What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Well who knew I could hide things so effectively. Back from a week away and headed to Waitrose and Lidl to buy vast quantities of meat. While in Lidl I picked up a bar of their 85% chocolate, completely forgetting that I’d hidden a bar of Lindt 90% on top of the back cans of Diet Coke on the top shelf of the fridge so I couldn’t see it! It only came to view as I was struggling to fit everything I’d bought in.

Anyway, 2 squares of the 85% have now been consumed. That followed some air fried pork belly pieces and this morning’s cashew nuts.

No pics.

I discovered a HC Easter egg this week. Carefully hidden away from myself and only discovered when I was looking for something else in my wardrobe. I’m amazed I could forget about chocolate!

Yesterday was daughters wedding and apart from too much champagne, food was pretty ok. BBQ with salads for main meal and they gave me a huge cheeseboard instead of cake.
Today breakfast, still at venue which is a pretty forest campsite. Bacon and mushroom roll - I’d had the foresight to bring SLC roll along.
A long day of packing up but a lovely freshwater lake swim lifted our spirits.
Various snack foods - nuts, pepperami, seedy crackers, cheese and , because I’d accidentally pulled my Libre off my arm with a week left on it, I was annoyed with myself and ate a small apple - no way to check the effect but I loved it!
Dinner - from freezer Carne Guisada ( spicy mince) with cauli rice. Glass of red. Looking forward to my own bed now.

Nearly forgot food posts among all thsi sudden change! Text is too small for me so ready yourselves for more, yes more, typos!

B: yoghurt, walnuts and seeds.
L: 3 slices thin ham wrapped around cheese. 1 lc hm brownie.

Ran of washing powder. Popped out to supermarket. Got caught in major traffic jam. When eventually got there, no laundry liquid, only the expensive branded tabs. Also refiitng the store and the new lights and layout gave me a migraine by the 4 th aisle. So walked out and left hubby to get the cat food. Will now have to drive at least 5 miles further to go to a store that doesn't hurt me :mad:

D: 97% sausages with cauliflower and cheese. 1 glass white wine and soda. 4 sqs 70% chocolate. Too much, feeling nauseous now.

Listening to Dr Anna Lembke on addiction and dopamine and why we eat things that hurt us. Must buy her book, as I do this too often!

Baked beans on toast for breakfast.
Spicy seafood marinara, small portion of reheated pasta spirals in a spag bol sauce for lunch
Toasted ham and cheese sandwiches for supper at six.

Usual glass of single malt before I went to bed.

Mouth still very sore so food has to be soft again today.

Breakfast was 3 eggs scrambled.

2nd meal will be more of the mince from yesterday. Not sure what I did, but it was better than normal. Actually, one change I made was using courgettes instead of carrot - maybe that's what made the difference.

Font size here is 18. That allows me to see what I have written more easily.

Black coffee and cream
Beef cucumber and cheese
Smoked salmon

Back to an old favourite for today’s main event, which followed a bit too much contraband (85% choc and almond butter) and some raspberries, yoghurt and cream.

Added 2 eggs and some chopped bacon to the ’staples’ of mince, courgette, onion, feta and mozzarella.

Filled my freezer yesterday and uncovered some older than optimal bits and pieces which will feature this week.

No breakfast as straight to yoga.
A chunk of cheese at 11:00 before going to community coffee morning that has cake, cake and more cake. Did resist.
L: 2 soft boiled eggs with hm lc soda bread dippers. 1 hm lc brownie
Baked some lc coffee cake and seedy cracker
D: curries from the street van we found in the week. Very tasty. Had dhals rather than rice. No idea what's its done to bg. A small real ice cream.

1000hrs scrambled eggs 2x bacon
1400hrs steak sandwich using lettuce leaves for bread
1830hrs monk fish with cheese cauliflower and roasted veg
Some brazil and walnuts covered in melted 85%chocolate and allowed to cool. Delish

Been at my late parents house for the last couple of days clearing things we want to keep before house clearance come in, so eating has been a bit hap hazard. Kept low carb though, even going out for a family lunch today at my Mum’s favourite place. I’ll just post lunch, difficult menu to choose from to keep low carb, but this is how I managed!

Weekend of sailing.
As a rule, we (captain and deckhand) eat with the guests, and usually I don't because carbs.

We had a very long and beautiful sailing day, arriving at the harbour at 9pm, so the guests had cooked underway.
A very good green curry. They ate downstairs but no problem to bring us a plate, and no problem at all to leave out the rice for me, which meant they had unknowingly cooked a perfect low carb meal! :)

Having dinner while sailing in the sunset, doesn't get much better than that!

After docking I was just in time to take my dogs to the beach for a short swim before dark (I swam, dogs prefer to keep their bellies dry)!

Brilliant solution, and pictures

Beautiful pictures, Antje. Sounds like an idyllic time. Hope you enjoyed it all.

Been a bit bad today. I was given some dark chocolate - a make I hadn't seen before (Tirma - made in Spain), it was only 70% but I had to try it. Had 3 pieces (45g) before I stopped myself. It was reall good and it melted so easily in my mouth, so didn't have to hurt my gums to chew. Bad, bad, bad. I'll have to hide it from myself and try to forget it. If I put it in with the baking things, I might just be able to use it up, baking with Em.

I need an "envy" button

Bacon, well cooked fried eggs, two slices of vegimite on toast.
Couple of chicken legs, mixed salad for lunch.
Banana prawn omelette, left over salad for supper at six.

Glass of single malt before having a early night,.

Woke up about 2:30 am with some humdinger pains in my guts, another 10mg of oxycodone shut it up, but I cn just feel it starting to move about now at 10:30 am.

Wanted to send you a hug @Riva_Roxaban, but it wouldn't even let me paste in an emoji here. Hug for your pain though.

Currently 7 am here. I've been up since just after 3 am. Had a bad night trying to sleep from about 11 last night. I had a serious itch on the sole of my foot which kept me awake and so able to feel my toothache. Got up then and took pills for my toothache and the pain in my legs. Hasn't worked so far. The best thing about it is that it will go eventually and the itch in my foot has gone.

Soft food again today. More scrambled egg, I guess and the last of the mince for a second meal. Getting bored - dangerous situation with that chocolate still laying around.

Morning All
back to Friday..all brekkies a slice of LC toast, good butter and copious tea.
lunch out with a friend was the largest bowl of salad for one person, just ate half inc all the bacon bits, stilton bits and walnuts. Supper was Teriyaki Salmon with a spoon of peas.
Saturday lunch was Emmenthal and a spoon coleslaw
Supper was Chicken Shaslik on its own, not that hungry.
Today based on using stuff in fridge along lunch will be an avocado and some prawns. On that subject I am not in favour of supermarket plans to remove best before dates on fridge items as I try to shop once a week and stuff with the longest date (eg cold meat) goes underneath or behind the ones needing eating first. Same with yogurt, bacon, etc.
Supper today with be beef strips marinated with ginger, chilli and lemon stirfried with a variety of coloured peppers.
@Antje77 lovely scenes from your sailing day and a great supper cooked by someone else, win win! @Rachox clever eating of the pie/quiche. I remember @Riva_Roxaban saying he cuts the top off meat pies. Where we stayed last weekend they had some very fragrant meat pies with just a short crust top that could be lifted off. @Annb hope the gum pain eases up soon.

Hope it was a great day and the weather was kind. All the food sounds perfect especially the morning after bacon & mushroom brekkie! How annoying about the Libre though, they are so expensive anyway.
