What was your fasting blood glucose? (full on chat)

. Today is Dynorod day frequent flyers in this close. It appears the world leading drainage was installed by Coco the clown/Bojo.What is washing up by hand all about in the c21st???? fortunately we have 2 fully functional well separated loos upstairs which is just as well as MIL has transitus severeus. :bigtears: Have an above average Tuesday everyone - except for bg levels.
Thank you @ianpspurs. I have some nice warm Marino wool socks so all is not lost. All the best with the drainage. Don’t get fined for any pollutants seeping under the black door at number 10 and spilling down into their lockdown party rooms.

I'm sure a local school would be able to show the kids what was used before calculator and computers.
Not sure if anyone teaching in schools would know how to use one now. I still have the original instructions with mine and have fitted headsets to that I can do all my napirien calculations in silent mode.

All the old time maths teachers have long gone now. Calculators are the tool these days - even for navigators.

Had to look up napirien calculations but having done that, I am still none the wiser, except that they are named for a guy called Napier. I have to remind myself that I was told not to attend the maths class from the third year at the grammar school - they had given up on me, but I have always had a problem with numbers and always got into a panic when asked to do anything mathematical well into my twenties, when I calmed myself down a bit and realised that simple maths was not beyond me. Never did get to understand logarithms and such. Second nature to Tom, of course, being a navigator but he didn't try to teach me.

Been sjops, got wet! Gggrrrrr!!!

@gennepher did you get car sorted,I'm too lazy to go through the weekend posts!
It is an ongoing saga @Lamont D
Here's a copy and paste of a post I did a couple of days ago....
"It turns out that I have a complimentary Bluelink free in my car until 2027. This runs the infotainment centre along with the sat nav and all the controls for other features and safety features which are within the car infotainment centre.

At various times something comes up on the infotainment screen when I turn on the engine and it says I cannot use Bluelink or satnav or all the features on the infotainment centre, unless I agree at the end of this lengthy document. Currently I have this complementary Bluelink up to 2027.

I was talking with my daughter in Australia this morning, and explaining about all my problems with the car and the noisy intrusive alarms. And explained that the software on the infotainment centre changed from time to time as though it had updated. I also explain that there is an icon on the right of the entertainment centre telling me that it is LIVE as I am driving as though it is connected up to something and some transmission is taking place.

The icons sometimes change place on the infotainment screen, as if it had had an update. I couldn't understand this because I didn't know it was connected up to something for this to happen.

Apparently there's an app to go with this, the car's infotainment screen did invite me to download the app when I first got the car, but I did not do that.

I have learnt that this is OTA software and it's updates my car's vehicles system software remotely and automatically and it keeps up to date without me doing anything or visiting a dealership.

I've had a look at the app but I have not downloaded it because there is a whole new world on that app to me... Things that you can do with your car that are way out of my knowledge. Like you can even make a digital key with your phone and the app to start your car.

I have had my fill of new technology today and I cannot take one more thing into my poor little brain.

I am just a girl who was brought up on a farm with no electricity, no sanitation, it was an oil drum in the pig sty. I didn't attend school most of the time (I couldn't hear what was being said anyway). I just roamed the countryside with my dog.

Life was simple back then.

I am a cantankerous old biddy and I want my life to be simple in my old age.

According to the app I can get alarm notifications if someone tries to break into my car, I can do remote diagnostic checks, and a whole pile of other stuff. But all I want to do is turn off all these alarms and safety alerts, which are unnecessary in my opinion.

Apparently I can even find my car up to a 1 mile radius, if I have forgotten where I have parked it, if I have the app...

Now I understand, that this car snitched on me (I was only joking when I said that last week), when I tried to turn off safety settings because initially it let me turn them off and did not reinstate them, but a day later the imfotainment screen now decides that it's going to tell me straight away that I cannot turn these settings off and it is going to recheck these safety settings immediately. It did not do that in the first place."

I have been on a chat line to the car dealers. They say the safety features stay.

I do appear however, to have cut out the majority of the alarm noise from the safety features.

I was going on a trip tomorrow to see how it is to drive at the moment and if it is tolerable for me. But my friend just cancelled. So, depending on the weather I may or may not go out tomorrow.

I might yet end up getting a horse and cart, at least that won't have any alarms on it, nor have constant updates to keep it running...

I have found out why that 12 volt battery went dead. Apparently these OTA updates carry on even if your car is standing in the driveway and not being used. And this can be a drain on that 12volt battery.

A friend has just told me that she thought it was a fried egg in the doorway of my pen sketch this morning....
I am not happy...I thought it was obviously a red sun...
Now all I can see is a fried egg in that doorway ..

Eye test went well optician said she couldn’t see any big problems eye drops stung a bit and eyes took hours to return to normal.

Keiran dropped me of and came to fetch us home afterwards so that was good.

When he had dropped us off and left as we were heading over to the opticians we suddenly were confronted with a man obviously having mental health problems walking through the town square shouting and swearing and waving his arms about in fact raging with anger and raving bit unnerving but he passed us by and went on his way still raving and disappearing around a corner.
A sign of the times I thing so sad to see.

Got some information from the optician about cataract I mentioned that I had been told that NHS would only fund surgery on one eye but this is wrong they will fund it depending on if it is worse than the first one but also if there is a medical reason to do so and as the cataract is interfering with the diabetic eye screening that fulfills the criteria.

Sad state of affairs, I agree.

Pretty good result otherwise.
Marvelous stuff

To me, and I might be effected by all the running around I have done.
My eyes are tired.
However, it does seem to resemble the outline of the western coastline of the peninsula. It definitely has a peninsula shape in white.
It doesn't make me hungry, makes me reminisce about my youth.

God knows what the squiggly lines are? Maybe invasion of Portuguese man of wars. (Jellyfish to you landlubbers!)

Sorry @gennepher!

The numbers sleeping rough or homeless, like everything this tory government has touched is broken and out of control. It is such a common sight in the towns and cities, professional beggars, all have specs. Also the numbers going to food banks. It is a shocking indictment of this bunch of ........!

You may interpret my painting anyway you wish @Lamont D
Just not interpret it as a fried egg....

This current weather is far too warm for me, I have all the doors and windows open @Krystyna23040

Also we need a longer colder harder winter to kill the bugs...
Yes, I agree this weather is far too warm for February @gennepher. The humidity is also really high which is triggering my allergy to mould spores. When it is a lot colder the humidity is really low and the mould spores seem to disappear.
