Had to chuckle about the Campari and soda. Haven't tried a drink yet. Hope it was good.Sunday 16 October bed 6.3 FBG 6.5. Swimming lesson doneironing donefinal shop with son doneNow maybe I can focus on what I need to do.
B. TAG and 2 slices of SLC toast with egg mayo.
L. Nothing - too busy with above.
D. I got one of these very thick rib eye steaks which do 2 people. Had it with the last king oyster mushroom, spinach, santini tomatoes, cauliflower cheese and mustard. Usual campari and soda.
Oh, I forgot earlier I had a grenade ice cream bar. I've discovered that if I have this (or the coconut bar etc( before 8 pm, then my BGs don't react as much and drop to more normal levels at bedtime.

Made a very tasty low carb chocolate and nut icecream. Which meant lots of tasting and implement licking during the afternoon, served nicely for food during the day, nothing else needed!Still a pot of double cream left, despite the mushroom sauce and repeated pot licking when passing the fridge.
So I borrowed my friend's ice cream maker and see what I can do with it tomorrow!
The only thing I put in single malt is more single malt, any thing else is a sacriledge.I used to love Stones ginger wine, especially in a Whisky Mac ( not suggesting you mix it with your usual single malt of course).

I only went to bed at 5 PM last night because of coming home in the middle of the night after the concert and needing to wind down. So quite 'hungover' today, especially with the lingering cold too.
Was going to cook but didn't. Instead I had a very tasty sandwich for my evening meal with a mixture of 'ossenworst', a pickled egg, a raw chopped onion, mayonnaise, aioli and some English pickles bought on my holiday. No idea what's in it, it's dark brown lumpy stuff, tastes amazing!
No picture, because as good as it tasted, it absolutely looked revolting!
We've moved onto Chicago City and had to be up early to return the hire car by 9.
Found a breakfast place very close by which is just as well as it's freezing, only 5 ° and very windy. Saw some kindergarten children out for a walk blown over like nine pins!
Ordered an omelette . Forgot to say "hold the sides "

Left most of the hash browns and ate just 2 mouthfuls of the pancake which I had been hankering for
As usual, it didn't come up to memories . it tasted of baking powder and not much else. The maple syrup was good but too sweet so stuck at just the 2 mouthfuls.
The "meat lovers" omelette was 4 eggs and very filling
Nothing else since
Except 2 glasses single malt
(Hubbys breakfast was 2 poached eggs benedict with avocado, with hash browns. He's had a plate of cheese and crackers for supper)
Hoping we adapt to the cold as it was so bitter we've been mostly inside today.
Forecast is better after a couple of days
Neil found some very cute and very small pumpkins when he went shopping. There is one orange one about 3 inches diameter, one orange one about 4 inches diameter and a pale yellow one about 5 inches diameter. I'm not really sure how to cook them. Does anyone have experience of cooking mini pumpkins? I could roast them whole and them hollow them out and fill with something or other, I suppose. But that's not very exciting. Any ideas in that great culinary network out there?
I had less than half a small tablespoon in my creative concoction, which gave the whole thing a strong and delicious flavour so not too worried about the carbs that added to my otherwise low carb meal.@Antje77 , if you have a look on line, there are lots of recipes for "almost" Branston Pickle. Looking at them I was surprised there's no tamarind in them. Not exactly low carb, but I guess it all depends where your off button is set, in terms of portion sizes.
