Mine does that but I've discovered the drivers door is more prone to the chill as its parked more exposed and I can often get in through the passenger side. Not elegant but at least I can get going.

Hugs for the HMRC call. I used to have to contact them for work and found:
Never call on a Monday or a Friday
Afternoons are better than mornings
Don't accept the answer from the first person. Keep calling until you get to one who gives you the answer you want

(Note, all the above applies to other government and councils too)

Good tips. So me calling Monday morning was the worst possible choice? haha. I have to say when I finally got through to someone he was very nice and helpful and said he’d escalate my form.
Re the car - I did try all the doors, even the boot - that would have given the neighbours a laugh for sure if I’d had to crawl in that way.

I had sauerkraut mash on saturday and sunday, and today should have been the third and final day. But...
Back home after a wonderful evening yesterday and a completely rubbish night of sleep on the ship. So little sleep, interspersed with hypo alarms, that I decided that going for a cold swim would be quite unwise so I didn't.
Hopefully swimming will still be possible on monday evening instead, I expect this will be the last day swimming is possible without bringing an axe, considering the weatherforecast. I plan to swim after my first kickboxing lesson, which will be from 7 to 8 pm, so I'm looking at a proper night swim! :joyful:
The kickboxing lesson lasted for almost an hour and a half, so the swimming was at 8:45 pm (and lasted for about 2 minutes).
It was magical: clear sky, no moon, and a clear view of the Milky Way while swimming!
Also very cold with a biting wind from the east, and our swimming gloves froze stuck to the railing when getting out! :hilarious:

Back home and settled on the couch with a blanket and a beer at 9:30, and now it's 10:30 which is a bit late for a proper meal even for me.
So I'll have a low carb sandwich shortly, and save the last of the sauerkraut for tomorrow. :)

Yes, I did get that offer from DD, but I haven't read it yet. What exactly is the new site?

I joined for the free trial period but have already cancelled. I didn’t find the food lists very helpful. It seems to be based around Ted Naiman’s PE ratio . It has another aspect they call the Hedonic score, which is about how tempting the food is.
They have an algorithm which takes protein, calories, fibre and this hedonic score and gives you a total satiety score.
I don’t think it adds anything I need to my life.

Morning all. With a high reading again, I'm going to fast as long as possible today and eat as little as possible. I know it could all be down to the pain in my back and headaches, but it worries me what damage it's doing. I have some hm soup in the freezer for today and a tin of salmon for tea if hungry. Have a good day everyone. :)

I can relate to that. My son and DIL, 2 grandsons, 1 very large dog, 3 cats, plus loads of their belongings, lived with us for 4 months while their new build was being completed. They are less than 1 mile away. Even now, I still have some of their stuff in our attic.

6 January - bed 8.9 FBG 7.7. I still haven't fully recovered from that Chinese meal. @RosemaryJackson - welcome back. @DJC3 - thanks for that. I won't bother checking out the new DD thing, although this morning's email brought with it an invite to reserve a seat at the launch in Stockholm! Unfortunately, it doesn't include travel & accommodation! @Rachox - enjoy your holiday. So sorry that your foot isn't healing as it should.

B. TAG and 2 slices of GF toast with ham & cheese and onion. Benecol dairy free.

L. Nothing. Usual tour for shopping with son.

D. Cold cuts. Slice each of ham, roast beef, pork and egg, coronation chicken, German sausage (minis), coleslaw, veggie salad, ox tongue. Scoop of vanilla ice cream & sliced strawberries.

It was quite difficult to get a choice of cold cuts today. Even the butcher didn't have any after the holiday on Monday & Tuesday. I decided last night that it's time to put together diet doctor DD meals again. I planned a whole week of dinners, so there will be no debate over our dinners.

Cheese omelette not long finished. Less cheese this time so I'm hoping my stomach will deal with it better than last time. Seems OK just now.

Having hot water with a slice of lemon for drinks today to see if I can get away from tea with milk in it.

2nd meal will be gammon steak. I asked Neil to get me some in today's shopping and all he could find was a packet which is out of date today. So that's what it will have to be.

BG was 8.0 this morning, but it came down before breakfast to 7.0 so by this evening I should be allright to have some Brussels sprouts with the gammon.

7 January - bed 7.9 FBG 7.3. I thought I was finally working my Chinese error out of my system, but BGs are still in Yo-yo mode throughout the day.

B. TAG and a slice of GF toast with coronation chicken. Benecol dairy free.

L. Nothing

D. First day of Diet Doctor dinners. A mini mixed grill! (with additions). 1 GF sausage, 1 lamb cutlet, small piece of sirloin (it's under the egg), small bit of GF Black pudding, portobello mushroom, santini tomatoes, spinach, cobette, and 1 onion ring. Campari and soda.
Little chocolate pot was definitely NOT required after that!

8 January - bed 7.6 FBG 6.9. I still have Yo-yo BGs during the day. School is back, so up bright and early for the school runs.

B. TAG and 2 slices of SRSLY toast, one with cheese & onion, the other with coronation chicken. Benecol dairy free.

L. Nothing

D. DD again. 2 beef kebab skewers with sour cream. Added in cauliflower fried rice. CC little chocolate pot with 4 raspberries. Gin & soda.

Caught up again! Phew.

Spicy food which is too hot. Nasty people who have no idea on your life journey but feel the need to comment and be cruel.

Very cold out today so lots of hot black coffee needed while out and about - I also find I feel even colder when fasting (as I was today except for my daily morning small kefir with supplements)
One main meal at 4 when back home chilli which had been left to cook in slow cooker and one slice of LC garlic bread then LC warmed Blondie with yoghurt.
Also got back to find a delivery from the low carb company including my first low carb rolls from them they look and smell like real bread so I have high hopes and I know they are a favourite of others including @Rachox . Got them frozen straight away and will try one and report back later this week when I've tried them. The LC pasta I ordered from them looks good too.

Kefir vitamins and black coffee first thing, then out to meet a friend late morning. The coffee was so nice we had another and sat a while longer. By the time I got home I was ravenous but had to take Dennis out.
Late Lunch started with a handful of almonds ( a Muslim friend says her family always break their Ramadan fasts by nibbling on nuts to ease themselves in before the big feasting begins, otherwise the temptation is to eat too quickly )
Lunch was then supposed to be air fried beef skinny ribs but they were taking too long so had an omelette while waiting!
Unsurprisingly I wasn’t hungry by dinner time so had a small salad ( rocket, celery, avocado, olives, pumpkin seeds and blue cheese) to keep Paul company while he ate a heartier meal.

Tuesday 9 January - bed 7.8 FBG 7.3. My BGs are finally showing signs of stabilising again. Boys still settling back into normal routine.

B. TAG and 2 slices of SRSLY toast with egg mayo. Benecol dairy free.

L. I was swayed by cheese again! 3 M&S crackers and the last of the wensleydale.

D. DD again - cauliflower Alfredo. It wouldn't be me if I didn't change it slightly. I didn't have spinach, so I added peas, mushrooms, cauliflower rice. Very filling. I am currently on a gin and soda. I doubt the chocolate pot will figure tonight.

I'm just going to start working a Chinese meal out of my system. My bloods have been playing silly beggars, I have things going on, a few health issues (not diabetes related), freedom issues & some family. I only have one meal a day, evening dinner. After getting another 7.7 at 5pm, after only having water all day & since last night, I then decided s** it, so ordered some Chinese. I enjoyed it, but already regret it.

Something good & I feel very lucky as I'm non medicated T2. I got a text from the surgery earlier, saying that they have updated the GlucoRx test strip script to Q strips, with a code to put in on the website to receive the new meter direct from GlucoRx. Maybe I'll hold off testing until that arrives. ;)

Definitely!
If I'm cold it only takes eating something to get warm again, even if it's cold food.

Today was the last of the sauerkraut mash with 'rookworst' and pork belly. It was more than a portion but less than two, both mash and meat, so I reheated and plated all of it, and between myself and 3 dogs it all disappeared. :)

It looks like I'll have my neighbour's dog (cousin of my dogs) from mondays to thursdays for a long time, good thing he's already used to odd foods. Found him eating a giant raw carrot in my bed this afternoon, but it has now disappeared to the last morsel. :hilarious:

A beef and onion stew for tomorrow is happily blubbing away over the flame of my antique 'slow cooker' in the kitchen, I'll only need to make some cauliflower mash to go with it tomorrow. :)

Seems we have more in common than the same birthday

I am usually OK with certain Chinese meals, but this was a new Chinese, and obviously, there was something there in a normally "safe" dish. I'm going to remake the garlicky pak choi myself this week, with sesame prawns, so no unexpected nasties!

Yep, seems so! :woot:
Same here, I do try to stick to lower carb & never eat the prawn crackers! :arghh: Enjoy your homemade version.
