Nothing you can buy @IanBish tastes half as good as what you make yourself, IMO.I've had bought chicken shawarma, and also made it myself. I think I prefer my own, even though it may not be authentic.
I don't need an excuse @DJC3. I find it very difficult to walk past Waitrose!Ah yes I remember talk of them in here a while back. Thanks, a good excuse to go to Waitrose now.
But sometimes having a not as tasty meal is worth less hassle in the kitchen!Nothing you can buy @IanBish tastes half as good as what you make yourself, IMO.
I do enjoy pork scratchings and was thrilled to discover they are common in grocery stores in south Texas, chicharrones, which sounds so much more fancy than scratching. In a variety of flavours too. A treat when I’m there.Didn't feel like cooking tonight. Though I did make a cheese and mushroom omelette for lunch. So this evening I had half a tub of Greek yoghurt, some (bought) chicken breast, and a small packet of pork scratchings. I did spread the chicken out on a plate, and sprinkled it with black pepper, so that's cooking of sorts. Normal service will be resumed shortly.

Will do - they eat the bacon regularly I gather and enjoy it.@shelley262 Let us know what the Welsh meats are like. They look delicious, as does your (cold) chicken dinner.
Indeed, especially when it's this hot and humid @Antje77. None of us wants to turn on the oven. But sometimes having a not as tasty meal is worth less hassle in the kitchen!
Mine were from Aldi, @Rachox, but that looks lovely. I miss sprouts, but I'd forgotten that I've got some in the freezer. But you can't beat fresh.Dinner: lamb shank in red wine gravy (was inspired to look in Tesco after @IanBish mentioned he’d got them pre made) with brussels and broccoli.
