What have you eaten today? (Low carb forum)

I'll be away for the next couple of days and potential food is a mystery. I am taking something for this evening's meal but can't get anything more into my luggage, so tomorrow I will be dependent upon whatever the hospital has to offer when I come out of the anaesthetic. I'll try to stay away from the carbs as much as possible. Should be awake in time for a late lunch.

Flying means not carrying a very big bag, which is why I am short of space for food. Can't even get my slippers in, so I'll be barefoot on the ward - probably get told off for that.

They'll likely find you something for your feet. You can't be the only person in that situation.

Good luck with the op. Hopefully it'll all be over and healing soon.

Thanks for the good wishes. I'm sure it will be done and forgotten very quickly. Actually getting to the hospital and back are more problematic than the op.

Apparently, BBC Scotland News is doing a special on the disaster that is the ferry service (or lack of) to and from the islands.
Hope everything goes well tomorrow xx

Evening all.

Hope all goes well with the op @Annb

I’ve been meaning to comment on your comment about Mrs Craddock - was amused that the ‘profanity filter’ censored her first name!
The sauce was popularised in the 1960s by ***** Cradock, a British celebrity chef".

Any way, back on topic, have eaten two meals today.

Lunch was oxtail cooked in the Instant Pot - meat was falling off the bone tender - followed by Fage 0% and raspberries. Dinner was air fried pork belly pieces.

@shelley262 , if you don't let me move in with you, could you at least sell me some of your delicious food?

Tmad today
So a late breakfast of 3 scrambled eggs with a chunky slice of yesterday's turkey meat loaf
Mid afternoon: 2 lc ginger biscuits (which I made at the weekend and froze but have discovered they can be eaten frozen!)
D: A bottom of the fridge medley... base of lentils, mid layer of mashed swede with ham and cheese, topped with cabbage. 2 sqs 85% and 1 glass white wine with soda

Bed 5.1 FBG 4.7 - Eldest grandson returned to school and shouldn't have. Had to collect him again. He seems to be coming down with the same thing as me. Just to top it, by evening youngest has it too!

B. Still just water. I can't face coffee yet.

L. 3 M&S crackers with egg again

D. Made a kind of thing with cauliflower rice, grated mozzarella, cream and peas. Had it with mince. It tasted OK. A kind of variation on cauliflower mash. Once again, I couldn't finish it. I guess my tum is getting used to food again. At least I managed to pick up youngest from school and get back to car without ending up in a cold sweat!

Oh well, no more school runs this week.

morning all. my dear friend doesnt know it yet but she will be making me a crustless quiche for todays lunch! and she will be boiling 2 eggs and buttering 2 ryvitas for my tea! life would be very difficult without her and i know how lucky i am. am recovering slowly thank you. dressing change next monday with district nurse. stitches out after 12-14 days.

Today I missed lunch due to work but decided to go with it… just had a massive meal of roasted kale, avocado, onion, tomatoes with a cauliflower steak and two slices of keto vegan bread. Blood sugar 5.3 this pm. Still high in the mornings (9-13) but I’m not been doing this for 10 days so hopeful it will lower

I love seeing all these meal ideas!

Breakfast: my usual low carb coconut ‘porridge’ with strawberries washed down with a black coffee.
Late morning: black coffee and a Carb Killa bar.
Skipped lunch.
Mid afternoon: black coffee and DGF Ketoreos
Dinner: full English, sausage, bacon, egg, mushrooms, half a tomato and one hash brown.

Edit to add the tomato

First thing a few spoons of hm yoghurts with my supplements
Lunch as yesterday a few spoons of my different salads and fermented veggies with some smoked salmon as well as four m and s lc seeded crackers and a bit of a ripe blue cheese followed by a spoon of my ginger and lemon stewed pink Yorkshire rhubarb with hm yoghurt and four squares of 100% chocolate with almonds
Dinner slow cooked game casserole served with cauliflower and carrots and a small glass of red wine followed by lc ginger cake warmed and served with spoon of hm yoghurt.
My yoghurt production is still in full swing and I’m continuing to be surprised at the differences in textures and tartness or mildness - some like a cream needing straining to get a Greek style version to others like clotted cream - all made with different live friendly bacteria or mixes of them. Tonight’s was a clotted cream type version using lactobillus Reuteri and incubated at 38 degrees for 36 hours and is my favourite.

Bacon and two egg nd cheese omelette, baked beans, two slices of toast and vegimite for breakfast.
Beef and bacon pie with out lid, lemon cordial, osmolax mix for smoko.
Chicken legs and green veggies, gravy, pineapple jelly for lunch.
Re fried liver witha goodly sprinkle of fresh ground black pepper low carb sandwiches for supper at six.

Skipped breakfast
L: a salad using up some puy lentils, tomato, cucumber, ham, spring onions, salami. Ff yoghurt with chopped pecans. 2 ginger lc biscuits
D: 2 chicken legs from the rotisserie counter 1 sq hm lc cinnamon nut cake with cream.
Zumba class (now thinking this might the cause of my sciatica reoccurrence)
Late snack of cheese and 3 seedy crackers

Bed 4.5 FBG 4.3. The only good thing with this bug is my BGs (having got past the sickness & sweating day) are very low. Grandsons are not as badly hit as me but still have cramping. Hubby has now fallen victim to it though.

B. Just water. I still cannot face coffee. A bit later I did have the 3 M&S crackers and Philly.

L. 1/2 mug of Chicken and vegetable soup.

D. 2 slices of ox tongue, piece of smoked cheese and a 2 egg mushroom omelette. I even managed some coconut milk. I even ate 2 strawberries! Wow.

Meantime, the latest thing to emerge with this bug is cold sores on the side of my mouth! Pharmacy prescribed a 10 day treatment.
