Came home after sailing, expecting my evening meal would be a cobbled together thing of leftovers from the day or a sandwich or such to find out my neighbour-in-the-garden and his teenage son had a campfire with a friend and her 14 year old daughter, and food, and I was invited too!

First I had some very garlicky olives :hungry:. There was also bread and garlic butter but I just dug in to the olives, and had a small bite of the bread for taste and had the dogs have the rest.
Then came a skewer of onion, peppers and salami.

Next was a fruit salad containing banana, melon and strawberries which made me rather envious. Until the daughter saved the day for both of us! She has, among other issues, a very serious eating disorder and mentioned she'd like strawberries but not the other fruits. And neighbour produced a bowl of very good plain strawberries for us to share!
The girl also asked me if grilled strawberries were good. I replied I had no idea, but why not try? :)
So we both had a hot grilled strawberry for an experiment, and I can recommend, it's like eating a solid strawberry sauce, will eat again!

Last thing was spareribs, marinated and very good, but obviously more carby than I guessed, as I've now risen to 8 and waiting for my insulin to do something.
Fine with me, definitely worth it!

That's a great idea to try with some of our local fruit, we already cook fresh pineapple and banana on the bbq so may give it go with mango's and paw paw.

Nice fire pit to sit around and have a beer in your post.

Morning all. Have a great weekend everyone. Hope the weather stays fine. Skipping bf, not hungry. Dinner is already in slow cooker... pork steaks with onions, 1 carrot and 1 mushroom and 1 stock cube. Will mash some celeriac to go with it. Teatime will eat up any leftovers. Snacks will be the inevitable 70% chocolate or some blueberries and cream.

It is!
And judging from my head today, it was more than one beer too, and more than just beer. :hungover::hilarious:
So I'm very happy I didn't eat the leftovers from the sailing day yesterday, as that means I can eat them today and I don't have to cook! :D

Yes, I'm very happy with my neighbour!
He used to be my neighbour on the other side of the road, where he lived in a chalet in the garden. But last summer the owners wanted him out, so we decided he could put a trailer in my garden to live in and we'd simply share the garden, very good decision. :)

So last night I ended up having strawberry bootlaces (sugar free but 7 carbs each) and a keto bread slice with quorn to counter my hypo at about 9pm. As a result my morning bm was 9.2 and is only now starting to go down. But lesson learned, am stopping evening gliclazide and speaking to dsn next week.

Today I had

Breakfast- black chai tea

Lunch- protein wrap with roasted tofu, sheeze garlic and herb spread, kimchi, spinach, cucumber and green pickled peppers

Dinner will be:

Lettuce roll ups filled with Vivera vegan kebab meat, vegan Gouda slice, primula vegan spread and a dash of Nando’s hot sauce

Total carbs-34, total cals 890

Hope everyone has a lovely day!

Ate something I shouldn't have yesterday. Not quite sure what it was. I did feel hungry so had a snack of a few of the Slimfast pretzels. I checked the ingredients list and it should have been OK, but I didn't have anything else that could have been a problem. Anyway, ended up feeling very weary and shaky, so thought I'd go to bed early. Just got laid down when I knew I was going to be sick, so jumped up again and hobbled to the bathroom. Just made it in time. Went back to bed and felt better by 2 am when I woke up and got up. I did have a headache by then though. Checked the packet of pretzels again, but there's nothing there that I would be suspicious of normally.

For breakfast eventually I had an avocado squashed onto 2 RyVitas and a fair amount of tea.

Right now, I'm actually hungry, but my stomach/throat have that horrid burning sensation which indicate that it isn't happy with the world. So I'd better plan on staying hungry for the rest of the day. This is my normal response to eating something I can't tolerate although I don't have allergic reactions as such. It will pass later today, or tomorrow. And I haven't even started taking my antibiotic yet.

They look like santini or mini plum tomatoes here. I use both of them a lot, particularly the mini plum now that better weather approaches.

Maybe it was a bug @Annb? Remember it was only a few weeks back that I was floored with what I thought was norovirus but, there was an 8 day gap before the sickness appeared. I was only sick once but I was violently sick and slept on and off all day. Various bugs are rife due to us not being exposed to the little nasties during the lengthy lockdowns.

Saturday 30 April - bed 7.6 FBG 7.4. A very busy day. I had a hour or so to get washing on the go as I was taking DIL to get a birthday present for a party the boys were going to. Got to the Fort to discover Chewbacca, Darth Vader and a Stormtrooper on site! (There was a fans convention in town). I also visited Hotel Chocolat. Regrettably, they still had 50% of the dark fix chocolates so another box found its way into my bag. I'd gone in to get the dark - dark rum truffles Hubby had taken a liking to but also spotted they were doing the dark gin truffles at 70% off! 3 packs for £4.05 could not be resisted.

B. TAG and a M&S cracker with whipped cheese.

L. Nothing after Star Wars & HC it was off to jujitsu, boys to party then took son shopping.
Back to find my shopping delivery had arrived.

D. Cold cuts. Slice each ox tongue, roast beef, smoked chicken, mini German sausage, pork, 1/2 avocado, santini tomatoes, mozzarella pearls, coleslaw and nicked 4 of Hubby's chips.
I had 2 vodkas and diet coke later and 1 gin truffle!

The burning sensation went away and I was feeling the hunger a bit more so I did what I had intended for today and made some cauliflower fritters. I had already blanched the cauliflower so it was just a case of making a little batter - coconut flour, paprika, turmeric, sea salt, one egg and some water to make a fairly thick batter. Shallow fried the dipped florets and some cloves of garlic in olive oil. Very pleasant. Feeling a bit squeamish right now, but I think it's allright.

The 10 day all inclusive holiday cost me a 4lb weight gain, which I think was mostly wine, and more wine
Off the alcohol now until my next break, which starts on Thursday!

B: yoghurt, seeds and berries. 1 hard boiled egg
Stroll round a local farm market. Bought plain yoghurt from just down the road, but haven't tried it yet. Seems a bit runny.
Coffee with cream, first in 11 days, oh I'd missed it so!
L: cheese crisps, 1 cheese and ham roll up. 1 sq hm lc cake
Gardening
Long snooze
D: roast chicken, veg, 1 tiny roast potato, berries and yoghurt. Cheeses, some lovely St Agur and a cambozola(?) (blue brie)
Although I'd had cheese every night while away it was always the same, so it was nice to have something different.
2 squares dark ginger and turmeric chocolate
