@Chook Archie is not only fabulous to look at, he’s an absolute star! I’ve met Medical Alert dogs before who have been specifically trained to pick up particular diseases and low bg but he’s done it all by himself. What a legend. What breed is he?
@Annb hope you manage ok today with your bad feet. Could you perhaps keep some nuts in a more accessible cupboard in case of times like these?
Here's my other one - cant leave her out - 11 years old and she still thinks she's a puppy

oh wow you are a nice mum making breakfast for your daughter, hope her essay goes well.3 meals today as daughter wanted encouragement to get up early and finish her essay so I said I’d make us both breakfast.
B: Poached eggs, bacon and avocado. Black coffee
L: 2 h/b eggs mixed with h/m mayo and a dash of hot sauce, in iceberg lettuce wraps.
D: the pheasants which have been hanging in the garage. I used this recipe https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/pheasant-braised-leeks-cider-apples?utm_source=app which I think is the one @maglil55 suggested. Didn’t put booze in it, used h/m chicken bone broth for the liquid. Didn’t eat any of the apple. Followed their suggestion for a side dish https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/celeriac-cavolo-nero-colcannon-thyme-bacon-crumb?utm_source=app this was very nice and I’d definitely have it again ( didn’t do the sourdough breadcrumbs, considered a slice of Livlife but didn’t bother in the end)
@Goonergal that lunch sounds good. Hope the gym goes well.

going for 38 degrees today, at least the 34 degree day and today's 38 helps the paint dry and allows me to have my window open to air out the fumes. As they are not helping my asthma or pneumonia.@Chook lovely dogs and so impressed by Archie’s diagnostic talents.
@DJC3 well done dealing with the pheasants and producing what sounds like an amazing meal
.@Goonergal good luck at the gym a weights workshop sounds challenging
@Rachox jealous of your hols - sound great

@SlimLizzy good news about your shoulder hope it continues to improve
Hungry day today -always is when Im lucky enough to manage to start the day with a swim - which I did today. Achieved a record 50 lengths this morning - usually I reach 41 or 43 if lucky and then get incapacitated with calf cramp which stops me in my tracks - but it seems to be really improving recently long may it continue! Meant spent 50 mins in pool wonderful treat for me.
Breakfast two boiled eggs with half a chaffle
Lunch a fair few hm lc seeded crackers - made first batch for ages mid am - with celery and tin of sardines in olive oil and a bit of cheese followed by coffee and some 100% chocolate hc buttons.
Dinner large piece of salmon in lemon butter with cauliflower cheese with glass of dry white followed by hm lc lemon and lime mousse

I never buy cauliflower rice, I just buy a cauliflower and grate however much I need that day. The rest of the cauliflower keeps way longer than a bit of leftover storebought cauliflower rice.My Iceland hasnt had cauli rice for a couple of months. Anyone else found the same? Tesco has similar frozen packs of 4 on their website but thats not in my local Tesco either. I think Asda do them too but its a bit of a jaunt for me so will wait to see what you good people advise. TIA.

Lovely dogs all. Em has a golden lab who is very patient and well behaved with the children. Lovely dog. She also has this huge cross Newfoundland - just over a year old and weighs more than No 2 son, who has to walk him, of course. I think the dog takes No 2 son for a run, in fact rather than the other way round. He also loves taking a bath in warm water which often happens because he gets very muddy and so bath water is left in the bath for him and he comes in from a late run and jumps straight into the bath. Not quite so keen on cold sea water though. His Newfie ancestry hasn't quite passed on the right message.
Something odd about our family - people and animals are all a bit odd/mad.

Pipe under washing machine sprung a leak, my parents came over this evening, they think the washer just went and it started spurting water. turned off tap, stopped leak to a slow drip, it's friday here, so plumber is coming monday morning before I have my GP appointment at 1.30. If it doesn't rain it pours. So can't use my washing machine till Monday.
