@maglil55. Chester is such a lovely city. We had planned to go last uk visit, staying with friend in Cheshire. But we couldn’t face the crowds - there was a parade happening- so we went to the beach instead. We lived in Cheshire for 6 years ages ago.
I was lucky with the fall yesterday. Apart from the side of my left knee being slightly swollen, I can still walk ok, which I hadn’t really expected since I did a no-hands landing.

Food today
Tea
Cwc
Lunch 2 slices LC bread with assorted cheese
Yoghurt and berries
Late afternoon SIL called. So cwc, then Prosecco and nuts.
Scrambled eggs and toasted LC roll. Yoghurt and berries again. Tea.

cant remember if i posted yesterday
today 31-07-19
breakfast, tea and last of the nut granola, not really hungry so that was it, until about 11am when had pain au raisin and coffee. Pretty sure Pain au raisin is on the Banned List, didnt check BG.
lunch avocado, tomato and goats cheese salad, few slices of cucumber, water to drink
three plain galettes, and tea
dinner , cabbage and peas, few new potato slices, chicken livers and gravy. delicious chicken livers, they were pre cooked in duck fat and chilled, just needed warming through. Pack has enough for three normal people, or myself and MrSlim but he is uncomfortable today, So I restrained myself and saved some for breakfast, eggs fried in duckfat, should be delicious.
Two glasses of Cabernet Anjou rose
Guesstimated Cals and Carbs, had ice cream 13g carbs and berries 8g carbs to make up the deficit.
Two small pieces of Comté cheese at bedtime, along with my tea. Am trying to keep up the calories.
Work on the house continues, today have got newly installed kitchen sink, with both HOT and Cold water. Ofc the cooker and fridge are still in "old" kitchen, and "new" kitchen has no lights, but its a major step in the right direction. Son2 arrives late tomorrow, intends to help, so progress should be faster. Daughter and family arriving on the 10th august. need to have it sorted by then. Anyone know how to fit 8 people: two couples, one single male, two children and a baby into two small bedrooms and a motorhome?

We have fit four adults and four older kids (two boys two girls) in to a two bedroom unit, and we did not give up our bedroom either.

A coin was tossed for the other bedroom, so one set of adults got a bed.

The rest all slept on camp stretchers and pump up queen size mattresses in the lounge, our two grandsons slept in my office.

Yesterday after a momentous night of colicky pain I had a slice HiLo toast and tea about 2pm then a bowl of soup at 6pm. Otherwise just sips of water. Still got a high FBG today.

Sorry for your colicky pain and higher fbg. I hadn't heard of adult colic before so your discomfort taught me something. Just looked it up.

I wasn't "having a go" and have total sympathy. Just associated colic with children but it sounds very unpleasant so I hope it all resolves itself fast.

Tablets (oral)
Bed 5.3 FBG 5.4 (although I got what I thought was a surge to 10.4 with a vertical arrow! Turns out it was a rogue reading. Libre hasn't fully settled yet).
Sitting quietly working on my legs. All this walking is starting to take it's toll but they've held up well. I have my portable flowtron boots so they're working on the puffiness as I type. We headed into Chester in the morning yesterday as that was when I was on my Libre replacement mission. Hubby was horrified at the cost but he doesn't really pay attention to these things. Met SIL & BIL on our travels who were on the hunt for a barber. Returned to hotel to pick up meds and a quick rest before heading into Liverpool with SIL & BIL to meet friends. Finally getting the hang of these Arriva Mobile tickets and the bus routes.
B. At hotel. 2 GF sausages, 1 rasher back bacon, 1 fried egg, 1 slice black pudding, mushrooms, pot of black coffee and my slice of GF toast which arrives automatically with my little pot of cream.
L. Americano in Costa with a little pot of cream and a bottle of water.
D. In Liverpool having taken the train in earlier and met up with friends. Had the best Indian meal I've had in a long time. Yukti Indian Fusion Street Food. The rest had all the usual starters - I had a spicy squid. A Lamb and spinach curry and I had a side of spicy cauliflower, peas and tomato with chilli - yet more wine! Walked back in the direction of Liverpool Central but stopped at a lovely small bar run by the sister of one of the couples we were with. Had to have an Irish Coffee. Got back to Chester and the hotel about midnight so been having a lazy morning which was just interrupted with the fire alarm (turned out to be a steamy shower). Ah well heading out soon anyway.

I usually blame Metformin for my colicky pain - sometimes very fierce - painful enough to make one feel nauseous and sweaty. But I'm pretty sure it is just colic - first time it was investigated the surgeon found some malignant polyps, so just as well he had a look, but the problem seems to be just the Metformin - even after years of taking it. My son, who now has Crohn's disease, used to suffer severe colic when he was a baby, don't know if there is a connection there. Probably there was since he is allergic to lactose amongst a hundred other things.

Anyway - breakfast was a mushroom omelette.
Lunch was some baked fish (bought haddock and salmon yesterday from the Stornoway Fishermen's co-op but they weren't as fresh as I would have liked so I baked the whole lot and had a little for lunch. Jury is out on whether I can actually do anything with the rest if I freeze it.
Dinner will be roast chicken and roast vegetables. I roasted the veg with some garlic and a couple of bird's eye chillies. I took one little piece of roasted squash to make sure it was done but didn't realise that one of the chillies was stuck to it. Ouch!!! It didn't stay in my mouth very long and half a glass of milk, a dollop of yoghurt, some grapefruit juice and half an hour later, the burn started to subside. I'll be more careful with the rest. I like the flavour of chilli but don't actually like eating them.

If you freeze the fish, in a flaked state, you could easily add it to a stir-fry, or a pretendy kedgeree, with cauli rice

@Annb interesting about the polyps. I am going to pursue with Dr when I (hopefully) get back from Ireland. Did you find Buscopan helpful at all? Its very sugary though.
Today had large tea and one slice HiLo toast this morning.
Bowl of soup lunchtime.
OH having giant fish fingers later so might try a couple if I fancy. No veg for me right now. Otherwise I will have one of those Danone small yogurts.

Evening all. Didn’t get to post yesterday - unexpected 11.5 hour working day. Arrived just after 7am and left just after 6.30pm. Decided to walk home the scenic way via the Regent’s Canal, Thames and various parks. Good decision. Took an hour at least to de-stress but was nicely relaxed on arrival at home 3 hours later.

@Brunneria still laughing at your Dire Portents of Sausage Doom.

@maglil55 glad you tracked down some sensors. Chester sounds wonderful. Have been meaning to visit for ages.

@PenguinMum hope you soon feel better.

Odd eating pattern yesterday and today. 4 hour eating window but much earlier than usual - breakfast around 9am. 2 fried eggs, 4 rashers bacon and a small amount of grated cheese. Lunch was exactly the same! No dinner as walking home.

Result was a 23 hour fast until lunch today. Same food for the third meal in a row - cafe near work is fab. Dinner was a steak hache, 1 Waitrose free range Cumberland sausage (cooked 2 but one is now in tomorrow’s lunch box) and a fried egg.

In other news, air fryer research has begun in earnest.

Edited for typo.

Well I'll be hornswoggled. Man chooses food with which he is familiar and it tastes just like it always does - outrageous. Food in question was toast (skinny bread) and butter, cheese and corned beef sandwich (S.B.) with tomato and an egg and avocado salad. Only cooking involved was toasting - it is summer. It was food and it tasted fine, as expected, and man could do everything he needed to do, What else is food supposed to do?

Then it was off to the ophthalmologist for my 11.20 eye appointment. I thought I would have something to eat when we came home.
It was apparently his last day before going on holiday for 4 weeks- the surgery was bursting full. I had my eye pressure, strength etc checked and the drops to dilate the pupils. But it was 3 hrs 20 mins before I actually saw the doctor. I’d reached the stage where I couldn’t sit any longer.
Anyway he was impressed and pleased with my LC diet, bg levels. He said that everything is perfect, and that since my bg levels are good without meds, and I’m controlling it with diet, then I could leave the next check up for two years if I want. And he actually smiled!!!
I know that I have a way to go, but as far as he’s concerned my bg levels are now lower than they were when I was taking Metformin, and, as I’m about 10 kgs lighter, he can see that I’m following a LC diet. He said that OH should do it too. :)))
At about 4 pm I had LC bread with cheese, then yoghurt and berries.
Tea, water.
I might have a baby bel and some nuts.

difficulty will be bathroom access, anyone sleeping in main room will have visitors to and fro all night.
