Weekly weigh in - Fridays

Today I weigh 77.9 kg, a loss this week of .7kg. 20.6kg, or 41 family Christmas puddings... Next week I expect to have put weight on, only from volume of food, not all bad choices. However... it's a minefield. Good luck to those of us celebrating this season, it's tough when those around us are partaking of such tasty treats and we're on the side lines. Keep strong, we're in this together. Merry Christmas, see you on the other side!.
I thought I'd avoided those tasty treats this year as we had intended to have a very healthy Xmas with lots of salads and vegan "meats". Then, last minute, our son said he would be visiting. Suddenly the house is ramned with cheeses, sausage rolls, mushroom plait, mince pies and stollen.

I'm not complacent, but neither am I worried. I 'could' have it, but whether I 'should' have it is another matter. So I'll stick to my own yummy bits and leave the cakes and pastry to my son. If I'm honest, I always used to overindulge so I'm seeing it as I'd rather be seen as a party pooper and alive than a dead ex-glutton.

Thanks everyone!

@IanBish enjoy that NY cheesecake, I am sure you will be back to healthy eating after it has gone!

@callyandy .7kg is great for this time of year - it is so hard at the moment.

@bolingbroke - you have done so well to lose so much and congrats on the 1lb off this week!

@Welshman1952 well done on losing the 2lb and on having such a great loss since the beginning of the month - that is fabulous.

@May Mic - yes, those ounces add up and losing even one ounce is a cause for celebration at this time of the year.

Good luck everyone for the week ahead and I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas!

Just done a rough carb/calorie check for the 25th, even if I don't "over" indulge the numbers are horrendous compared to my normal day. I know it's only 24 hours, but honestly, even the sensible options will lead to a stall in my downward trend. But I'm gonna work hard at avoiding the sweetstuff, and stick to veggies... and, like you, work on the Bee Gees philosophy... Staying alive!"

Oooh, I daren't look at what mine will be, but like you, I will be avoiding the unnecessary sweet stuff and concentrating on enjoying the healthy stuff, but with a little extra indulgence. I don't mind if my weight stalls for a week, just so long as it doesn't go up. Good luck and above all, have a great day!

Oh dear! I was away yesterday so decided to weigh in this morning on my return. 4 days of eating fast food albeit the healthiest I could find on the menus my daughter selected has taken its toll. She hates cooking and wouldn’t let me do so - treated me! Every day.
So … 1.1kg on. I have some work to do now to get that back off and some more as well. Ah well, the trip to see my girls and grandkids was worth it.

Oh crikey, just goes to show how easy it goes on with fast food even if we try to keep it healthy, it is all heavily process. I am sure that it hasn't properly settled into fat cells yet, so you will be able to knock that kilo off once normal eating resumes! Happy Christmas!

77kg this morning, down .9 of a kg! Very unexpected. The ferrero rocks should have had a greater impact... Not sure I believe the scales, perhaps I'll have a delayed blip next week. For now, I'll take it. So, a total 21.5 kg or...10 medium turkey crowns....Happy New Year everyone, see you on the otherside.

Oh well, I put on a pound this week. I have been a bit carby this week, mind. Another NY cheesecake plus an experiment with roast potatoes (a glucose-related, not a culinary one) over the next couple of days, and I'll be back on that wagon.

Good luck, everyone. I hope you haven't put on too much weight (unless that's your intention).

Good morning everyone, I hope you all had a lovely Christmas, mine was really lots of fun.

@callyandy Ferraro Rocks did make me laugh, that is a good name for them and well done on losing despite the extra food around at this time of year.

@IanBish Only a pound, that isn't too bad, hopefully that will be gone by next week.

@EllieM That 100g will be gone by next week, so don't worry about it, at this time of year, it could have been a lot worse, you did well!

@filly - that is so frustrating, but probably down to Christmas dinner, I will be crossing my fingers for you to have a better result next week.

I am amazed to see a 1lb loss on the scales this morning, despite a little indulgence on Christmas Day and Boxing Day (and I enjoyed every mouthful).

Have a great Hogmanay everyone - we are heading into a great and healthy 2024!

Greetings chums and chumettes. Gained 1lb this week so not too disheartened as most Christmases it would be a whopping 7lb extra. Back to the diet next week so I'll have that off in no time.

Hope everyone is spiffingly well today and enjoying the festivities. Games of Scrabble with my wife this afternoon so lots of fun ahead.

Stay safe peeps

Thank you @LeafyArts. Hopefully it will be.

Well done on the 1 pound loss - that's good going given the season.

Happy Hogmanay, and a happy, healthy 2024 to you too.

Well! Surprise surprise! Not only did I lose the 1.1kg I gained last week, but I lost a further 0.4kgs which takes me into the 80s therefore achieving my first interim goal.
No idea how, given the rubbish I have eaten and total lack of exercise.
