Thank you for the nomination - I love taking part in the forum and really appreciate all the work our amazing moderators do - thank you so much. But my current caring responsibilities are, I feel, still too demanding for me to stand for election as a moderator. I no longer care for mum but her death has had a big impact not just on me, I'm still grieving, but others in the family and my adult autistic son in particular.Hi,
I’ve just had a secret nomination from a member that wishes to anonymously suggest.

Sleep on it before deciding.Oh, thank you, whoever you are!
To be honest, I do not know what to answer. On the one hand, I am an IT specialist and any technical part does not pose difficulties for me, but on the other hand, I am very bad at English and if I turn off the translator, I will understand less than half and it seems to me that competent speech is important for a moderator. Besides, I don't really like to communicate with people and my oral speech is very full of obscene words. I know a little about T1 (mostly about my T1, which turns 19 tomorrow), but I know practically nothing about T2, which is the majority on the forum... and... to be honest, I am not sure that according to the laws of my country I am not in danger of criminal liability for this.

It's something I'd be keen to volunteer for if possible in the future as I have a strong belief in our amazing forum.
I'm adding all of them to the opening post!Hi,

There's no need to know all about all types of diabetes to be a mod either, it's mostly about keeping the forum a safe and friendly place for all. And your IT knowledge could prove very useful.
I thought this would be the case after last year, but please see your nomination as a compliment.Sadly neither my eyesight nor my typing skills have improved since asked last year. It takes me an age to write a reply and would hate to do typo giving the wrong info.
I'll continue to pitch in when I can, but couldn't do it with accuracy and timeliness needed.
Wishing well to all who could.
Very good question which needs a well composed answer. What does moderator work involve at all (except for the obvious "If you see an ad, delete it")? How many hours a day should you spend on this?
We don’t just look for members to tell off, as most behave perfectly within the ethos and rules. What does moderator work involve at all (except for the obvious "If you see an ad, delete it")? How many hours a day should you spend on this?

My thanks for the nomination but I regret I must decline as I'm involved with a committee that reviews documents issued to diabetics and proposals for research projects and this takes up a fair bit of my free time.
Yes, it is also interesting, and ,generally speaking, rewarding.Generally speaking, it is fun!
Is that an offer to nominate yourself for election???Generally speaking, it is fun!

unfortunately, that is not something mods deal with. So sorry can’t help. Admin have been working on it, but it is not for discussion in this thread.Just a question?
Where are the blogs?
Maybe a new mod could find them for me.
They are an invaluable source of people's experience through their journey with diabetes!
