Bazuka veruca gel - not for diabetics?

I bought this for a veruca I got, I think from swimming. Just read the instructions and seen it’s not for people with diabetes? Any reason why? Can I still use it?

    Hulk Hogan doesn't eat sugar

I saw this today and was amazed as I remember Hulk Hogan the wrestler from 30 years ago. Turns out he has inflammation and ditched sugar. It was really interesting to hear his opinions particularly as an athelete!

Can I exercise if I have a cold?

I've had a cold for a few days and wondered if it is still good to exercise or whether that is bad for recovery?

What cover of a song is as good as or better than the original?

Had a really enjoyable family day out which ended in an evening at the pub today. We discussed which cover songs are better than their originals? For me it’s got to be Soft Cell - Tainted Love which was originally by Gloria Jones! Love that song.

    Paying for nhs care

I saw on the bbc this morning that in Scotland they are considering asking people who earn over a certain threshold to contribute to their care. On one hand I agree that it’s a good idea because of costs, resources and the strain the nhs has but on the other hand I think the nhs should be free...

What’s in your black out box?

I read an article in the guardian today which said that Britons are preparing blackout boxes. https://www.theguardian.com/society/2022/oct/23/first-aid-kits-torches-fairylights-britons-prepare-blackout-boxes Strangely enough I have made an emergency box with my OH. We have bought a generator...

    Tested positive for COVID

Hi everyone! I tested positive for COVID yesterday and wondered if anyone else has? Has anyone else? What were your symptoms? how long did they last? I can’t smell anything, which is how I thought it may be COVID. No idea where I could’ve got it from, I’ve been so safe for so long. Oh well...

    Vaccine passport

I’m not sure whether vaccine passports are a good thing and would rather a negative test was shown for groups and gatherings as it seems people are still getting covid if they’ve had a vaccine. Is this correct? From I’ve read it seems only a negative test can actually save us from harm?

What’s the first thing you will do when lockdown eases?

I cannot wait to... (in no particular order) - go for afternoon tea with my daughters [emoji477]️ - eat a rare steak with my husband (too scared to do raw at home!) - attend church events with my friends and see peoples bodies rather than just their heads!

    New Year resolutions

What is everyone doing for new year resolutions this year? My resolutions of getting out more may be scuppered by the tier 4 lockdown. I've started to reduce my eating window too, hoping to do 16:8 in January.

    COVID vaccination

I have had a delightful conversation with my friends this evening about the COVID vaccination. It was interesting to see everyone’s perspective. We were split in the middle between taking it immediately and not taking it at all.

What are people thinking about a second lockdown?

Hi everyone - my area is under a second lockdown but I see people walking around not wearing masks and on the bus I was the recipient of some very rude language for talking about why we should we be wearing masks. I'm really worried about what could happen this winter. What has been your...

    Anyone been shopping yet?

Has anyone been brave/foolish (delete as appropriate!) to venture out shopping yet? How was it? I didn’t go today but saw the news just now and the queues look horrendous! Happy to stick with click and collect for now!!

Danger of covid compared to the risk of everyday life

Hi everyone - I wondered to what degree people are going about their usual tasks currently or whether people are still at home? As we come out of lockdown I’m beginning to venture outdoors with a proper mask. I don’t seem to be the only one either! [emoji38] Part of the worry seems to be...

    CBD oil and diabetes

I’ve been reading a lot about the benefits of CBD and wondered if anyone used it? I understand it’s not psychedelic and is good for anxiety but I can’t find any standardised measures or dosing information so wasn’t sure how claims are being made!!

COVID-19: are you wearing a mask?

I'm seeing far more people wearing masks when going to the supermarket now and wondered whether people are wearing a mask or not? I've been wearing a makeshift mask but think I may a "proper" one. x

    Dangerous adverts of the past

Quarantine has had me Googling some of the adverts of the past. They're laughable today but makes you wonder how this RUBBISH scientific evidence ever was believed or whether it was misleading half-truths used purposefully. Either way, all of these will either make you laugh, or plain shock you...
