting to do...


We are now working on another piece and also 'My Grandfathers Clock' for our more modern choir we sing with,keeps our voice in but not like singing or playing instruments with others.

A miserable day yesterday - rain, rain and even more rain just in case you missed out on any rain. Apart from that and some rain in the afternoon, not a lot. Oh! The window cleaner did come and do the windows and our new Ninja grill and air fryer turned up just in time to offer some alternative comedy come dinner time. Video link with Little Miss Pamplemouse practicing doubles and halves - very serious stuff and includes spots on ladybird wings amongst other visuals.

good evenng all :)

4.7 today

it's been a lovely day really, dry and breezy but just a bit cold ;) we did manage a walk when we got back from Mum's.

We were going over anyway today to top up the log supply inside the house but when we called Mum yesterday evening she said she was going into the nearest town by bus today to pick up her medication. Whilst we applaud her wish to be independant it isn't a going concern because there are so few buses at the moment. We went over early and took her out by car, there was rain overnight and the area she lives in has clay soil which is sodden already so she has an unplanned small lake in her garden , mind you most of her neighbours have too :( and most of the farmers' fields. The snowdrops are poking their heads above water.

still I feel very lucky indeed (as mentioned by @ianpspurs) to be where we are and to have the 'stay at home' conditions we have :)

@Muddy Cyclist - that's a stunning painting, the bark, moss and woodland floor are impressive. and an interesting start to the next willow painting, I look forward to seeing it progress.

You have my sympathy on the shed, Mum has a big rattly old shed and we've been trying to sort some of the 'rubbish' out of it for ages :hilarious:

@gennepher - Popeye the critic ? :D the post cards will have to wait for a little while I guess.
Very pleasing picture today, misty and evocative and the hints of foliage and colour are very well done :) I like it.

@dunelm - a very fine finish to the series, your group have so much character :joyful: with their head tilts and postures today they remind me of a group of well dressed 'ladies who lunch' discussing the one on the left's new fashion in stockings :D Lovely work

I believe the original inspiration for this was an etching by an artist called Kathleen Caddick who has a strong way with composition

Thank you for appreciation of my Trees and music.

I like the way the tress have been grouped and recede In to the distance with the winter colours used in your landscape today. I admire your willingness to explore other artists methods and apply your own style. A voyage of exploration and learning which is what developing our talents is all about.

I love the strong composition of the trees, and yet you still retain your gentle style of painting.

Good morning eveyone from a so far, so good start to the day in the dark and dangerous north
The wonder wheel of roasted veg finished off with a topping of bacon bits and Comte under the grill came in at 5.1 this am

Oh what a circus springs to mind with rants from the EU - lots of excessive synaptic pruning going on in some minds. Not really their best efforts but hope that they can sort it out without resorting to bullying.
Cousins get together going all virtual tonight - even some getting up early in NZ for a chin wag. Must dig out my Cork County tartan kilt.

@Muddy Cyclist - thank you for Jacob’s Well - enjoyed that. Willow coming along nicely.
@geefull - thank you for the ladies who lunch. Your trees are well composed - that feint line on the horizon - marvelous. I do like your colour choices.

Goldilocks, New Balance and Spandau Ballet morning here. 4.2 on Swipey - this much is true. New trainers arrived yesterday - obviously NB which prompted the Ianish mind to ask do I need a NB? I believe there are 4 pillars of being Ianish goodly and only 1.5 are fully functional just now, IMHO. So to Goldilocks. From my experience any game where you hit a ball has a sweet spot when one feels no effort but the outcome is perfect. There have been times when the 4 Pillars have aligned like that - mainly summer to early autumn for me. I don't really like oversharing (yesterday?) but the personal is the political as they say. Enjoy the clan gathering @dunelm; hug for wakefulness @jjraak. Oh, yesterday's salmon avo salad was amazing so thanks be to God and Julie and I pray the 1.5 functional pillars* stay strong. Lyrics if they help @gennepher
*Credit to Dr Chatterjee for the 4 pillars vibe and Malcolm Guite as a route to the fully functional pillar.

IMHO.
The mess with the pandemic in the uk is caused by politicians and not listening to the scientists.

The mess with the debacle in Europe with the vaccines is due to political control.

Lets not let the politicians take the credit for the success for vaccine role out in the UK its the scientists and the medics should get the plaudits.

Its unfortunate we do not have a better system for sorting out our human disaster prone nature than modern democracies.
