What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Feel like I've eaten loads.

10-30am Breakfast was 2 slices bacon, 2 chipolatas, egg, and mushrooms. Coffee with cream
1pm G&T and 2 cold chiplolatas
5pm homemade veg soup, was a bit carby at over 12g. Followed by Salmon fillet, with a salad of lettuce, celery, cucumber, and mayo.
90% chocolate

Although I've indulged today, it was still a 22g carb day.

No breakfast. Just tea, tea and tea before going to get my legs bandaged again.
Lunch: the soup from yesterday with a lot of vegetables and ham added. Also added some dried chilli flakes. Tasted a lot better than the soup and there's another helping left for tomorrow.

2nd meal will be some oxtail stew out of the freezer.

Brunch of 3 hardboiled eggs with Hellman's. Dinner will be steak, cauliflower, cabbage and possibly a few runner beans if any left - haven't looked yet. Small amount of unripe hazelnuts as a starter, and the last glass of red wine afterwards before I go teetotal for a week.

I think I might now be able to reduce the hardboiled eggs to 2. Tomorrow's brunch will be lumpy soup, so I'll try the reduced eggery the next day. I'd like to lose a little more weight, but haven't much to cut back on, and I won't be hungry - did enough of that in the calorie controlled days.

10ish two boiled eggs with keto roll
1ish hm celeriac, leek and celery soup( one more portion left for tomorrow) followed by a spoon of hm rhubarb (slow cooked with ginger and lemon - plenty left in fridge for next few days) with yoghurt and three squares of 90%chocolate
5ish chicken and bacon with cauliflower cheese and mushrooms in a cream sauce plus glass of dry white wine followed by LC carrot cake

Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries washed down with a black coffee.
Late morning: black coffee and a phd bar.
Skipped lunch.
Mid afternoon: black coffee and a carb killa bar.
Dinner: Balti chicken curry with cauliflower rice.

Early start today, kefir then black coffee until 10am. Then Cheese omelette
Lunch was cold plate of prosciutto, avocado, few walnuts, slice of apple, feta cheese, garlic&dill sauerkraut ( copied your idea @shelley262 and used a little ramekin to keep the precious juice from running all over the plate)
D- airfried pork chop, small burger made with last of the hogget mince, buttered cabbage. Glass of Malbec. IMG_3432.jpg

Thursday 5 October - bed 7.2 FBG 6.8. Back to Aqua this morning. Physio tomorrow early. I thought today was Friday at one point! I am still without my own car. The media failure seems to be flummoxing the best minds at Toyota. At least I have an identical courtesy car!

B. TAG and 2 slices of SRSLY toast with cream cheese and salami. Benecol dairy free.

L. 2 Skinny Cracker company crackers with cream cheese.

D. Chicken shish kebab with salad and 6 of Hubby's chips! CC little chocolate pot with raspberries.

Youngest has relapsed again with this bug doing the rounds. It gave me peace after school to continue to revise maths with the eldest for his assessment next week.

Evening all

Today, we enjoyed a slap-up lunch with friends to celebrate my HbA1c test results. (I know, I know, normal folk go out to dinner to celebrate their birthdays, anniversaries, exam results etc.) One of us is gluten-intolerant, but staff at this particular eatery are happy to swap the potatoes (which come as standard with some entrées) for extra portions of non-starchy vegetables; sauces are served separately, also gravies on request, so diabetes and gluten-intolerance can be accommodated.

B: Two poached eggs topped with a knob of butter, slices of avocado and crevettes seasoned with black pepper.
Water to swallow tablets.
Espresso.

L: Aperitif: gin on the rocks with a slice of lemon.
Goat's cheese served with a pear poached in red wine, walnuts, lamb's lettuce, rocket, avocado and cucumber dressed with vinaigrette, topped with toasted nuts.
Monkfish Palermitano using sweet red peppers, sun-dried tomatoes, mushrooms, passata and garlic.
Spinach with garlic and butter plus deep fried zucchini matchsticks.
Broccoli, carrots and French beans.
Water to drink.
Skipped pud.
Espresso
Brandy on the house.

D: Seafood salad made with king prawns and kalamari, lettuce, baby plum tomatoes, celery, Romano peppers and salad onions dressed with olive oil plus a touch of lemon juice, lemon verbena and garlic, topped with toasted sunflower and pumpkin seeds.
Water to swallow tablets.

Woke at 5 and stayed still and quiet so as not to wake hubby. Then at 6:30 I heard him in the kitchen! Turns out it was him getting up early that woke me but I didn't realise he wasn't in the bed :banghead:

Still, it gave me time for 2 scrambled eggs before heading out to continue decorating and cleaning son's new house.

Except when got there 30 minutes away, neither of us had taken keys :banghead::banghead:
An extra hours round trip later... extremely fast decorating as we both has appointments to get to. Not even time for a cup of tea.
Made my appointment only 5 minutes late yay!

Lunch was at 2. 2 slices HiLo bread toasted, 1 with cheddar 1 with Blacksticks blue. Picked late raspberries and grapes and ate far too many. Bg peaked just under 9, which with all the stress wasn't too bad.

D. A 2 bean chilli. Boys had theirs with rice. I only used half a can of kidney beans in 5 portions but added green beans.
2 small glasses red.

However, the constant movement while decorating seems to be being good for bg. Just got 4.5. Haven't seen a 4 in yonks.

Evening meal today was the same as yesterday: Fried onions, bell pepper and garlic mixed with green beans, some Indonesian hot sauce and a little black beans in chilli oil for flavour. Had it with a fried egg and a half cubed pork belly strip, marinated in black bean and garlic sauce, yum!

Tomorrow will be a bit of a nightmare I expect. Neighbours-in-the-garden asked if I wanted to join ordering food from their favourite pizza place to be delivered and share a meal.
Good idea, apart from pizza they also sell things like spareribs, shawarma and doner so no problem for me. :)
Except the ordering is online, so I can't change what's on the menu, and everything includes either something bready or fries. :(
The easy solution of course would be giving them a phonecall, or even driving up there beforehand to see if they mind accomodating. But my brain isn't really playing fair this week, and even the thought of calling makes my brain go NOPE very loudly.

Thankfully I'm blessed with very good friends with a sound head, so I called my friend to help me out on this one. Together we worked out that my brain is being stupid, but we can't change that right now. Ordering a Turkish pizza with doner will have me need to work on diabetes until deep in the night, but this is much easier on my anxiety right now than dealing with special requests, so I'd better enjoy that lahmacun tomorrow!

07:30 cup of tea
11:30 cup of peppermint tea
13:45 2 medium boiled eggs in mayo and black pepper, olives and a hunk of cheddar.
19:15 Fish curry; Cod, haddock, aubergine, spinach, onion, garlic, 2 chilies, cardamons, ginger, cumin, tom puree and peanut butter. Toppings, toasted sliced almonds, pumpkin seeds and a medium boiled egg diced. leftovers will be lunch tomorrow. :)

Morning all. I'm really happy this morning, my fbg was 6.4 after a couple of months of 9's to 15's. Being strict with myself is paying off, just have to keep it up! Yesterday I went out with my granddaughter for lunch and had a prawn salad and water to drink. I've even cut down the sweeteners in my coffee, 1 now instead of 2 or even sometimes 3. It's taking some getting used to tho. My granddaughter Abbie has come to live here after living in America since she was18 months old. She hated it and has wanted to come back for years and now is happily living with her cat not too far from me and it's wonderful. Once a month I have all 3 grandchildren together and makes me feel young again! lol. Todays menu is cwc and a small 5g carb tin of tuna with tomato for bf. Sausages and green veg either steamed or fried and if I'm hungry at tea time, 2 boiled eggs. My carb intake was 26g yesterday. Have a good day folks. :)

This is great news! I’ve no doubt the happiness you feel at having the 3 grandchildren around is helping your BG just as much as regaining control of your diet.

That meal looks really tasty. I hope tonight’s goes well. Hugs for your currently addled brain and anxiety, but thank heavens for lovely friends.
