If it's any help at all, sometimes we just do what we can, and the rest isn't up to us. A friend I met on here hasn't been on in ages because she feels like a fraud: Knows what to do and how to do it, but was unable to shift weight or get blood glucose control. Because sometimes, there are other factors at play, and we just have to work with what we've got.5.7 on libre this morning. Like others I find it a massive help to keep an eye on things despite the almost prohibitive cost. I have been watching the Glucose Goddess on the television. She gives tips and advice mainly about weight loss and reducing BS. Unfortunately she shows folks bringing down the BS and having very little spikes whereas although my BS has come down the libre graph looks like a hedgehogs back! There is nothing I can eat, even the recommended nuts in small portions adds a baby spike on daily curve despite using some of her tips to avoid spikes. Much like @JoKalsbeek and @PenguinMum everything I eat spikes my BS it is just a matter of how high and even low carb days don't seem to have much effect for next day.
I have always been baffled by the BS logic (if there is such a thing) but have learned enough to at least reduce my medication however I cannot see a pathway to eliminating medication altogether as suggested by many in the world of diabetes. I think for some of us it is just the way our bodies work and we have to manage it as best we can with meds, diet, exercise etc and using all the tools and measurements available. Sounds a bit negative but certainly for me the most practical.

I get you
If I stick to mainly meat and eggs fish and butter I’m ok.
Sometimes this seems restrictive
What a great reply.Thankyou.xIf it's any help at all, sometimes we just do what we can, and the rest isn't up to us. It's nice if others can manage to get to their ideal, but for me, I'll just be pleased to avoid complications. Which might not be entirely possible, but I've learned there's only so much I can do and control. Hard lesson to learn, though, I have to admit.![]()
8.1 then up to 8.4 after a shower and putting the dustbin out for collection. That dates me doesn't it? Have a good day![]()
It is a shame they are so expensive .My last morning post using the expensive but amazing libre. I somewhat regret my concern about cost as it’s made the last 2 weeks in this unusual ( for me ) environment a useful and interesting exercise . I’ve tried local drug stores and there’s none to be had here
Anyhow 5 on the libre on waking , currently 6 while sipping coffee awaiting breakfast
Have a good week end all if you possibly can
A hug for your pain and a like for the snowdrops .8.4 for me today. I've been in quite a bit ofm pain so maybe understandable. But, ohhhh I wish I was normal lol!! Have a great weekend. I've seen some snowdrops, so pretty, so spring is round the corner.![]()
