Has anyone experienced an increase in anxiety (and tremors) when their insulin dose is higher?

    Recent hypoglycemia reaction

Hi folks, I have been having hypoglycemia recently (6 months) at the onset of a new med prescription. I have had to reduce my insulin units from 44 to at least 12 so as to maintain a "normo" blood sugar. Anxiety and tremor are associated with this change and night sweats. I am pretty sure it...

Do you take insulin every day?

Hi, I have glyclazide, metformin and Humulin insulin in my diabetic care basket. My numbers vary according to diet, activity, and meds. I sometimes don't need to take the max dose for all, though glyclazide and met I take at least once every day. I wonder if you take insulin every day?

The lower the insulin, the higher the blood sugar?

Isn't that the way it's supposed to be?

    Thyroxine supplementation and insulin

Does thyroxine inrease or decrease insulin levels? I think I am hyperthyroidic, for med reasons, but the insulin dose may play a role too. Thank you for any info. My search resulted in uber-medical language.

    Insulin shortage

News report: shortage of insulin in Ukraine-related war: I have saved numerous "left over short dose" vials of Humulin N. (ironically, "in case of the Apocalypse") . Is it a good idea to collect them and send them to Poland, e.g.? Would they go through customs?

    "Diabetic" Library

I have some good books on diabetes. Here are two of my favourites: 1. "Diabetes Care: a practical manual", Dr. Rowan Hillson MBE, Consultant Physician, Diabetes and Endocrine Unit, Oxford University Press, 2008 Oxford Care Manuals 2. "The Joslin Guide to Diabetes", Richard S. Beaser, M.D. with...

How much insulin do you take?

I'm curious about members here taking insulin: your dose, time taken, type, if you are T1 or T2, side effects? I would like to compare your insulin treatment with mine and if you adjust it from time to time.

Is a small amount of carbohydrates equivalent to low carbohydrates

I have half a muffin in the morning and usually a cottage cheese/carrot salad or soup for lunch, and maybe fish or quiche, bean/lentil type suppers with small amounts of crackers/cheese through the day. I abide by my meter numbers to stay in a safe range. I am wondering if a small amount of...

    Mango Smoothie

Meter no.: 22 I thought it was kind of sweet; treat at the plaza walking; rushed home feeling sick, treating with 6 units insulin and glyclazide-- that's why glyclazide should not be removed from my regimen, imo.

    New med regimen and hypos

I don't think my new med regimen is safe. Woke up in sweats- hypo at 2.9. Hope my drs. will understand if i stop them due to the risk of oversleeping snack intervals.

    NSAIDs

Do NSAIDs like "Naproxen" increase blood sugar? I took one this morning for knee pain and got severe tingling in my extremities, and a higher than normal blood sugar reading. I prefer Acetominophen, but I took this one because I have a prescription and thought I would give it a try.

Happy Special New Year - 2022

Wishing you all a Happy New Year with a glaring strobe light from the end of the tunnel. I have been in transition for the past month in meds, treatment, and doctors, and things are changing for the better I think. My thanks for your help and patience of a pre-medical-negligent state partly...

Divalproex and Latuda effect on blood sugar

I have recently been switched to Divalproex and Latuda from long-term lithium usage. I have noticed a significant rise in blood sugar levels with these drugs, e.g. waking up with 6.4, after the same insulin, same breakfast, same activity, a little more stress, the blood sugar rises to e.g. 9.8...

    Humulin N injection

I use insulin every night through syringe-pen injection. In the past few months I have had pain and ( cont'd. tremor) on the top of my thighs and tingling at the ends of my hands and feet (due to possibly lithium reduction related or other med interaction). I would like to rule out "site of...
