Thanks very much for the vote of confidence, @Lamont D
I very much enjoyed my time here as both a regular poster, and a mod, but my life has moved on, and at the moment, there are lots of other things filling my time, so I will decline.
Best wishes to the new mods, whoever they are, it is a great experience.
We had another anonymous nomination come in.
@jjraak , would you like to stand for election?
I wish you all the best with mending your limbs and yourself!Chuffed to Be nominated .
Thank you anonymous nominator.
Had said previously I'd give it serious consideration if I was nominated again
But sadly for now my energies are fully focused on rebuilding broken limbs, & getting myself back to some semblance of mobility, to really have time or do the role justice, for the foreseeable future.
So I must graciously decline
Best wishes to all nominated
A fine choice who ever succeeds.
I’ve just caught up with this, thanks for alerting me Antje and Ellie.Bumping this and reminding everyone that more nominations are welcome, whether you want to do so anonymously via a mod or direct on the thread.
And a reminder to
@catinahat
@Fairygodmother
@Pipp
@PenguinMum
@Daibell
that you've all been nominated but haven't yet said whether you are accepting...
Thanks for your reply!I’ve just caught up with this, thanks for alerting me Antje and Ellie.
Thank you, too, anonymous proposer. I’m flattered.
I decline, though; I’d be far too haphazard in my visits to the forum, though the discussions with other mods sound good. I don’t think an on/off mod would be fair to anyone. Sorry.
I think I will do a better job by remaining on this side of the fence, but thank you to whoever put me up for it. As a pleb in the forum, I can speak my mind clearly and I would find being a Mod would be a hindrance to my research activities. From here I can invoke the wrath of the gods by hitting the Report button, and it seems to work quite well.

Hi everyone! It's that time of the year again where we look to refresh the panel of moderators who volunteer to moderate the Diabetes.co.uk Forum.
Forum moderator nominations 2022 are
open!
We're pleased to open up nominations for members to become a forum moderator for 2022-2023.
@Andydragon , @Antje77 , @EllieM, @Jaylee and @VashtiB are existing moderators and wish to complete their 2 year terms, as they were all elected in 2021 they don't need re-election till 2023.
@Rachox and @searley are stepping down for personal reasons
This means we need to elect 3 new moderators in 2022.
Moderators play a significant role in ensuring the diabetes forum is a safe, compassionate and inclusive place for all. We welcome lively discussion but are always mindful we are in this together. I'd like to thank the moderators for their time and effort over the last year (and more!). What a year the last 12 months have proved to be!
HOW TO NOMINATE:
Please tag a forum member to nominate them (you can say why too if you like, but please keep this post about nominations). All forum members must confirm their nomination (unless self-nominating) before they will be added to the nominations list.
Nominations will close on 15th May.
Anonymous nominations: people can nominate by sending a PM to any moderator on the forum, if you prefer to remain anonymous.
WHAT HAPPENS AFTER NOMINATIONS ARE CONFIRMED:
After nominations are confirmed, there will be a 28 day election period where members can vote for their forum moderators!
A panel of 8-10 moderators is desired to maintain diversity within the moderator team.
Once the date has passed, votes will be collected and the moderator team announced.
KEY DATES:
3rd May - 15th May (midnight): nominations open for moderators 2022-2023
20th May - 12th June: voting opens
13th June: announce elected moderators
Results announced ASAP thereafter.
Induction period for new and existing moderators to follow.
We look forward to this year's nominations, elections and welcoming new community forum moderators.

Hi @Scorpiovr , welcome to the forum!
Thanks for considering me suitable but I'm not the right person for the job and now is not a good time. I really appreciate anyone who feels I could conceivably ever be suitable. I imagined you to be a person of impeccable taste (until that faux pas)Can I nominate @ianpspurs please
How unexpected it is! Thank you, but I don't even speak English well enoughAnd another last minute anonymous nomination came in!
@Zhnyaka , would you like to have a go at being elected as a mod?
