What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

Yay! Battled through the school traffic and got some. I’m a bit embarrassed to report I’ve already tried a snifter - as you say it’s gorgeous. Funnily enough, youngest daughter was here when I got back and exclaimed delightedly when she saw it - she is also a great fan of it.
Next time you’re in Cornwall look out for Elemental gin too, they make a raspberry one and an apple one, both are delicious. You can get it online but p&p makes it too expensive.
Cheers PM!
Great...proper order to try it out pronto...hope you got more than one bottle. When I was in Kent with my friend recently she had the Spiced Plum and Clementine from same range and it was also nice. The Elemental apple gin sounds good. Have you seen Warners are doing an Apple & Pear gin to mark Joules anniversary (both company start ups in same town) which I have bought for friend for Christmas (twice the price of Aldi).
Its Friday and I am about to scrub 3kg of mussels so might need a snifter myself while I remember this time 25 years ago in labour.

Ah good tip thanks you. I wonder how long they’ll take to arrive? I’m feeling impatient to try them now.
They take a while as bake them for you but they do notify you when sent out. They don’t bake at weekend. I’d guess next wednesday or Thursday however they are very responsive to messaging and will respond if you are wondering where they are.

@annabell1 hug for the UC flare but lovely images. Seems a while since it was drunk for a penny and dead drunk for two pence, gals. I wanted to love the DGF food being Cambridge based but that taste of erythritol made it impossible. B=now traditional regime; L=avocado, h/b eggs and 2 oz grated cheese salad; Eve will be almond milk cocoa. Whoda thunk the food fairy was also a case packing fairy?

Funny as you’ll need more than one snifter if thinking about giving birth!

Bit of a weird food day combined with lots of travelling.

Train to Brum first thing to deliver leaving gifts to a colleague. Upgraded myself to first class so breakfast of smoked salmon and scrambled eggs. They even supplied some butter.

Then morning refreshments at Hotel Chocolat. 85% hot chocolate with cocoa whip. Followed by a cheese scone and cream in the John Lewis cafe.

Dinner was a bunless bacon cheeseburger with mayonnaise and grilled onions at Five Guys in Cardiff, where I’m spending the weekend. Currently enjoying free drinks in the hotel lounge. Unfortunately all the free snacks are way too carby.

Editing to say just found some cheese :)

@Goonergal pleased you found cheese as part of your hotel deal!
Breakfast one slice bacon, egg and half toasted chaffle
Mid pm a few walnuts and coffee with cream.
Dinner slow cooked short rib of beef with button sprouts fried with a few bits of bacon. Glass od dry red wine. Pudding deliciously guilt free pumpkin spice brownie warmed with yoghurt and cream. Will use left over stock to slow cook brisket on Sunday.
A few squares of 100% choc with decaf coffee and cream later.
River Severn still rising but got down to town to have our flu vaccines at teatime. Our medical centre is right by the river Severn but behind effective flood barriers. The old medical centre -pre flood barriers and nearby site was, of necessity built on stilts! Lashing rain and cold however helps to get the work done!

Daughter also mentioned the spiced plum and clementine one! I assumed it’d be sweet though so didn’t get a bottle.
Hope this evening is a lot more relaxed than 25years ago - you certainly deserve that snifter!

Evening all. I hope those flood barriers hold out @shelley262
Happy hols tomorrow @ianpspurs it’s been a rough time for you lately so I hope you enjoy yourself.
Love the sound of your first class upgrade breakfast @Goonergal - a really busy day for you so it was well deserved.
NE1 today was 4am - I’d been awake since 3 but finally gave up and went downstairs and made a pot of tea. Also had a handful of Brazils and a couple of slices of Emmental, a mistake as eating that early made me feel quite sick for a few hours. No idea why I did it.

Hi All
I have had 24 hours of cookng and entertaining and enjoyed every minute. Son and gf went out for coffee this morning and came back for lunch of h/m leek, broccoli and parsley soup with a drizzle of cream (for those who like that sort of thing). Then made Lamb Kheema for tonight and Boeuf Bourgignon for tomorrow.
I had my usual breakfast of slice HiLo toast, thick butter, tea.
Lunch was bowl of said soup sans creme.
Supper will be Lamb Kheema with cauli rice.
Happy days!

OMAD day today. 16 mile walk along the Taff Trail from Cardiff to Pontypridd via Castell Coch. Lucked out with the weather - sunny most of the morning and dry until about 2 minutes before I got back to the hotel.

Dinner was due to be at Nando’s but huge queue so headed for Five Guys and a bunless bacon cheeseburger with mayonnaise and grilled onions. Sauntered over to Hotel Chocolat for a hot chocolate and cocoa whip before retreating to the hotel for a hot shower and several cold drinks. Should sleep well.

Evening all from a still nicely warm Pafos. Food today was: tea for breakfast @ 4.50. Small piece of fittata in BA lounge around 11.15; Lunch on the plane was salmon rillete, cod and cheese (did have 5 gms worth of carb from lemon posset) 130 mls Malbec and a brandy - lots of tea. You could have drunk for free almost whole of the 4 hrs 45 mins - some did hit the champagne big time. Sat in front of some guy called Paul Hollywood. Evening meal (sat outside no jumper etc needed; restaurant manager found me and showed me his research into ketogenic diet and introduced me to the chef who told me to ask for what I wanted if nothing suitable); egg, octopus and beef salad, cheese (tried some of Julie's souvlaki and Jerusalem artichokes. and some pleasant Israeli Cab Sauv.) Tomorrow will be a horrible 26C - you wouldn't like it guys. Huge Christmas tree in reception looks gorgeous but quite odd with folks wandering around in shorts and pool slides. https://www.elysium-hotel.com/en
